Kaito looked outside as it began to snow. It had snowed a bit overnight as well, so it covered the ground on the morning of Christmas Eve. He was filled with excitement as he ran outside, not bothering to get dressed or put normal winter clothes on. He simply ran out there in his pajamas, full of excitement as he began to play in it. Even though he was an adult now, he certainly had the energy of a small child, especially when it came to snow. He was just really excited.

(It's canon that he gets excited over snow, so…)

Kokichi looked out the window Nd sighed “great. Snow” he said flatly

Kaito didn't notice that Kokichi was watching as he continued to play in the snow. Sure, he was eighteen, but he was super excited about the snow and enjoyed playing in it. He couldn't help but be incredibly happy as he continued to play in it.

Kokichi sighed and went back to bed, cuddling into the heated blanket

Kaito continued to play in the snow for a little while, although he didn't entirely enjoy the fact that no one was around to join him. Even though he was an adult, he enjoyed everything. All he wanted was to have some fun, but he was all alone.

Kokichi sighed as he thought about the past, tearing up a bit as he thought about shuichi..

As Kokichi began to think about him, Shuichi walked by. While he had broken up with Kokichi about a year ago, while they were still in high school, he remained pretty good friends with Kaito. He had never even told him about the relationship since he thought that the other disliked Kokichi, so he was basically clueless as to what happened between them a year ago. Now Kokichi could see them interact from his window.

Kokichi felt his breath still as he watched, a fury burning in his chest

It seemed that the two talked to each other for a little while, and Kaito convinced Shuichi to play in the snow with him for a little bit, so they had fun for a while. After an hour or so passed, Shuichi left, but Kaito seemed to be in a good mood despite that. However, he did head inside once Shuichi left. He couldn't stand outside in the cold all day, even if he was having fun in the snow.

Kokichi gave his roommate the cold shoulder, ignoring him completely as he walked to the bathroom

Kaito was pretty used to Kokichi ignoring him since they argued fairly often over random things. He never knew why, though. He never knew about the breakup between him and Shuichi because neither of them told him about it, or their relationship as well. Shuichi never knew that they lived together, and Kokichi must have hidden it because he didn't want anyone to know. If he had known, he would have tried to help them both. Since he couldn't do that, he just stayed in the living room, silent.

“Ifucking hate you kaito. I can't believe you could Frolik around with that.. That, I don't even know!? “

Kaito sighed softly, although he was a bit concerned as well. While he had noticed that Kokichi got angry almost every time that he was with Shuichi, he usually didn't think too much of it since the two didn't get along, and they never did, as far as he knew. However, with how upset Kokichi was, it was clear that something had happened between them.

"You mean Shuichi?" he asked, sighing softly. "He's kind of my best friend… I don't know what happened between you two, but I'd like an explanation. You're usually out there with me when it snows… This is unusual…"

Kokichi sighed softly “if he was your best friend, then you'd know that he cheated on me! With rantaro!”

Kaito seemed to be incredibly surprised when he heard what Kokichi said. That was the first time that he had heard about their relationship failing as well as the first time that he had even heard about the relationship. It came as a surprise to him, that was for sure.

"I…never knew that you two were dating…" he sighed. "I didn't even know that he was dating Rantaro now, let alone that he cheated on you with him… I always thought that he was single…"

Kokichi teared up “I was just the side hustle, considering he hasn't even told rantaro.”

Kaito immediately hugged Kokichi as tightly as he could. He couldn't believe that Shuichi would cheat on someone, nor could he believe that his own best friend would hide everything from him, either. However, he was more focused on Kokichi.

"That's ridiculous!" he sighed. "What is wrong with him…? I thought he was better than that… I didn't think that he'd be a cheater!"

“Neither did I..” kokichi said as he started to cry

Kaito sighed softly as he continued to hold Kokichi close to him. It really didn't make sense how Shuichi would cheat on Kokichi and hide the relationship the entire time that it was occurring. He felt betrayed by his own best friend, and he hated it. He never thought that he could be such a bad person.

"I can't believe him…" he sighed. "You didn't deserve this…"

“Yeah I did, I was the stupid one to fall for him, “ he said and pulled from kaitos arms

Kaito shook his head, although he didn't force Kokichi back into the hug. He knew that the other didn't always like being hugged by people, and he didn't want to make him uncomfortable or anything like that. All he wanted was to comfort him.

"No, you deserved nothing!" he argued. "If I would've known, I would have told you. You deserved nothing. Shuichi was just a jerk."
