I like ties! I never get to wear them because they're "not ladylike"

Screw what's ladylike, and what isn't, you wear whatever the Hell you like Dusk.

Can ya please call me Lex? I'm experimenting with names…

Also, thanks. But, my parents won't like it. They think ther is only 2 genders no matter how much I try to tell them no

Okay then, Lex…

@Sammy H.

Nah.
I am fine.
Plus short hair doesn’t really look feminine.

Short hair can make you look wild and dangerous, if you want that!

But I am just somewhat smol child that does not want to stand out…

Thank you! I know it's weird but I wanna find a name that fits!

I don’t want to stand out more than I do.

Yeah, but still, clothing doesn't have a gender. MEN wore heels before women really adopted it as a style. Pink wasn't always a "girl color," and I can assure you that historical unnecessary gendering of clothing doesn't stop there. If you think it could work, you could always pull up historical context as evidence, but idk.

So you wanna look more average… That's not my strongsuit… I'm only good at finding clothes that compliment people. Or help them stand out!

I'm aware… But in modern times there are clothes associated with men and women. It doesn't mean that these clothes ARE for just one people, but it means that's whst they are associated with… I use fashion to make myself look more masculine, but I csn use them to look more androgynous, or feminine… You get what I mean, right?

@Shuri-the-Floof-Doggo

Like… I guess what I do, sometimes is use modern fashion asociated with certain gender-roles, to make a person seem more like the gender (or lack thereof) that they want to look like…

It's really difficult to explain…

@Sammy H.

On the outside I try to be average.
I don’t like people seeing the inside of me.
for god sakes don’t take that literally.

Yeah, but I think anyone should be able to wear what they want and not be told they're dressing incorrectly according to their gender. But why do we consider said clothes masculine or feminine? It's not always because they were created that way (I mean, yeah sometimes, but you come up with defenses where you can). I guess a good example would be a girl who wants to wear a suit to prom, but picks out a form-fitting suit that accentuates her figure and sparkly accessories. Her mom tells her no because "suits aren't for ladies." This girl isn't trying to dress more masculine. She just wants to wear a suit, but even a suit with the most "feminine" touches isn't enough for her mother.
I'm not really sure how to explain the main point. I guess it's that not all clothes necessarily make someone look more like one gender, it's just how it's marketed and how society perceives it (sometimes even contrary to former perceptions.)

@Shuri-the-Floof-Doggo

Yeah… That's what I told Lex earlier! I told them "if you you wanna wear something masculine, you go ahead with it"… I agree with you whole-heartedly! But that doesn't mean I can't use modern gender-roles to my advantage doesn't it. As in, say a woman who is typically wearing things considered "feminine" comes to me, and for whatever reason, asks me to help her dress more masculine, because she isn't used to it or whatever… I'm gonna suggest her socially masculine clothes, and suggest she wear them in certain ways… Until gender-roles are destroyed, I'm gonna use them to my liking…

@Becfromthedead group

Okay, yeah. I think more what I meant specifically was people imposing it on others. Sorry if that came across weird. If something makes you feel masculine/feminine/anywhere in between and you want to wear it, that's cool, but there's a big difference between that and having people say you can't wear something because it's "for boys" or something.

@Shuri-the-Floof-Doggo

Definitely! I'm not to into this gender-studies-y stuff… But I know the basics… And I support anyone being who they are, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else… If you're LGBTQ+, be you, and if anyone tries to deny you that right, well screw them!

@Moxie group

I don't think I have a single "usual" fashion style… Uhhh my friends say I dress kinda edgy. Which I guess I can see, as one of my favorite styles is form-fitting dark clothing, usually like black jeans and a tight-fitting top. And I'm almost always wearing my black lace-up boots or converse. When I do makeup, it's always very dark eyeliner and loud lipstick colors like red, purple, brown, or gray. I also like chokers a lot, and small touches of glitter against black.
(Also I agree that hoodies are great. I have this thing where I like wearing hoodies for comfort more so than warmth, so I've got a college sweatshirt I have on a lot of the time.)

(wow you have the exact style I aspire to have)

@Moxie group

My actual style is kinda like a mesh between what I want and what I think is just . . . meh. Like I wear a lot of jeans and a shirt or sweater (I love sweaters so much). But sometimes I'll wear like a mini skirt and tights and a turtleneck. or a sweater over a collared shirt. The other day I wore a black and white plaid collared shirt under a black bomber jacket and it was really cute and a little masculine and I've never felt gayer. But then sometimes I'll just wear a hoodie and jeans. Oh and I wear the same pair of high top converse everyday.

Awesome!

@gracehustle

my style is usually just a t-shirt and jeans with an oversized sweatshirt (in the winter)and a pair of my beat up running shoes…I don't tend to wear much makeup, usually just mascara and either light eyeshadow or a little bit of eyeliner (I'm not very good with makeup)
though I wish I could find more styles that I like and that look good on me….
