yup
sounds about right
fun times shall follow in our wake
Name: Cicada Flare
Age: 18
Sexuality: Pansexual
Gender: Female
Appearance: Long unkempt dark red hair, cold chocolate brown eyes, tan skin, freckles along her cheek bones, stands at around 5', has scars from a fire on her arms and face, and is fairly skinny. She wears a brown cloak with a hood to hide her face, a faded red tunic, dark brown pants, and lighter brown boots.
Abilities: Naturally she can control and create fire and see ghosts, but she's learning how to cast spells and use runes through trial and error. It's been interesting to say the least.
Background: Doesn't tell, she's lived alone for a long time and adjusting to being with living people is… Difficult to say the least.
Other: Has flame like tattoos covering where her scars are.
Shipping: Yes
Name: Cinthia Gryffard
Age: 19 (she can be older if need be)
Sexuality: Questioning, but might be convinced to swing either way
Gender: Female
Appearance:She's very self-conscious about her appearance since she looks different from her entire family. She's a very lean but athletic girl with typically subtle curves, except her waist creates a pronounced hourglass shape. Her skin has a darkish olive complexion, but her left arm, some parts of her left side and leg, and spots on the left side of her face and neck have faintish burns on them. Her eyes are heterochromia, the right eye a light blue and the left a dark green. She's very self-conscious about her eyes and will usually do her best to hide them, as well as the burns. She has a long and large mass of tight black curls (or black with silver streaks, depending on how the light is hitting on it) that invade her face and refuse to be tamed. (they look like this) If she's feeling frisky, she'll have the one side of her head braided into cornrows. Other than that, she usually just lets it be and brushes it every once in a while–though, that doesn't really make much of a difference. Faint scars pepper her body. She's somewhat tall at 5'7.
Background: I'm gonna reveal most of it during the roleplay, but here's the basic gist of it. She was adopted by the royal family for her alleged royal bloodline, one of which was rumored to have existed for thousands of years and fell into obscurity over the years. She got into trouble a lot as a child, often sneaking into the kitchens to steal some leftovers or pastries. One of the cooks wasn't a fan of her and decided to teach her a lesson by throwing boiling water onto her. Needless to say, he was fired, and Cinthia is now even more insecure and reserved than she was as a child. She took to fighting as a way to cope with all of her issues, as well as learning different languages and some other things. Her issues will be revealed.
Personality: She is a natural-born leader, able to appease to virtually anyone once given the time to analyze their interests and personalities. However, most people she has met either hates her or loves her, there is no in between. Her allies are willing to stand behind her no matter the cause. While very intelligent and a quick thinker, she typically opts for improvisation over meticulous plans. This is because she firmly believes that thought-out plans leave little room for mistakes or unaccounted moves on the opponent's part. She knows who she is working with, so she'll call on a select few to handle situations how they feel it should be handled. If the situation truly calls for it, she will step in and layout a strategy that almost always works in their favor. She is usually withdrawn but can be an excellent speaker when need be, moving people to her side with relative ease. She takes the time to get to know people so that she is more present and likable. She also relates to those who have gone through similar experiences as she had, so that gains even more respect. She doesn't think of herself as more important or more deserving than others, often forgetting her title as a royal and sometimes completely dismissing it. She can be intimidating to those she doesn't know and has no interest in gaining their approval, but that is only a facade hiding how caring she truly is. That being said, if you get on her nerves for too long, she won't hesitate to hurtle the nearest object at your head. Don't worry. She'll miss on purpose :) Following the intimidating side of her, she is absolutely ruthless towards her enemies, not hesitating to make a kill if she needs to. Language nerd.
Other: A tattoo covering the burn that looks like a harsh tangle of vines. Depending on who looks at it, different 'pictures' could be seen within the dark pattern.
Shipping: Sure, but it'll be hard.
(Sorry, I just really love this character and have spent forever developing her in my mind)

(I'll post the starter in a bit.)
Alexander Gryffard sat on his throne next to his sister. After his parents had been killed on the road to another kingdom, Cinthia and he had been in charge. The witches that had been preventing travel through the forest had been caught earlier that day and were being brought to the castle. He heard a commotion outside the door, signaling that they were here.
A guard walked into the throne room. "They are here, your highness. What would you like us to do?" He asked, saluting.
"Bring them in." He said calmly. The guard nodded and walked out to retrieve them.
