I just found out I probably have ADD which makes it kinda hard to write sometimes. (Also I found another way the patriarchy freaking sucks) What learning disabilities or mental health issues do you have, and how do you overcome them when writing? Please feel free not to share I wasn't sure how open people would be to this so if you feel weird about it just let it die. Or if you want to hear my rant about the patriarchy then I'll share that
Patriarchy rants are always good
Also I think I have ADHD, which is so fun.
Alright so apparently young boys are way more likely to be diagnosed with ADD or ADHD because it often manifests itself in boys as being fidgety, loud, normal add or adhd stuff. However in girls it often shows up as being super talkative so teachers just brush it off as just girls talking a lot because ya know stereotypes so girls aren't likely to be diagnosed until usually middle of highschool.
I have ADD too, and that makes it hard for me to focus on writing and math, too. What I do to focus is sing it to a tune in my head, any tune. Like, 'the great depression was a hard time, blah blah blah' but as I write I will sing it in my head, usually with a tune I made up, or a song I recently heard. I'll keep adding numbers and adding information about the great depression sing-song-y or whatver and that usually helps it come onto the paper better. It might not work for you, but it could help.
Math is a fricking nightmare
That actually sounds helpful, I should try it.
Math is a fricking nightmare
Like I'll start and be like "Oh! This isn't too difficult!" And then my brain goes. "LET'S TALK ABOUT SPAAAAAAACCCEEE!"
