I know there are a lot of writing competitions out there (a few of which I am in) but I decided to just put this idea out there anyway, just in case anybody is interested.
Prompt: Pick a cliche from this list and make it as interesting as possible in a short story no longer than 800 words.
- Bad boy and nerdy/shy girl fall in love
- Love at first sight
- All the powers of a superhero are in one small object that can easily be stolen
- The power of friendship helps you win any fight
- A 12 year old kid can solve complicated problems that adults can't even come close to figuring out
Due date is this Wednesday, results released this friday (if anybody is interested). All are welcome to join!
Ooh this interesting, may I join?

Yes, of course! All are welcome :)
Yay! Thx. I love trying to challenge myself, and tbh writing competitions are rlly fun.
Here to help judge! If that's alright, that is.

That's fine, lol. Gonna need some competitors though XD
Ooh this looks really cool! May I join?
( but I have a quick question: how close do we have to stay to the cliche?)

Yeah, you can join. And you can't change the cliche, but you can twist the story to make it interesting. Like if you're using the "love at first sight" prompt, you can write a fantasy short story where people have a soulmate (or more than one soulmate) and locking eyes with them will connect the two. Then add a simple but interesting plot to the story.
(Cliches are fun to write, especially with twists(wow that was random))
Oof there are only two competitors
sounds ineresting so i'll join too, though idk how entries get submitted
The entries are submitted by typing your story on whatever platform you'd like to use, then copying and pasting the story as a reply on here.
