(That's fine. I wish you luck in life!)
Raina sighed through her mask. She had guard duty. She usually loved guard duty but it was foggy. When there was fog it was so hard to tell what was a threat or fog. She pulled her jacket closer to her. She pulled out a lighter and started flicking it on and off. She loved watching fire. It looked so alive and warm.
Dara sighed through her dumb oxygen mask, flicking at it with her finger. She didn't actually need to use it, but in order to blend in, the contraption had to stay firmly fixed to her face. Mutely, she leaned against a tree trunk, her eyes on the girl staring into the fire. Raina. Subject 27726. If Dara was honest with herself, Raina was one of her favorite test subjects. There was something about the girl that was just so…human. Even now, she was staring at the fire with the utmost fascination. What a human thing to do! Dara resisted the urge to take notes on the behavior.
Raina sighed as she hopped down from the low tree branch she was on. She looked around before grabbing a big branch. She lit the top on fire, which lit up the whole area around her. "That's better." She said as she found a spot to set the flaming branch down, before taking back out the lighter and flicking it absentmindedly.
Cathy stood by the entrance, watching Raina.
Dara shifted her gaze towards Cathy, subject 27724. The girl was also watching Raina. Dara still had trouble reading human emotion, so she wasn't sure what was going on in Cathy's head.
Caterina's face felt itchy under the gas mask. She saw the fire and guessed that was where she was supposed to go. She was put on guard duty for the first time so they paired her up with another person. she thought her name was Raina.
Raina looked over at a person coming in the distance. "Hey Cathy!" She shouted. "Isn't that the new watch person?" She asked, motioning her head in the direction of Caterina. She had the small feeling that she was being watched but she shrugged it off for now. Cathy and Caterina were both out here so it could easily be one of them.
Cathy looked in the direction Raina motioned to.
"I think so."
Cat walked closer to the fire until she reached who she thought was Raina. "Hi, I'm Caterina, Cat for short. I was told to meet you since it's my first day." She said sounding a little nervous.
Raina chuckled. "Welcome to the apocalypse, Cat." She out streached her hand for Cat to shake. "I'm Raina and Cathy's over there." She said pointing her head to wear Cathay was.
Cat shook her hand and half smiled. "so what exactly do I have to do?" she asked.
"We mostly just walk around the area and look for anything suspicious. If it looks like an Alien or a wild animal has been near, we alert camp. Got it?" Raina explained. "Not much to do out here but at least you're not cooped up in camp."
Cat nodded "Yeah sounds simple enough," she said before going and starting her job. she walked around and stayed aware of her surroundings.
"Hey!" Raina yelled as Cat started walking off. "You might want this." She said, grabbing the branch she had lit on fire as she walked over at Cat. "You can't see very well in this fog."
"oh thanks, she said carefully taking the stick. She continued to walk around with the stick held out far away from her face.
"Relax!" Raina shouted. "It's not the fire that's going to get 'ya! It's the stuff in the woods!" Raina yelled as Cat walked off. "I got to follow her, Cathy. You go on back into camp." She told Cathy as she started walking behind Cat.
Cathy watched this from where she was, her gas mask making it impossible to read her face. She didn't move.
"It's a stick that's on fire. Of course, it's going to get me," she half-joked looking over at Raina.
