That's awesome NutElla!!!
Oh no guys I'm freaking out.
The United Methodist Church (which I am a part of) is currently holding a conference about if they should accept LGBTQA+ members into the church and if they should be able to hold same sex weddings and stuff.
If the Methodist Church decides to keep the LGBTQA+ community away, my church will either decide to not be Methodist or I won't be allowed in my church anymore. They'll probably decide to not be Methodist but then we'll have to change our finances, religious texts, format, etc. and we still haven't found a new building to worship in after we lost our old one.
Yeesh that sucks
Praying for you now.
Sending prayers your way
Oof that sucks.
I'll pray for you!!
On a slightly related note, I'm getting confirmed this year in May and MY DIOCESE STILL DOESN'T HAVE A BISHOP AND I'M PANICKING!!!
oof
I also haven't figured out my confirmation name but that's a whole nother issue.
I'm thinking Chiara-Joan, but I'm not sure because Chiara is a Blessed and not a Saint and since there's no Bishop I don't know if I'll be able to get it cleared. However Evelyn Chiara-Joan Lucielle sounds hella regal.
her Majesty Evelyn Chiara-Joan Lucielle, queen of Wisconsin
Yeah boi!
I really like to use the "Not in my good Christian server!" meme at my house a lot whenever my friends are over, except since we go to a Catholic school, it's "Not in my good Protestant household!"
LOL😂😂😂

I saw this post on tumblr, and thought of you. This post is being passed around through quite a few religious and LGBTQIA+ affirming tumblr people and has lots of support. It's talking about everything that's going on with the Church and has lots of lots of links to support and articles and lots of just good information. There is a lot of support for you and lot's of people are praying for everyone in the Methodist Church in this time of anxiousness tension and potential change. It's important to know you aren't alone in your worries, we're here. and I wanted to share this verse, since it's not something that will be scoffed at in this chat, as support, John 16:33 says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
I pray for peace and provision not only for you but for the entire Methodist Church, that hearts and lives might be changed and more people see God through this. If God could turn the heart of Saul and help him spread the gospel more than any others, and if he could soften the heart of Pharaoh towards the Israelites, then he can soften the heart of the Church towards the LGBTQIA+ community, do not give up hope!
Oh my gosh thank you so much @thehobbit
hey, the LGBT+ community is there so support each other, and so is the body of Christ, it's the least I could do. I mean, It can be a struggle LGBTQIA+ and Christian, Im Asexual and Aromantic, and I get it, the church can be a really tough place to be sometimes. I'm not in the Methodist Church myself, but I go to a Christian University and honestly the climate on campus is rather anti-LGBT+ issues and that's hard enough to deal with. I cant imagine the stress your whole community must be under. I just want to support you as best I can.

I'm a Catholic biromantic-asexual girl and I'm here for you too, Poof!
You guys are so sweet and amazing thank you so much.

Horray!!! That's amazing!
My good, Christian sense of humor has gotten a bit old, so it's time to hold a funeral for it. Rest in pancakes.
So the UMC general conference is over…
They've decided that no same sex couples can be married through the church and no LGBTQA+ people can be pastors
Well, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, but at least you can still go to church!
Then again you might want to consider a different church……..
Well the UMC is probably going to split over this, like the Baptist church did a while ago. My church is very open so they are planning on leaving the UMC or something along that line.

I'm so sorry bb. That sucks. I'll pray for you!

That's basically discrimination. I'm sorry.
