As in the heavier swords, not epees (used for fencing), I'm not big on terminology but… long sword, broadsword?

I'm not an expert, but I believe something like that is long and weighted enough to be used as a pretty decent cane. A crutch can basically be anything that's strong enough to support someone's weight, so as long as it's sturdy it should be relatively fine.

Generally speaking, yes…? It would cause significant damage to the blade, as well as the possibility of shattering it completely, but on the other hand if the sword is too flexible (Google Spring Steel sword) it will simply bend under the weight.
I would say yes, in an emergency situation, a longsword could function as a cane.

It depends if the sword is bearing all or only part of the person’s weight. I’m not expert on swords, but I’ve used a katana before and unless you put a ton of your weight on it it won’t severely damage it. Because of the curve of the blade on a katana you might not want to use a katana anyway, though.

With heavier-weighted swords, yes but only for a short time and that's especially true with swords that have a very defined or pointed end. Don't try this with lighter swords like a rapier. That thing will bend so much under your weight and then snap back and probably injure the person.
