"Maybe." Ally relented somewhat, sighing through her nose. "But if you decide you desperately need to move from point A to point B, get someone t' be there with you."
"Maybe." Ally relented somewhat, sighing through her nose. "But if you decide you desperately need to move from point A to point B, get someone t' be there with you."
Dorian saluted as best he could, "Understood." He gave her one last glance before he headed back to the couch, making himself comfortable. Turns out he was more tired then he thought because soon he was out cold.
Ally rolled her eyes, slipping out of the kitchen to check on him and make sure he'd made it, before grabbing her coat and slipping it on. She stepped outside, with every intention of gathering as much information as she could before Dorian woke.
((Yuppers.))
This time, it was Allisandra that woke Dorian up. "C'mon, Princey. Wake the fuck up." She flickered a look towards the hall that led to the front door, where the sound of multiple voices could be heard. Muttering a string of curses, she shoved aside the impending panic at just the thought of what she was abut to do and pushed up the sleeves of her coat. And then she scooped up Dorian, shifting him to set his feet on the ground. She wouldn't be able to carry him that long, so it was best to save that strength for if it was really needed.
Dorian woke shortly after that, blinking his eyes open, “All right all right I’m up what’s the matter?” He asked, getting steady on his feet. He was still slightly half asleep but whatever he was woken up for just have been important. He was guessing anyway.
"Quiet, or they'll hear." Ally instructed in a low voice, slipping silently out the back door while supporting Dorian. Once in the small back yard, which was less cluttered as inside the house, she motioned to a gate on the fence. "We need to leave. Now."
"The hells are they even doing?" Dorian mumbled, mainly to himself then to Ally. He nodded once in response, grateful that she was supporting him but he pulled away, knowing he should be okay to walk or speed walk away.
Ally visibly relaxed as she let him go, picking up the pace across the yard to unlock the gate and pull it open. "There're Royal Guards stationed all over the city. Apparently, our friends have figured out you ain't dead and sent word out."
"Call them friends one more time and I'll bash my head in." He muttered, nodding his thanks before he slipped through the gate. Luckily it was dark, and the darkness was where he felt the most comfortable. He released a small breath, looking around cautiously.
She shut the gate behind them, making it look like it had never even been opened, and cast one last look at the house. Something flashed through her eyes, regret, or guilt, or something along those lines, before she was turning and leading Dorian down the dark alley. "This way."
Dorian followed close behind, easily blending into the shadows of the ally. Hopefully they'd be able to make it out of the city before they were caught but with the amount of guards that were probably around the chances were slim.
Move quick and move quiet. It was a mantra, one that Ally had been repeating since she was capable of knowing what the words meant. A flash of black up above as the Assassin led Dorian through various alleyways made it obvious Gyriel had followed, and Ally's anxiety in her gut eased just slightly.
Dorian had also had an unnatural talent for keeping quiet, despite his size and appearance. The dark was where he seemed to thrive, where he felt at home and at peace which was strange to say the least. But he didn't care before and he wasn't going to start caring now.
"The boat woulda been our best bet, but we'll head in t' the heart. Stick to crowds." Gods, Ally couldn't stand crowds, but there was more to worry about. She'd suck it up the best she could, until they could get a hold of some sort of wagon or caravan.
At the mention of boats, Dorian seemed to tense up just a little, gritting his teeth slightly, "There's no way in Hell I'm getting on a boat." He mumbled.
"Tha's what I figured. Which is why we're headin' away from the wharf." Ally said, unconcerned by the slight change in demeanor. One of her hands lifted slightly, fingers moving quickly and pointing ahead before dropping again. Signing to Gyriel, letting the crow know to keep an eye out,
Dorian barely noticed the hand movement but he did, just. He looked from Ally to the sky, then back to the assassin, "How long have you had your bird?" He asked, forcing himself to relax himself and not be so tense.
"Gyriel?" Ally glanced back at him, before looking forward once more. "Well, I wouldn' call her mine. She prolly wouldn' like that too much. But…we've been companions for abou' two years now." She owed so much to the bird, including her escape from that place.
Dorian nodded in understanding, looking up at the sky then back to the path ahead. They'd obviously been though some shit if they'd been together were so long and trusted each other completely, "Long time… you're lucky you've got a faithful companion."
Ally snorted wryly, pausing to let Dorian catch up before turning down a different side street. "She's an ass, and the bitchiest bird I ever met. But you're right, I couldn' ask for a better pal." She flickered a glance back at him again, nose scrunched slightly as she thought something over.
Dorian caught the movement and narrowed his eyes slightly at her, “What? What are you thinking about?” He asked, blowing a strand of hair out of his face.
"Wonderin' if ya got any experience with weapons." Ally said, quirking an eyebrow just slightly at him. With a flick of her hand, a small knife was poised between her fingertips as she looked at him.
Dorian raised an eyebrow back, "More then people think I do." He replied. He didn't go around flaunting that he was pretty good with a sword or his magic, he liked to keep that information to himself.
"Good. Take this 'till we can grab ya whatever suits ya better." Ally held the knife out, handle first, without a break in her steps. It was a small knife, with a few characters of a different language engraved into the blade.
