My main series is a huge story taking place thousands of years ago to modern day. The main story is in modern, and the lore takes place thousands of years ago.
I'm thinking of making a second series of a second generation, Gen2, the children of the main characters of the first. The reasons for this is I left some major plot holes in book three, the last book of Gen1, about a hidden historical event that changed the very world itself.
The thing is, I've seen many videos stating never to go too in depth with your stories, to let the readers think up what happens next. Is this really true? Is too much imagination and storytelling toxic for the stories? And does this idea apply to that?
