Specifically, the art of contortion. I've recently come across a performer called Sofie Dossi, and I really want to be able to dance like her. I don't expect to get super flexible super fast or ever be as good as her, but I would like some advice on how to generally get more flexible. What sorts of stretches would you guys recommend? Exercise routines? I really need help with this as I'm trying to get healthier and get the type of body I'd like. All advice is appreciated!
Oooh. That's cool!
Maybe try some freestyle weight machines at a local gym.
I don'tâĤ have a local gym. Derp.
Hey I'm trying to get more flexible too! Actually I'm trying to do contortion as well, I mostly stretch my back and legs to try and get my splits at the moment, I try to stretch everyday and thats whats recommended to do but don't beat yourself up if you fall out of it for a day or even weeks, I have and I find I lose progress when I go a long time with out stretching but it's not too significant and it usually take a lot less time to get back to where you were than it did the first time. I like to follow youtube stretch follow alongs and learn what stretches they do and then I will try to make my own little basic stretches based on what I know from those videos when I don't have time to follow a video. Honestly a great thing to do is when your at home just wear flexible clothes and stretch whenever you can if you don't feel like taking a full ammount of time to stretch because everything counts when trying to get flexible just don't overpush yourself and hurt yourself
I'm not a professional but hopefully that helps
Idk I'm just pretty flexible naturally, especially my fingers.
I was definitely not flexible naturally but now I'm slightly more flexible than the average human, I am an inch away from getting my splits and I'm dying because I'm so close but just can't do it yet
