Also! The rules are pretty simple,
1.) Keep it PG, though gore descriptions are fine
2.) Do not harshly criticize the characters of others
3.) Each time you post a reply, try to make it at least two to three sentences. Longer replies are preferred, but sometimes you can only say so much, and that's perfectly fine!
If you excessively break these rules, especially rules one and two you will be excluded from the RP.
can i join? :o
Absolutely, just fill out a template and we can get started!
okay! hope this is alright
Name: Mitsu Akihara.
Age: 19.
Gender/Sex: Cis girl.
Race (human or ghoul): Ghoul.
General Appearance: Five feet and eight inches of mismanaged anger. Sports a slender yet athletic figure and slim shoulders to accomodate for her kagune, a pale complexion, medium-length wavy black hair reaching just below her shoulders, as well as mauve-colored eyes which are in a constant state of being narrowed. She doesn't have a particular preference for what she wears out, but most will find her wearing loose-fitting and baggy clothing, such as hoodies and sweatpants.
Attitude Towards Strangers: She has somewhat of a glass half-empty attitude when it comes down to strangers, even of her own fellow Ghouls, assuming the worst of them preemptively to prevent the possibility of being backstabbed or led astray by false promises.
Attitude Towards Friend and Family: She is protective to a fault for those she cares about and is generally laidback around them, though despite her amicable attitude towards her loved ones, she tends to keep them at emotional arm's length at all times.
Kagune info: Koukaku-type kagune, manifests below her right shoulder blade to form a scythe-like blade which can be used to slice and ensnare her enemies.
Mask info: Mitsu's mask is pure white in color, made of plastic and covers her whole visage. Its design depicts seven eyes arranged in two vertical rows, three on the right and four on the left, and it contains holes for each of the eyes, though she can only see through the ones closest to her own. Additionally, etched onto the mask is a downwards-pointed triangle which intersects all of the eyes, excluding the lowest eye on the left.
Investigator Status: Non-affiliated (?)
Nicknames: Iris.
That's great (love the descriptiveness by the way)!
I will be filling my own character sheet out, which should only take a few minutes, but if you want you can post a starter.
my bad, didn't see your second reply! lol but anyways, sure, i can try my hand at a starter. this is set after the events of tokyo ghoul, right? or an entirely alternate universe?
Name: Victor Sokolov
Age: 22 years old (though commonly mistaken to be younger)
Gender/Sex: Male
Race (human or ghoul): Ghoul
General Appearance: Victor stands at 5'7" ft tall, and has a rather lanky build for his height, seeing as he weighs in at around 130 Lbs. His hair is generally kept parted to the side and is such a dark shade of blonde that it is almost always mistaken for brown. Victor's eyes appear to be a muddy combination of blue and green, though upon further inspection one may realize that they are just a very clouded green. His skin takes on a very pale tone although in the summer Victor tends to tan.
Attitude Towards Strangers: Being born in an area of Russia with an excess of ghouls (and after the peace efforts had failed), Victor has a very mixed opinion of those around him who he is unfamiliar with. In public, he generally keeps up a kind attitude but prefers for people he doesn't wish to speak to keep to themselves. When it comes to ghouls Victor is usually very weary, as those of his own species that he has met previously were vulgar and often ill-mannered. He has a unique view on humans and personally believes that species barriers should not exist. He was not aware that ghouls and humans were different until he was eight years old.
Attitude Towards Friend and Family: Victor is very calm around his friends and family, and often takes a protective stance when it comes to negative situations. However, when he has met someone new, he makes sure to keep himself a bit detached due to the fact that one slip up could cost him everything because he is a ghoul.
Kagune info: Victor has a Bikaku Kagune type, which sprouts from his lower back/tailbone area. The appendage takes the form of a long tail with split ends that can work as fingers in which to grab things with. The ends of his kagune are sometimes pointed, though it really just depends on the situation. Having a Bikaku Kagune, Victor has no notable weaknesses or strengths, but when he is asked to fair without it in battle chances are he will lose.
Mask info: Victor's mask is made out of a combination of leather, metal, and plastic. The material has a blue tinted white color and covers his face up until just below his eyes. The design on his mask features the eyespots of a moth on the cheeks of the mask and two vertical slits where the mouth is located.
Investigator Status: Not Applicable
Nicknames: Since his mask is sometimes mistaken for the petals of a flower (sometimes even leaves) Victor has earned the nickname "Petal Ghoul" among the few investigators he has encountered.
This is just after the events of TG, it is in the same universe.
alright, gotcha. also, your chara's description sounds wicked
Thanks!
