(Yeah, I am. So basically, everyone has their name in this bowl, and then one of the normal people will pick a name from both the girls and boys bowl, and then those two selected will fight in the Games.)
(Yeah, I am. So basically, everyone has their name in this bowl, and then one of the normal people will pick a name from both the girls and boys bowl, and then those two selected will fight in the Games.)
okay so is that happening right now? or are you waiting for everybody else (just wondering)
(Well, I just did the starter, and I’m waiting for someone else…)
oh okay!
Seong-Jin opened his eyes and sat up in his bed or what was left of it anyway.
"oh its choosing day…"
he said with a depressed tone. He got up and started wondering the streets until he found a whole croud of people.
He looked up to one of the houses rooftops.
"maybe I can get a better view from here"
He got up onto the rooftop and looked over everyone.
"looks like this is it. Lets see who gets chosen this time."
He smirked and looked up to the sky.
"this'll be interesting"
(I'm kind of confused sorry, what am I supposed to do?)
(Just pretend you know what your doing. Make your character prepare for the Choosing. Tat sort of stuff.)
(Do they do Hunger Games stuff? Like dressing up and that kind of thing? Do the people who could be chosen have to go to a special spot? I dunno, man. I'm just… hnngh, sorry I'm really dumb.)
(It’s fine, dude. Yeah, there will be that stuff, and the scoring and whatnot, and when we get to that part, you can PM me what you want your score to be.)
Ashlyn woke up as early as she could without getting no sleep at all. She fixed her hair as well as her siblings' before heading outside. She was nervous, but she couldn't let anyone see that. Only the weak were nervous. She walked to her only friend, Ella's house, and together they walked to a clearing in the center of the town to wait. She made mindless small talk, all the while feeling her stomach churning. What if I get chosen? What are my little dorks going to do? She shook her head, trying to push those thoughts from her mind. Her chance was one in, what, a thousand? She'd probably be fine.
Seong-Jin looked over the whole town with his wings resting on the rooftop. He's always hated how long they were. they've always been like 3 times his arm width. his white hair fell in his face. He folded his wings and pushed them um against his back then put his cloak over them. He silently watched as a lady came out… with a big bowl full of paper.
"im to tired to pay attention."
He lied down on the rooftop and closed his eyes.
"I wouldn't be picked anyway…. I might as well stayed home"
His hood fell off of his head revealing his white hair when he laid down. And his wing kind of drooped down over him as a blanket.
And before he knew it he dozed off.
Royce walked down the alleyways. He didn’t really have a destination, he just went all over the place. He was holding up his notebook to his face, covering half of it. The notebook was open though and something was written on it.
Hello! Hope you have a nice day! was written on the page with a small version of Royce himself beside the words, waving. He smiled under the notebook. Though of course, he knew about the choosing, he just didn’t want to think about it.
One of the men charged at Ara, and she ducked away, laughing. As he ran past, going too fast to stop, she dragged her icicle along his side, creating a deep cut. He growled in pain, and she smirked.
The other one, built more like a giraffe than anything else, have a roar of anger that sounded like an angry squeak, and threw his knife at her. She easily sidestepped it, catching it as is whistled past her and throwing it back. It spun through the air and pinned Giraffe to the wall bu the collar of his shirt.
The other guy, built like a Rodeo bull, was running at her and swinging wildly with his knife. She ducked under his arms and drove her icicle into his stomach.
Royce came across an alleyway with more people in it. He looked at them without much thought and thought that they were playing some kind of sport. He walked closer…
No, they were not playing sports, not even close. His eyes widened slightly, still keeping the notebook to his face. A woman who had powers similar to his was harming people.
He took a step back and stepped loudly on an empty can.
Ara’s head snapped up. She spotted a civilian and cursed. She didn’t want to be see, but hopefully he didn’t recognize her.
That brief moment of losing her focus almost killed her. Giraffe had gotten loose, and had thrown his knife as hard as he could at her. It barely nicked her, but she gave a scream of rage all the same. When the knife clanged to the ground, she picked it up and used it to block another knife thrown her way.
She threw the two knives as hard as she could at him, and they sunk into his arms this time. He gave a scream of pain and she snarled.
