so i went to my first actual audition and i was the least nervous person waiting in line. i was just chatting, practicing, acting like nothing was wrong, but when i went inside, i totally freaked out. i forgot the lines that i was supposed to memorize and even when i had the lyrics, i paused for five whole seconds, stuttered, and completely substituted a word for another wrong one. and i was the last person in line. it sucks knowing that i waited all this time only to be the person who failed the most.
and i'm going to get shit from my parents.
so yeah, please help

It's okay! I know exactly how you feel. The first time I auditioned for something o managed to make an utter fool of myself, and fell flat on my face. I was in ballet at the time. It was super embarrassing because I really enjoyed dancing it was my stress relief. The worst thing was, the rest of my class saw me fail. I quit dancing for a while but I came back to it. I know you'll do great! I wish you the best of luck!

I'm a cheerleader so let me cheer you up. I have went to a couple different types of auditions, and didn't make most of them. The ones that I did make I felt like I did the worse job at. They do take into account you feeling nervous and all that. When you do get nervous they look at how you recover from you mistakes or how you act like it was nothing. So don't focus on how bad you did, instead try to focus on the opportunity you had to show them how well you can recover.

In order to cheer myself up I watch funny video compilations, or I do something that I cannot resist smiling at. Youtube is a great distraction because you can laugh and stay distracted for ages. I hope this helped.

I'm sorry to hear that. But just know that everyone who's ever been in the performing arts has messed up an audition, and anyone who is going to fault you for messing up because you were nervous, which is a normal response to stressful stimuli, is absolutely in the wrong. Everyone feels some degree of nervousness, and keep this in mind: anyone who was watching you should know that too. But for future reference, you need to let yourself be nervous ahead of time. Just like any other feeling you have, if you keep it bottled up, it's going to overflow at the most inconvenient time.
But also it was your first actual audition and I'm proud of you. Most people don't even have the courage to sing in front of others. No matter how poorly you think you did, it's a learning experience. Sounds stupid, I know, but it really is. I've been in more than my share of auditions (mostly piano, a few singing), and I've failed quite a few. Sometimes it's because you mess up, sometimes it's just because others there were better than you this time, but even when things go horribly wrong, that's just another way of learning what not to do. It all makes things seem just a little sweeter in future auditions, when things do go right.

I've messed up too and I get it! It sucks.
But know that you did actually get up there and do it, and that's more courage than most people have! Don't give up! Some of the best actors and singers have messed up at some point, and you are not alone.