Hunger was a fastidious thing to manage when your stomach was as picky as a young child towards their remaining plate of vegetables. When the time eventually came, and it always did, where the urge to feed could no longer be ignored and the increased ache in her chest proved too much to bear, she often found herself tuning in to the local police scanner. She could never bring herself to feast upon the recently-departed corpses of tortured souls, nor could she consume innocent bystanders under any good conscious without their final moments haunting her thoughts, so this was a healthier alternative, both in body and sound; ridding the flesh of criminals. And ever since the failure of the peace efforts, the city's worst were now in the limelight.
The feeding grounds couldn't be any better.
Reaching over her desk for her signature mask and stuffing it into her bag for safety's sake, she quickly shuffled out of her seat, flipping the switch to the scanner in the process of doing so, before heading for the exit to her apartment, making sure to lock it behind her as she ventured down the stairs into the great vastness of the city, though lingering close to the outskirts as to avoid drawing unwanted attention.
Bounding down a set of stairs, Victor flashed past the glass wall of a shop before turning back onto a much less crowded street. Here there was only the occasional street light, and a few pieces of trash strewn on the ground. From the joined pockets of his hoodie, Victor removed a short, wide mask and took a few precarious glances around. His parents surely would have scolded him about his lack of awareness, saying that anyone could have seen him slip on the mask. He sat down on the damp ground and stretched out his legs, leaning his back against a dark green dumpster. Any passerby would assume that he was a passed out drunk, in the event that they did not see the mask on his face.
Letting out a puff of air, and listening to the air force its way through the slits in his mask, Victor kept his eyes open, hoping that someone would walk by soon. Soon, he could hear the drunken laughter of two people from the far end of the street. Realizing that the two were heading in his direction, a mixture of anxiety and relief flooded over him.
Maneuvering through the streets, mostly, if not completely devoid of all life, save for the lone drunken stumbler here and there, Mitsu cast a cautious glance from side-to-side, just to be on the safe side, before slipping a hand inside her bag and retrieving her mask from its depths, bringing it up to fasten it around her visage. Doing this at the same time of rounding another street corner, however, proved to be a grave mistake, as she found her foot getting caught under another's, resulting in a rougher landing than she would have liked as she tripped and fell on her side. Through the holes punched into her mask, facing towards the corner of a dumpster and someone seemingly unconscious, she would have first assumed that a drunk squatter was responsible, if not for the mask over his own face, an observation of which made her blood run cold.
Jerking his legs closer to the dumpster, Victor stared at the stranger on the ground before narrowing his eyes. This wasn't so much out of anger towards the person who'd tripped as it was anger in knowing that the people who had been walking his way were sure to have stopped. A sinking feeling crept into his stomach as he noticed that the woman had a mask on as well. 'Another Ghoul,' Victor thought, keeping his eyes narrowed. "Great…" He muttered, stealing a quick glance to his left, where he had previously heard the others coming from. They weren't gone, he noticed, but one of them had stopped walking forward. The other, however, was creeping over to the dumpster.
Victor absolutely despised things such as this, especially when he hadn't eaten in around one and a half months. Other Ghouls, or at least in his experience proved to be nothing more than a nuisance if they were not friends or family. A feeling of stinging crowded his lower back, and a few seconds later Victor realized that it was his Kagune. 'Better to be safe than sorry,' he thought, never taking his eyes off of the stranger. Initially, the sudden flash of movement had scared him, but now nothing other than irritation and slight anxiety was prominent.
Fortunately, the fall hadn't impacted her mask's current condition any, not even the slightest crack evident that risked compromising her anonymity. Though it had shifted slightly from the crash, which she quickly addressed by repositioning it more comfortably across her face. By now, she was wholly aware of the threat at hand, meeting the other man's glare as she stared down at the other ghoul and his exposed crimson Kagune. The man had yet to make the first move to attack, but his posture alone indicated he was expecting of one. The familiar burn of a phantom limb ripped through her shoulder blades, setting fire to the skin surrounding her right shoulder as her own bubbled to life, formed purely out of protective instinct. What another Ghoul could be doing rested flat against a dumpster for seemingly no reason at all was the first question that came to mind, but she had a feeling that the answer wouldn't be a pleasant one, either way. "I'm no expert, but I think a normal person would just ask for an apology." She snidely jabbed at the other, her voice muffled behind the threshold of her mask.
Victor's eyes floated back over to the people who had been on their way, the one who had been walking over had stopped and an expression of fear covered his face. Victor looked back over to the stranger in front of him, and slapped a hand down on the ground, scattering bits of loose gravel. "Well, it doesn't take an expert to look where they're going either." He snapped, standing up. The people on the other end of the street had yet to run off, but mentally measuring the distance Victor wondered if he could make it over to one of them in time. Deciding that it was worth the risk, Victor broke into a sprint towards the man who was closest. Pushing himself off the ground with the help of his kagune, he landed messily next to the man and used the split ends of the Bikaku to grab one of the stranger's legs.
