I'm starting to learn how to do animation and I need inspiration for things to draw. My animations so far have been short and simple, so please don't give me anything too hard :)
The inspiration can be a video, a drawing or picture, or just your own words, i just need SOMETHING bc i have no idea what to do

I like to animate my characters, mainly them interacting or just changing expressions. Its really nice because it helps me understand them and their personalities, and gets me practice haha.
You could also do things like a walk cycle or run cycle!
ooh yeah that'd probably be a good idea, I need to work on understanding not just how body parts look from one angle but how they move, so good idea! What do you use to do animations?
Well i've used lots of different programs!
I've used toon boom animate, I can't remember if it's free or not haha. I've also used photoshop a realllyyy long time ago, its not bad, but it's really not made for animation. I've used another one called Open Toonz, I believe the creators of Princess Mononoke used it to animate some parts of the film, its free too and isn't half bad. Now I currently use adobe animate, I actually like it and I'm able get it for free since I have a family member who works for adobe. I do think firealpaca has an animation set up as well, but i'm not 100% on that
No matter what program you use, its gonna take a while to get used to since most animation programs are completely different from normal drawing programs!
cool! I use animation assist on procreate, although before that came out I used Autodesk. I think I like Procreate okay, mostly because I can do it wherever I am as long as I have my tablet, but I do wish there were a few more features on there
Oh nice! I've thought about getting procreate to use when i'm away from my computer!
I'm actually working on a little animation right now thats like 3 seconds long lol, but a 3 second animation takes me days because i'm so slow at it haha
Lol really? I just finished my first one a few days ago, it took me a few hours and it’s only about 3 seconds long too XD

Ehh I like doing short animations sometimes, sometimes I will take existing drawings that I've finished and add some kind of simple animation to it so that's always fun

Yeah I've seen animations like that before where the only thing moving is something small but it makes a difference
