Olivia shook her head. "I don't think so."
Olivia shook her head. "I don't think so."
"Okay." he nodded. "Well, just in case, here's my number. If you ever do need anything I want you to call me." he said, writing it down on a napkin and sliding it to her.
Olivia hesitated to take it. She wasn't very trusting nowadays.
"I'm not going to do anything to you." Tyler reassured. "Its just my number. If you don't want it thats okay, but I would really like to help."
"It's just…..I don't trust people easily anymore. They have to show me that I can trust them."
"Understandable. What can I do to make you trust me?" he asked, leaning back in his chair.
"I don't know. What could you do?"
"I could tell you something about myself that I've never told anybody else." he suggested. "But if you don't trust me, how will you know I'm not lying? This is really difficult."
"You tell me, and I guess we'll see."
"Okay then." Tyler murmured. This would be difficult. "I… my…" he began, but he had no clue what to say. "I've never had a girlfriend, and I've never had a sister, and the only woman I've ever been close to was my mom. But she passed away." he said, hoping this would work. Why did I just tell her that. Thats pathetic. he realized.
Olivia could tell that he was being sincere, and placed her hand on his.
Tyler bit his lip, and gave a pleading look to Olivia. "Did it work?"
Olivia smiled and nodded.
He sighed in relief. "Okay good. That was agonizing. So, is it a boy or a girl?" he asked, sipping his coffee.
"It's a girl. I'm going to name her Elizabeth, after my mother."
"Thats a really pretty name. I got named after my mom's brother, who is actually now in jail for theft. So I guess we don't all get named after cool people."
"I was named after Olivia Newton-John, who my mum was obsessed with as a child. I don't tell many people that."
"Oh wow." he winced. "Well at least that means you trust me."
"Yeah, I guess it does."
