So I'm writing a hospital scene, and yeah. I only wrote part of it before deciding to put it down here to check if it's accurate or not… the blood type thing's supposed to be there, I know it would be accurate in a realistic setting, but she fused with an Asgardian god and yeah I need help

I opened my eyes, my brows drawn together. “I thought you said that you were alright?” I said, before realizing that I was out of the dreamworld. I’m worried… the cries were louder and there were more people this time. What the heck happened when I left?
I tried to get up, but found that I had a painfully severe case of pins and needles in my arms and legs. When I moved my foot towards the side of the bed, it started to tingle uncomfortably, an unwelcome change from its current numbness.
I stayed still for a couple of minutes, unable to endure the prickling that appeared every time I moved. The numbness gradually faded, and I was able to finally get up. Weird… when I normally get pins and needles, it fades when I move, not when I stay still. Does this have anything to do with Loki?
A small rapping at the door alerted me to the presence of another person outside. I looked around. The two other girls I was sharing this room with were watching a Youtube video together, so who could it be?
I padded silently to the door, pulling it open with a flourish. An attending physician was there, holding a clipboard. “Hello-” I started to say.
“Your test results are back,” he said bluntly, pulling up a nearby chair to the bed. “Danielle, Monica, can you wait outside while I talk with Yoona? It’s very important.”
Monica nodded, wobbling to the door on her crutches, while Danielle gave me a concerned look, but followed Monica outside eventually.
“There’s… no easy way to say this,” the nurse said, pursing his lips. “Let me be frank with you-”
“Isn’t your name James?” I joked, trying to relieve some of the tension. The nurse stared at me blankly. “You- you know, because of your name tag- Never mind.” I started to wonder whether they chose this nurse to break the bad news to me because of his lack of humor and bluntness.
“Anyway,” he coughed, adjusting his glasses. “Your blood tests came out… oddly. You seem to have…” He looked down at the clipboard, as if he couldn’t believe his eyes. “… naturally changed blood types from Type O to Type AB-.”
My nervous smile dropped when I saw his bewildered expression. “That’s- that’s not normal, is it?”
The nurse shook his head. “Far from it. It is considered very rare for your blood type to change during your lifetime naturally, and AB- is one of the rarest blood types out there-”
“Wait,” I blurted out, remembering something. “Why did you take my blood? I thought you just stitched me up-”
“Yes, well, it’s standard medical procedure,” he interrupted in a condescending tone. “And another thing: you are healing faster than a normal -

So my explanation for why Yoona switched blood types even though she's technically mostly in control:
She was going to die. She was in a car accident and, I quote,

I caught a glimpse of myself in a car rearview mirror, and almost jumped in surprise. Small cuts from the glass had opened up all over my face, and my nose was steadily dripping scarlet onto the ground. A shard of glass six inches long was half buried in my chest, and my eyes widened. How am I not dead by now? This must be a dream, then. I might as well check…

So my headcanon as for why Loki and Thor heal so fast: they both have Asgardian/Jotun blood. (although asgardian blood is proven to heal faster than jotun blood, more on that later) So Loki had to risk his magic and some of his control to save his host's life permanently, and did a magical blood transfusion.
oh yeah and after thanos killed him his consciousness got transported into yoona's body more on that later asdfghjkl-
i'm not sure what blood type jotun blood would be? mates i need help on that too

@Wry_Wyvern

People with type O blood can't get a blood transfusion from any type except O (O+ can accept O+ or O- while O- can only accept O-). Idk exactly what's going on with Asgardian biology or how it could differ from human biology, but I'd stick with known medicine as much as possible just to be on the safe side.

Ok so lets see if science class payed off… I don't think that a person can just change blood types (even though is is a fictional world) Blood cells have certain markers that relate to DNA and can cause blood to clump. O has markers that make it clump with a and b, but not with a negative blood type. This prevents it from being mixed with the wrong blood type. I don't think that it is possible for blood to just randomly loose or gain those markers, unless the DNA was heavily effected (I am not a scientist) We can't determine alien blood types, so that doesn't really help. The likelihood of his blood matching hers is very unlikely. Jotun markers are probably different than human markers, so her blood would most likely clump and she would die (Sorry that is depressing) but you said he was doing it magically, so I'm sure you could just make up an excuse for it to work (That's the nice thing about magic)

same here… yeah, i should change it. so you're saying that it's possible for o to change into ab positive, but not ab negative?

I don't really think that it is possible at all, actually. O still has a and b clumping markers, so it wouldn't work. But if it is her blood turning into his through magic, that is different because it can't be explained by science. For that, you could probably just make up a blood type because it would be very unlikely he would have a human blood type. But I don't know if this would have an effect on a healing ability. For that, all of her DNA would probably have to be different. Again, you could probably just say this happened through magic, because I don't really think this could happen through science. (Hope this is helpful) Also, does this mean she is now a different species?

yeah? i guess? since her body's human, but partial jotun blood flows through her veins…

Loki's in her dreamscape… so he's technically in her subconsciousness. she can do spells (loki chose yoona because of her high aptitude for magic. he could have chose doctor strange, but… i believe that the ancient one… "chooses" people from the very beginning, and it was in his wyrd to become sorcerer supreme.) there were some others, but yoona and doctor strange were the closest… and i have a headcanon that lucid dreamers are better at doing magic? since magic takes a lot of imagination and willpower, including a strong grasp on your subconsciousness? and lucid dreamers have all of those so yeah

Ok so it is definitely not a blood transfusion. I think what would work better is that he changed all of her DNA and not just her blood. Because you said it was magic, I don't think that you need a scientific explanation. Also, you can probably just make up a blood type that is uncharted in science, and the doctor doesn't know what kind of blood she has. (Just suggestions. You don't need to listen to any of it.)
