"So you mean this might have happened before?"
"My grandpa was there when it happened," Oleta said.
"Apparently," Ezra shrugged. "But if it has happened before, I've never heard of it." He looked around at the other people in the clearing, then back at the two humans. "I'll help you guys as much as I can. If anyone else wants to tag along, they can."
“Thank you, this place is so confusing.” She gave Ezra a small smile in thanks.
"Yeah, I could get lost in here."
"It gets better once you've lived here a while," Ezra said. He looked at the other people in the clearing. "Do any of you want to come along?"
"Might as well. It's very loney around this part of the forest."
"I'll come, I haven't been into the city in quite some time"
Nienna nodded. "Of course I'm coming, I haven't been out of the forest in awhile anyway."
"Coolio," Ezra said. "Then let's get going." He walked out of the clearing, back the way he had come and hoped the others followed.
Aramis did and was soon instep with Ezra, “So, if you’re a mage then what magic can you do?” She asked.
His magic wasn't exactly Ezra's favourite topic, but he didn't want to be rude or give a bad impression of their world. "Well, I umm… can control certain parts of nature."
Aramis noticed his change in demeanour, “That’s cool, sorry if I made you uncomfortable.”
"It's okay, you didn't," Ezra said, feeling a little bad. "I'm just… not the best at magic."
“Well, you’re better then me. I’m sure you’re great.” She said giving him a little nudge with her elbow.
"Yeah, I would kill for at least a little bit of magic."
Ezra chuckled. "Thanks." he said. He glanced at Nikki. "Even for a little bit of magic, you've got to read. And practice. It comes easier to some people, but even the naturally gifted have their limits."
"Yeah, but humans can only dream of magic. We can't actually achieve it. It's 'not in out DNA'."
"What's DNA?" Oleta asked, following the group.
"Apparently it's like all the atoms or something that make up your body. I don't know. I always zoned out in science."
"Wait. So like PTQ?"
“Nikki, DNA is the genes in your body. Everyone has different genes they inherit from their ancestors but humans all have something that makes us, us. And what’s PTQ?” Aramis asked.
"Yeah, well, like I said, I always zoned out in science. But I agree with Aramis. What's PTQ?"