Cinthia sat back in her chair, fingers idly drumming the armrests of her smaller throne. She would never admit it, of course, but the king and queen's deaths didn't leave her in as much grief as it should've. They never felt like family to her as much as Alexander had. He made many efforts to be a good brother to her, and she loved him dearly for it. His parents, however…well, it was she that hadn't made much of an effort to be a good daughter—or princess, for that matter.
A guard announced the arrival of the witches, and Alexander ordered him to bring them in. She sat up slightly, interested in watching this play out.
Cicada hated being in chains, hated that she could see the ghosts of everyone who had died here in the castle. Noticing that the closer they got to the throne room, the more frequent seeing ghosts were. She tried not to look at them as it would simple unnerve in the ways they died or the manner why they were staying. Ghosts always had a reason to stay in the place they died, and Cicada wasn't going to be the one to find out.
The king calling them in broke her train of thought and straightened her back as they were about to be pulled in to meet the ever so 'kind' rulers this nation had.
Instead of being greeted by the king as Cicada expected, she was greeted with Alexander and Cinthia. The king and queens death was quite recent and the public was only notified a few days ago. Alexander looked over Cicada. "You know why you are here, of course." He said. His eyes flickered over to Cinthia, seeing her interest.
Cicada was a little surprised to see the prince and princess on the throne, but much less surprised when she spotted their parents ghosts standing nearby there children. So they were dead now as well. She rolled her eyes, "Yes, because I'm just a little pest. So go ahead. Do your thing. I'm not going to try and stop you at this point."
Cinthia propped her head up on a fist, a ghost of an amused smile on her lips. "Snippy snippy," she said. Her eyes were recolored thanks to drops she got from a magical friend of hers. They were both of them a leafy green today, which is the go-to color she had for recoloring. Her dress, as per usual, covered most of her body while remaining slightly stylish, as required from a princess. The burns on her face were hidden behind a meticulously placed curtain of curls, obscuring a fraction of her vision.
"What do you think is going to happen?" Alexander asked her, already knowing that she thought she was going to be killed. She was going to be in for a surprise. They needed them.
"Oh that I'll be joining your parents' ghosts here in the throne room in just a minute or so," Cicada responded not staring at the prince. No rather past him to where the king stood beside the throne.
Alex seemed taken aback by her answer but carried on with what he was going to say. "No. You are not going to be killed. We are asking for your assistance." He said, straightening his back.
Cicada's eyes snapped to the prince, her eyes were wide with slight shock. She had been so sure they were going to kill her, "Ask me for assistance? There are plenty of other's you could ask, certainly not some hermit witch from the woods."
Cinthia remained silent, letting Alexander handle this. He clearly had a plan for these witches, and she was smart enough to keep her mouth shut and let it play out. That was what she did best—until, of course, she had an opportunity to put her two cents in and absolutely turn it into her favor. This wasn't one of those moments, as long as Alexander wasn't planning anything heinous for the captured witches. Then she'd speak up.
She liked this one, though. Quite the tongue on her, despite talking to a prince. Most people clammed up and only gave the barest of answers when spoken to. This one wasn't afraid of speaking her mind with a sliver of attitude sprinkled in.
"There is a rebellion happening. I need someone who I know is not part of it. Seeing how you were in the woods most of the time I think it is safe to assume you are not part of it." He said standing up.
"Oh really?" Cicada wanted to cross her arms, but that was hard to do that in chains. She leaned back a little instead, "How do you know I'm not leading it in the woods? By myself. With no one to talk to but ghosts. I see your point now."
Cinthia flicked her gaze between the witch and Alexander. So he was planning on using them for. . . what? What was it he was hoping to gain? He hadn't told her what he was going to do with the witches besides the fact that he would handle it. Is this what he had meant? Give them a second chance? She sat up straighter, eyeing the witch to see if she could gauge just how useful she'd be in any particular scenario—she was bored and missing her usual sparring right about now.
"You can use magic. That will be useful and it would be a waste for such talent to go down the drain. I'm offering you a second chance. Stick with us and you can have a new start. One where you're not hiding in the woods to practice magic, but here in the castle. We can get you any supplies you need and protect you. All you have to do is swear your loyalty to us." Alexander explained. He really wanted this to work. He had been suspecting there and traitors in the castle and bandits were not the cause of his parent's death.
"Well I hope I can use magic. It's not like I can turn it off or something like that," Cicada almost snarked back, "But I don't see why not. Might be nice living in a building for a change."
"Then swear your undying loyalty to us," Alexander demanded. "Swear that you will not betray or over through us. To both me and my sister." He just needed someone he could actually trust to not stab him in the back, other than his sister.