The man let out a wail, and Victor quickly pulled him into the air, a few feet above his own head. Everything suddenly became louder as Victor stared up at the stranger, and he guessed that he just hadn't been listening that well before. The woman's snide reply earlier had only irritated him further, making the pains that had been shooting through his stomach and chest only seem worse.
Oblivious to the two spectators nearby, the man's brief snap looked more like a child's temper tantrum from where she was standing. "I know exactly where I'm going. I just didn't expect there to be-" She began in her defense, readying herself to launch backwards if he decided to charge once he got ahold of his footing when, suddenly, he turned the complete opposite direction, throwing her expectations for a loop until she realized what he was in pursuit of. The local drunks had a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time with this being the worst example of their poor timing. While it wasn't at all her place to intervene when it came between a Ghoul and their next meal, considering the emptiness in her own stomach, right now, the aching in her chest was not one of hunger, but the slightest pang of remorse for what was about to befall this poor man. It was a necessary evil of this world that she often turned a blind eye to for her own self-preservation, but here, there was no ignoring it. The man couldn't have known that a lurking predator was just around the next corner.. and maybe, that was exactly the reason why he was camped at that dumpster in the first place. Instinctively, with apprehension blossoming into determination, her legs moved of their own volition as she broke into a sprint and threw herself towards the other Ghoul.
Victor stared up at the man, before lifting him a bit higher to slam him on the ground. Before he got the chance, though, his legs were swept out from underneath of him and he let out an angry hiss through his teeth. "What's the matter with you?" He demanded as soon as he realized who had toppled him over. The man hung in the air still, and Victor tightened his grip on the stranger's leg and noticed that he was no longer moving; he had passed out. Directing his attention to the woman who had flung herself at him, Victor looked at her through narrowed black and red eyes. "You're the one who tripped, just get over it already!" He added, unaware as to the real reason she had come at him.
Landing on the ground a second time into her venture, the full brunt of the impact was at least lessened with the added presence of the other Ghoul toppling over alongside her. Her attack, if one could even call it that, hadn't done much in the way of loosening his Bikaku's grip on the stranger, but it did succeed in garnering his utmost attention towards her, which was precisely the outcome she was aiming for. "Don't stroke your ego, this isn't about that!" She argued back, moving to brush her clothes free of any dirt or gravel as she slowly stood back upright. "Look, you're hungry, right? Unless you're one of those creeps that just kill for the satisfaction of it, then you deserved that one." She spoke in addition, her tone matching the current look of disdain on her face, even if it wasn't visible. "If not, though, I may have an offer for you."
Anger laced Victor's tone once he began speaking again. "I'm not a creep, and I don't just do this when I feel like it." He looked over to the man, who was still asleep and upside down. "And if your," he paused and then made air quotes, "offer, isn't worth me getting caught then I don't want to hear it. If I stand here for much longer, others are going to show up." He looked back towards the woman. "And we both suffer because of that. You don't particularly look normal." Victor added, not loosening his grip on the stranger for a second. Letting the other think that he was calming down was one of the last things that he wanted to do right now. In a situation such as this, calmness could be mistaken for weakness, and Victor still had no idea what the woman was after.
As the other defended himself, noticing the anger in his current posture leak into his next words, it became clear to her that, by the way he spoke of it, perhaps she wasn't alone in her disgust towards the more sadistic of their kind. "Well, at least we have some common ground. Though I'll pretend that last comment was a compliment." She shook her head with parent-like disapproval, daring a step forward as she briefly reviewed her goal prior to their chance encounter. Although a bit dangerous, if he truly wanted to kill her, the odds were that he wouldn't have waited for her to have tackled him to finally try and land a hit. "I was already on my way to dispense with.. uh, a pest, you could call him? Someone who's certainly more deserving of a gruesome bloody death than this one." She loosely gestured for the unconscious man dangling in the air by his legs for indication. "I'm thinking you let this one go, he wakes up with a killer hangover with no recollection of the night before, and we both get to eat while making the streets a tad bit safer at night." She described the possible outcome with a blatant confidence, as though it had already been decided. "It's a win-win for everyone."
Victor stood still for a moment, his eyes flicking over to the man, then to the woman. His Kagune swung over to his right, and he sat the man down on his side. "He's going to have welts," Victor said, staring at him for a moment before looking back over to the woman once again. "Well," he let out a puff of air, trying to steady himself. "Where are we going?" He asked, allowing his Kagune to turn to red vapor as it retracted. Putting a hand to his back, Victor was slightly relieved to find that his hoodie had not been ripped. However, as he looked at his hand, there was a small spot of blood from where he had been against the dumpster. 'That isn't very surprising,' he thought. In fact, Victor had been getting cuts and scratches that although sealed up quickly, were still worrisome, as they reflected his situation.
