Amber went back to treating the wing, a bit more carefully than before. "If need be tell me when to stop." She said. She'd rather be told than get her hand bitten off.
Amber went back to treating the wing, a bit more carefully than before. "If need be tell me when to stop." She said. She'd rather be told than get her hand bitten off.
Lilith winced every now and then, but she thought to herself, better get it over with already. She tried to focus on better times, before humans were bad, but… it only brought up sad memories. They'd taken her away from her family. And she hated them for it.
Amber finished up cleaning the wound before picking up the bandages. "How am I going to wrap this?" She mumbled.
(Where exactly is the wound?)
(It's a bullet wound in the middle of her wing.)
Wrap? Why would her injury need to be wrapped? It was just a wound from a fast moving ball. All she really needed was for the hole in her wing to be repaired, Lilith thought.
Amber stared at it for a bit longer before putting the bandages away, seeing that she probably wouldn't be able to wrap it right. "I think that is all I can do for now." She said stepping back.
Yells of hunters could be heard in the distance.
Lilith startled, hearing the cries of hunters in the far distance. Staring at Amber accusingly for a second, she stumbled to her feet once more, and started lumbering away as far as possible.
Amber looked in the direction of the hunters. "Come here!" She said urgently, waving her towards her house.
Stopping for the briefest second, Lilith looked back, with almost a pleading tone in her eyes. But it wasn't there for long, soon the look disappeared, and she shook her head fervently and continued on her journey. She'd only been there to trap Lilith, hadn't she? Her fear of humans was very deeply embedded inside her, and it'd take a long time before she would start to trust Amber.
"No!" She said before running around to in front of Lilith. "The hunters are near and we need to hide you!" Amber tried to explain, planting herself before Lilith.
She could take care of herself… couldn't she? It would be easier to get a little birdy to talk to the girl. She thought out, I need a little birdy, one that can deliver a message for me to a female human. Not long after that, a raven flew down from the treetops, perching on Lilith's head. What do you want? the young male chirruped, in bird speak, of course. Please tell the female that… she's one of them too. I can't trust her, she's a human. They're all humans, heck. And… thanks in advance, she responded silently and looked down at Amber, causing the male raven to lose his balance for a split second, but then he flew down to Amber's shoulder, and chirped softly into her ear.
Amber watched her stay still before a raven came along. She became a bit more nervous when she heard the hunter voices getting closer. She was snapped out of her trance when the bird landed on her shoulder and began chirping into her ear.
Lilith gave one last look at Amber, and then she found herself taking a step, and another step, and all she could think was, I need to get out of here, find freedom, freedom at last. Her breath came in ragged breaths, and her vision blurred, and she tripped over her own foot, stumbling to the ground. And still, Lilith tried her very hardest to get back onto her feet, but she exhausted what little reserve of energy she had left already. Her mind screamed at her to move, move, move, but her limbs refused to move.
Amber shooed the bird off before rushing over to Lilith's side. She looked her over. "Come on. We need to get you away from the hunters." She whispered as she bent down to her level.
Her need to get away from the hunters overpowered her need to run from Amber. Though shaking her head, she raised a paw slowly, and shaking, she reached it out to drag herself along.
