Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
A brand that gives you actual fucking purple?

I've never actually used Arctic Fox but I've heard it really good, especially if you don't wash your hair too often. Right now I'm using one called Ion (Ion Color Brilliance to be exact). I used to use a brand called Pulp Riot (love that shit) but you can only get it if you're a licensed beautician and my mom's friend who is a beautician moved away. My point is, Ion is available to anyone and is the closest brand I've found to Pulp Riot.

Also if you're okay with ordering online (or you have one near you) Sally Beauty is having a buy two get one free sale for hair dye right now.

@Yamatsu

Why can't you order Pulp Riot if you aren't a beautician? I used the Lime Crime Unicorn hair dye, but I find that despite it being all-natural and whatnot, it fades pretty quickly.

I don't know. There are some brands that you have to be licensed to buy. I think cause they're so strong? I don't really know the reasoning.
Honestly . . . natural stuff fades pretty quickly. I used one called Manic Panic and it faded in a week. I will usually wait as long as I can to wash my hair for the first time after dying it and it faded before I even took a shower. The brand is vegan, so I think that has something to do with it. But then again, Arctic Fox is vegan and I've heard that its good.

Arctic Fox is really good. The only thing is that you have to be patient and make sure youre following directions.

Crazy colors fad quickly unfortunately. It's just a stupid thing about it.

I DO recommend using hair masks at least once a week to combat the excessive dye jobs and to make sure your hair is as healthy as possible. The healthier it is, the more the dye will hold and look good. Target has a brand that I LOVE for hair masks of all difference types for barely $3 a pack. It's called Hask and its all natural products. I just used the keratin on and my hair is strong and shiny and the heat damage/dye damage is all but reversed. When I dont use the keratin I usually go for the argon oil, which makes your hair shiny and helps stimulate your scalp to grow more hair so you get nice thick natural strands. It's great stuff.

One of my friends dyes her hair a lot and her tip is not to take long hot showers when it's died. Also choose colors that still look good even when they fade (like purples, reds, and blues)

Yes, colder showers are way better for your hair. Also, try not to wash your hair too much. Still shower, but the more your hair actually gets washed, the quicker it fades. (Dry shampoo is your friend) Certain shampoos will fade your hair quicker. If you can afford it, I would get a color-protecting shampoo and/or conditioner. Avoid sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate because they will strip the color and make it fade way faster.

Thank you for the tip Eris, I'm gonna try that now.

Blue actually doesn't look very good when faded, especially if your hair isn't bleached or isnt bleached light enpough. Blue is actually the hardest color to dye your hair and it will usually fade into a gross green. I love purple because it usually fades into pink, and pink will just fade into a lighter pink. I've never actually done red (I don't think it would work with my complexion) but I've heard it fades to an orange-y color. Also (I just learned this) red hair fades the fastest because red color molecules are the largest and therefore do not "soak" into the hair strand as well.
