Hey I didn't want to interrupt the flow of any of the other chats so here's a story.
Yesterday in Jewelry class, we were using saws to saw through the metal to make our cuff bracelets. We use interchangeable blades that break pretty often, so I had already busted about three blades. On my fourth, I was sawing pretty quickly, so I didn't have time to move my hand before the broken blade of the jeweler's saw jammed into my left ring finger and broke off. Now I had about a quarter inch of serrated metal in my finger.
I stood up and went to my teacher, and she called for the nurse. Then the ground disappeared. I fainted, and a few students got up to catch me. I sat down on a nearby empty table, and the nurse came with a wheelchair. She attempted to remove the blade from my finger, and I straight passed out. I eventually got wheeled to the nurse's office and got checked out. At home, my mom was, luckily, able to remove the blade.
I got a band-aid and was back at school within an hour and a half. Now (in jewelry class) I'm being very cautious about the saws… I couldn't sleep last night because my mind kept replaying the scene.

These sorts of accidents always suck. I had a skateboarding accident once that peeled off a thick layer of skin from my shoulder and I passed out and wasn't able to move that arm for several hours. But we always bounce back. :)

Also: I deleted several unrelated comments from this thread. This is a friendly reminder for everyone to remain civil and on-topic in threads.
