Where I live there’s a lot of flooding right now. It was really bad yesterday. Today the water has went down a lot and most people and their houses are alright, but there has been some damage to the community schools and baseball and soccer fields. Anyone else have flooding currently?
No flooding where I live. I've never actually seen a real flood. Is it… I dunno… scary? I mean, if your posting this, you should be all right, right?
I've had natural distasters before, but no tornado, no hurricane, no flood, no tsunami. Couple of fires and a handful of minor earthquakes is basically it.
Oh. Cool-
Ugh.
I just happen to reply "cool" for everything.
It wasn’t that scary because most houses in our neighborhood didn’t get flooding on the main floor, but our basement flooded again. I was actually at a friend’s house when the main floor of her house started flooding and that was shocking at first. Once the water started to get past of few inches we were a little freighted. It was really upsetting to her parents as well. Like I said, the most damage was actually to playing fields like soccer and baseball. The school also had some damage to it, but school wasn’t cancelled. The park had terrible flooding and lots of it will have to be replaced. There was some injuries, but thankfully no deaths because the water was no more than a few feet high at most in the houses. The park had so much water because it is on lower land! So really it wasn’t that terrible and I’m very thankful that it wasn’t worse.
I’ve seen worse. I’ve been in a really bad earthquake too. Been in a few mild tornadoes.
The only thing my city has been through is the eruption of Mt. St Helens. I wasn't alive back then, though.
Portland was covered with 3 feet of ash
Yeah. The pictures where gruesome.

Tornadoes???
I mean, there was a flood at my city when I was 3 years old but I hadn't moved there when it happened.

They were mild. Except for this one. It destroyed several houses in my neighborhood and our fence. It also put a whole family in the hospital. The mom was in emergency condition, the dad was in critical condition, and the teen boy broke his arm. Their house was completely destroyed and our neighborhood collected donations for the family and other families that needed it.
That was plenty of months ago. We are all fine now. Everyone in that family lived.
