Ciana looked at the tree, then looked at Leo. "You should conserve your energy, we have food."

Taking a step back, Ginger stared own the small apple tree as if expecting a trick or attack. "Yeah, take it easy." she added after Ciana. "You're gonna need your energy for travel. Hey, you already grabbed our stuff didn't you." she turned to Elias. "Good, now I don't have to!" She bumped him with her elbow. "Where would we be without you, Eli?"

"Lost and without our stuff" Elias said boldly, "I am an essential being of these team, totally one hundred percent needed, Devon just doesnt see it" he grinned before Dev could get a word in.

Leo smiled and nodded when they told him to conserve his energy, "Ok…I should be fine though."
When Elias made a joke, he laughed and looked at Devon, "Are we good to go? I can't wait to see this town. Normal people are so interesting."

Ciana nodded. "They are. Even other royals are so different…" She grabbed her pack, throwing on a new clean shirt.

Ginger bounced slightly on her feet, glad to get back on track. "Do you know about how many days' travel we are from the capital?" she asked Devon. Her stomach sank as she remembered that she would have to see the Ice Princess again. 'I'll have Ciana's illusion, it'll be fine,' she reminded herself. But nerves still slithered in her belly, quiet for now, but sure to become much worse.

"Well, based on the time, I'd say we walk until the edges of the city, find an Inn, and keep going tomorrow. Its half a days walk from the city edge, and im not sure how far that is from us, just know its north." Devon said thoughtfully.

Leo looked up and stated, "Around 6 miles from the city edge." His earth powers gave him good geography skills. He looked at Devon, "What exactly should we write to our parents? If we just tell them there could be a war, we might accidentally start one anyways. They'll want to make the first attack."

"We could tell them that there are whispers of a rebellion, and not to retaliate against an act without combleatly making sure they know who did it?" Ciana suggested, gathering light for Ginger's illusion.

Ginger nodded in agreement to Ciana. "I'll be thinking of the right words until we get to our next stop." After watching Ciana gather the light for a few more seconds, she asked, "Hey, what does the illusion look like? I haven't checked a mirror with the disguise in place."

Devon rolled his eyes. "The Dark King wants to takeover, but wont make a move until I return with the source peices, as he is literally poweless. I was cursed with being the only known Dark heir with power in a few centuries. So frankly, I'd rather you not tell your parents, because if my father finds out im plotting against him, it risks ruining my plans"

Leo nods and perks up, "Shall we get going?" He stands next to Elias as he seems the least scary so far. Making sure he has his knapsack, he tugs up his sleeves to reveal his muscular arms from gardening. He also wipes the blood from his forehead off his freckles and smiles.

Ciana nodded. To Ginger, she said: "You look like a mix between an Ice citizen and an Electric Citizen, our story is Elias is traveling with his cousin- you, his boyfriend- Devon, and is cousin's best friend- me. Now we have to include the earth heir in this story, I guess…."

Ginger raised her eyebrows. "Do I make a hot Ice-Electric citizen?" She looked down at her arms as if checking them out. She looked at Elias. "Whaaaaaat, I'm not dark and brooding enough to be your girlfriend?" she teased. She had met Elias a few times at the annual gatherings, and considered him a friend. She only flirted with him because she knew he flirted with everyone else and it necessarily mean anything unless they both wanted it to, which she didn't. She pouted at him with all her might, sticking her bottom lip out as far as it could go.
Ginger looked Leo up and down when Ciana mentioned fitting him into their alibi. "You wanna be mine, pretty earth boy?" She smirked at him, not hiding her derision and amusement at the lie.

(Oh yes, stand next to the group flirt and show off muscles lol-)

Leo blushed and shrugged, "Um…ok? I'm a little concerned about everyone's dynamic here but…" He looked over at Devon and raised an eyebrow. Leo was still trying to figure him out and with Devon being all mysterious, it wasn't helping.
Leo looked at Ginger and offered her, his arm, "Shall we go?"