Stepping hover the two barely conscious bodies, she glared at them one last time and said, “Next time, tell Brookyln to come herself.” She dropped her ice dagger. “And my answer to her is still no.” With that, she sauntered towards the enterance of the alleyway, away from the moaning thugs of the Government Worker, Brooklyn.
Royce stared at the two figures that were on the ground. He wanted to ask the woman he saw about the reasoning behind what she did but she was already out of sight. He decided to follow her though, stepping over the two figures. As he did, things that looked like small snowflakes came from his feet and froze the two figures slightly when he crossed them.
He looked left and right to look for the woman. He was genuinely curious.
Ara first went to the lake on the outskirts of the town. She controlled the water to wash the blood from her clothes, and, leaving a pool of watered down blood, she walked towards the square.
“Ah, Frostbite,” The merchant in charge of the weapons said with a nervous smile. “Come to get a knife? We have one that just came in that was made by the finest silversmith in the Earth District.”
Ara shook her head. “No, I need to see River. I have some… guards that need a healer.”
The merchant gave a nervous bow. “Of course. Don’t let me keep you.”
Ara snorted. The people were so weak and frail, and they were terrified when she started killing.
She walked over to the booth of the healer and leaned on the table, waiting for him to finish talking. Then, she cleared her throat. He glanced up and sighed. “She sent more after you?”
Ara nodded.
He stood. “Where?”
“Alleyway by the Waterwins’ apartment.”
Royce… got lost.
He’s been here for a while but still didn’t manage to figure out the routes. This was a problem, yes, but he just thought of it as an opportunity to explore. He ran around the alleyways, sending everyone he passed by a sweet smile and a small wave. Eventually, he arrived at a lake somewhere faraway from the center of the town he was in. He stared at his reflection for sometime before sitting down by the lake. He started sketching the scenery, smiling as he did.
The healer, River, followed Ara through the maze-like streets of the crowded city to the edge of town, where the two bodies lay. Ara narrowed her eyes when she saw that they were covered in ice. Must have been that guy. She snarled angrily under her breath.
Ice elementals were very rare, even in the Water District. Ara was one of the few, and it gave her more power and authority than almost anyone. She had never met another Ice Elemental, aside from Brooklyn, and this person. Who was he, really?
Royce finished a rough sketch of the view before he started packing up. He closed the notebook and kept the pencil in his pocket. He looked around to see if anyone was looking at him or not. To his surprise, none.
He smiled lightly on his own and knelt down by the lake. He traced the lake’s surface softly with his index finger. As his finger touched the lake, water evaporated and the vapor produced condensed simultaneously. Some parts of the lake even froze to his touch. He smiled and retracted his hand, it was time to head back home. He stood up and headed back home, using a random path.
Ara needed to find this person. She sent out a couple of people to find him, though she was unable to describe him as more than “a boy with whitish hair.” She cursed herself. She was getting behind on her observations.
Strolling through the streets, carrying a dead body behind her, she whistled. People gave her strange looks and walked away quickly. She couldn’t blame them.
Finally, someone called, “Frostbite!”
She turned and spotted a boy running towards her.
“We found him.”
Royce was ultimately surprised when he saw what the people around town were doing. It’s none of my business, he tried to remind himself. They were all looking for something or someone. He paid no attention to what the people said or exclaimed out loud though.
Not long after he started walking, he came to a stop when he spot a great view to make a sketch off. He climbed silently up a nearby building and sat on the rooftop. After he got everything he needed sorted out, he began making a landscape drawing of the Earth District’s quite unique mountains.
Ara followed the boy to where the other person sat. She let a cold, pleased smile cross her face. He was sketching. She rolled her eyes. What kind of idiot does that?
She waited behind him, waiting for him to notice her.
(Last reply from me in a couple of hours)
Royce finally finished the drawing. He brushed off the excess dust on his drawing. He seemed pleased with his effort. He kept the drawing notebook in his personal bag and got out another notebook.
This one was full of words and sentences. Of course, someone came right behind him, who wouldn’t notice from the slight increase of balance issues. He wrote something down on the notebook and presented it above his head, towards whoever was behind him.
How may I help you?
(Aww. Okay!)
Ara rolled her eyes. “Are you, or aren’t you an Ice Elemental?” She picked between her fingernails, trying to get the blood out. She had tossed the corpse she had earlier into a nearby bush, and stared at it every so often.
