Consider this - a world where magic is used by not only humans, but animals and plants as well. Creatures that use air to their advantage, using it to fly. Creatures who have magical calls that can be heard across a large stretch of land or attacks that could stun an opponent/prey. Plants with curses to keep people away - people tricking others to pick the cursed plants to kill/harm them. Plants with more magical energy than others that can be used to boost magic in a person. Plants that glow, or sing. Plant spirits. "Fire lilies" that burst into flame to spread their seeds. Epiphytes (or "air plants" - orchids and bromiliads) that don't need to grow on trees, but just float through the air. Grasses in cold climates warming themselves and melting the snow to get water. There's a lot you could do with this, if you want.
I hope this inspires you!
@Ember Ris thank you soooooooooo much! i had never thought of that!
This is exactly why I made this post was for creative help. Again, Thank you.
War roses. Metallic golden blooms, only bloom after they completely trust you. Great for use in life-saving tonics, but once you harm it in any way to create a spell or potion it never opens for you again and gaining its trust in the first place can take years, even a lifetime
I have a plant I call Angel's Rose. It's a rose with white and gold petals that when you smell it gives you an intense wave of peace. If they're touched by human hands, they instantly wither and die, so you have to use gloves to work with them. They can heal pretty much anything (they can't cure the dead), and I have a very poisonous plant in my world that it is the only cure for. They only bloom in the spring, they're very rare, their magic only works when they're in bloom, and they grow deep in forests where patches of light shine through the trees. Each rose only drops one seed in its lifetime, so the flowers are almost gone (especially with so many people desperate to get them).
In my fantasy world the people can have trouble controling their magical abilities. Luckily there is a type of plant with thick roots that when ground and drank will dampen most power types to make the abilities more manageable. It’s a kind of risk though because it’s very addictive and expensive.
In my world, there is a tree when its leaves are eaten it can kill people who are immortal and strengthen those who aren't. Its called the Power Breaker. Wish I had some!!
