Cammy tossed her bright pink hair over her shoulder, practically bouncing out of the pilot seat as she spun around to face the other three passengers. Her eyes caught on Kenji, and she raised an eyebrow. "Oh, don't tell me you're gonna pull a Hunk and hurl?" She chirped, very obviously not bothered by her own incredibly reckless flying. The tiny scattered braids in her hair, paired with her new markings, combined for a sort of strange look that her eyes didn't really help.
"Cam, can we not-" Hunk paused, going green again and pressing a hand to his mouth. "-not antagonize people who are about to throw up." Pidge finished for him, pushing his glasses up on his nose as he glanced around the flight room of the lion.
(hey look, I finally got to it)
Kenji glared over at the others, gaze catching on Shiro for a moment—who knew very well what was wrong with the kid—before burying his face into his arms even more. "I'm a pilot; I'm not going to hurl." However, he was terribly afraid of heights. Cammy's driving like a lunatic wasn't exactly helping matters, either. Shiro stumbled his way over to the boy and offered some silent support, knowing that Kenji wouldn't appreciate being coddled despite his predicament.
((hallelujah lmao. totally messing with you, take your time))
"Good. 'Cause I highly doubt she'd mind you hurlin' inside her cockpit." Cammy said, offering no explanation for what she meant by 'she', though it was obvious she was talking about the lion.
"Cammy, would you please cool it for a second." Pidge said, tone unimpressed as he elbowed her. She let out an offended yelp, looking down at him in confusion, before sighing and crossing her arms. Whatever silent conversation had passed between them left her slightly sulky.
"Fine. Sorry. But anyway, let's go fuckin' explore! We're in space! We're on an alien planet! I wanna know if the atmosphere here is gonna kill me or not."
"I hope it does," Kenji grumbled, which earned him a slight tap upside the head from Shiro. He glared up at the man, then buried his face and practiced some breathing techniques to help with his trembling. Shiro stood and made his way over to Cammy and the others, his robot hand braced against the back of the pilot's chair.
He studied the view around them, then looked down at Cammy. "I say we find a place to lay low. We don't know what's out there, and the aliens I encountered weren't exactly the nicest hosts."
Cammy huffed a dramatic sigh, but shrugged. "If you say so. I was hopin' to explore a bit. Hey, what if there are nice aliens? What if it was just your aliens that sucked? Dios mio, what if there are aliens on this planet and they're friendly!" She rambled, words spilling from her mouth at a pace just slightly too quick for anyone to really catch more than bits. Hunk was the only one who ever really understood half of what she was saying. Her accent was nowhere to be found, years of careful training ridding her of it completely, unless she was emotional. She missed it, sometimes, but it had gotten the teasing to die down.
Kenji muttered some in Japanese, which had Shiro whipping his head around to look at the boy in surprise. "Language, Ken! And don't you even dare say it in English," he added when the boy was indeed about to be a smartass and repeat what he said in a different language. Shiro sighed and looked back around at the group assembled around him. "Let's just worry about landing this thing somewhere we can use as shelter. And hurry. I don't think Ken can take much more. He's shaking so much I can partially hear his bones rattling." Kenji glared at Shiro and tried his best to limit his trembling.
"Fine." Cammy huffed, rolling her eyes as she went from hovering to flying, this time definitely flying at a slower and calmer pace than she normally did. The lack of corkscrews was bugging her, but she kept to neutral flight patterns. Her idol had just requested that, so…
"Is everyone else seeing the huge-ass castle over there?"
Kenji blinked and looked up in curiosity, head cocked to the side. His fear was briefly forgotten as he stared at the giant castle they were headed straight for. "What the hell…?" he murmured, slowly pulling himself up to a standing position and leaning against Cammy's seat. Shiro moved over a bit to give him room, but was ready to grab the kid should he freak out again. "We should check it out," Kenji blurted out, startling even himself. But his face was cool and devoid of emotion, grumpy as ever once again, even if his arms trembled some.
"You just read my mind, E-boy." Cammy said, flashing him the most genuine grin she'd ever shown him. Other than the couple times they'd run into each other at night. Sneaking around the Garrison at one in the morning brought out a more real side of people, even if they'd only ever just passed each other in the halls. "I'm gonna speed up. Think y'all can handle it?" She didn't wait for an answer before increasing speed, checking herself and easing into it instead of suddenly hitting the throttle. She did have people standing on board, after all. Didn't want anybody ending up with a concussion.
((16 days later… i'm really bad at responding to this one))
Kenji glowered at Cammy when she called him an E-boy but said nothing of it as she warned them about her speeding up. His grip on the seat tightened some, but he didn't fall into a panic, so that was good. He was glad she had at least some sense in her and eased into it instead of sending them all flying. "Look at that, she does have common sense," he drawled, rolling his eyes. That was probably the first time he's ever seen her ease up without any prompting. He ducked his head some when Shiro glared at him, but Kenji just secretly smiled at the man. Shiro sighed and focused on where they were going.
