How would you describe a white person's (for lack of a better term) skin?
How would you describe a white person's (for lack of a better term) skin?
try pale, or fair, or tawny
for lack of a better world always go for the one that implies something, in this case a color, instead of stating it head on
I agree with @KaceyMarie in that you could definitely use pale, fair, or tawny, but sometimes it's best to state that the character is white and move on - especially if they're a background character. My personal preference would err towards the latter and stay away from food-based names, but that's just me. ^^;
Maniac McGee (I think that was what it was called) mentioned how he had a variety of different colors on his skin and really didn't understand why he was called white. Or why the people on the other side of the tracks were all labeled with one color when each of them were a different shade and it went into a full description. Hope that helps?