Ginger walked right past him, ignoring his proffered arm. "Ah, it's just an alibi for everyone else." She told him as she. walked out the door. "But yes, we should get going." She didn't look back to see if the others were following.

Devon grumbled about not being Elias' boyfriend but otherwise just huffed, grabbing his bag and started walking in the general direction of the keep.

Elias beamed at the alibi, any excuse to cling to Devon would be great, "you do know I am friends with Winter, right? Prolly his only friend outside of his twin"

Leo followed close behind Elias, he seemed to be the only one he trusted right now. He quietly grew flowers in his hand to entertain himself while they walked.

Ciana, despite the cold, took off her jacket for several minutes at a time, whenever the sun peeked through the clouds. When the others looked at her doing this, she shrugged. "I need to recharge. This is how I am currently able to do so."

"Wish we had some sort of mount that we could ride there," Ginger grumbled, mostly to herself, after several hours in the cold. Devon had been right when he said she could keep herself warm, but her toes still refused to get warm in the way that toes often do. Her feet had begun to ache quietly, too. She could handle both of these problems; Ginger mostly wanted to hear something other than her own breath and the footsteps of her friends.
After a few more seconds, she asked louder, "What do you guys ride around on at home?" She wasn't totally oblivious, of course, but wanted to strike up a bit of conversation.

Leo perked up at Ginger's question and peeked around Elias to look at her, "Oh we ride all sorts of animals. Anything you can tame really. My kingdom is basically in a forest so most of village just walks around. I personally ride a bear. It took forever to train him but I…"
He realized he was ranting and blushed, "Sorry, animals and gardening are really the only thing that comes naturally to me. I can do it without thinking. Everything else like healing and shaping the earth to my will is harder."

"Thats so adorable" Elias smiled at Leo, "can you make like a uh purple flower, like the color of dev's eyes, I wanna put it in his hair. He tolerates me enough to leave it there" He smiled. "The electric kingdom is basically part of the water kingdom, you know, center of our world. Did you know we supply power to all the other kingdoms…least the ones that want it, so I usually walked, or boat".

Devon rolled his eyes, "I lived in a cave, lit by torches. It fucking sucked".

Leo laughed and held up his hand. Quickly looking at Devon's eyes to get the correct color before a small purple flower grew in his hand. With a smile, he gave it to Elias, "I've always thought the electric kingdom was interesting. You guys don't get as much credit as you deserve."
When Devon mentions caves, Leo lights up, "Are you like a cave explorer? I would be if I lived in a cave. Though I would get stuck. Have you ever gotten stuck?"

Ciana shrugged. "I don't get out much-" she said.
"I have no idea how my kingdom gets around."
She was also very cold, but she had gotten enough of her power back that she always not at risk of hypothermia, as she was able to draw on the energy of light to help her immune system.

Ginger's spirits lifted as the group bantered. "The stable back home has a pretty wide variety of mounts available for the royals, and whoever lives in or around the castle. My favorite is the wingless dragon; its wings aren't cut off or anything, but that particular species evolved away from wings. They have little nubs or ridges where wings would be, though. They're super sweet, but my favorite is this retired charger. One of my great-uncles used her in some small war a couple decades back. She's grumpy, but tolerates me well enough I guess."
She laughed quietly at Devon's hatred of caves. Several rooms in the castle were technically caves, seeing was the building was actually built into a mountain rumored to be a long-dried-out volcano. "I can sympathize."

Elias grinned and rushed up to Devon, putting the flower in his hair and kissing his cheek, "see, even brooding emo princes of darkness can be cute, thanks Leo" he skipped back to the earth air.

"Cute? Says the one who is dressed like a colorblind hiker" Devon rolled his eyes motioning at Elias' elaberate and in no way warm outfit.

"To be fair, my body builds up lots of static electricity, which when moving around enough creates heat, so I keep myself from hypo- whatever its called" Elias shrugged, "and I dont look that bad…" He was still sporting his green cargo shorts, but now a purple shirt with the orange vest. "This gray vest goes with everything" He rolled his eyes
