Shuichi nodded in response to the statement before clinging onto the other as tightly as he could when he pulled him close. He was a complete mess by then as nothing but panic and worry filled his mind, the thought of losing Korekiyo becoming more and more of a reality in his mind as he held onto Kokichi and cried.
“I know shu.. I know. You, not the only one who feels this way though.. “
Shuichi understood that Kokichi was worried as well, but he found it pretty difficult to calm down at the time. His anxiety was definitely getting to him, convincing him that Korekiyo was going to die soon, which caused him to cry more than he already was. He couldn't help it; he was scared, worried, and generally close to completely breaking down.
“If it makes you feel any better, I'm just as upset. I've always had a crush on korekiyo..”
Shuichi wasn't entirely sure what he was supposed to do with that information. At the time, it really didn't do all that much to help him, but he was on the verge of completely breaking down, so there wasn't much that could really calm him down. His anxiety was yet again getting the better of him.
Kokichi sighed softly
Shuichi continued to hold onto Kokichi for a while. As time passed, for a while, he just continued to break down until he inevitably exhausted himself from it all. After a while, he calmed, although that was only because he was so worn out that he was close to falling asleep.
“Shu.. I'm sorry..” kokichi whispered, continuing to hold shuichi
Shuichi shook his head. There was no reason for him to be sorry about everything. It was completely out of their control. No one could have known that someone, likely the murderer of their current case, was going to come and shoot Korekiyo. He just wanted some confirmation that the other would be okay.
Kokichi watched as the doctor came out
"Alright, it seems that you two are both here for Korekiyo," he stated as he looked at the two. "Well, he got through his surgery and is currently alive. However, he lost a lot of blood, and we're not too sure how well he'll end up recovering. However, at the moment, there's a good chance that he'll make a full recovery with time."
“That sounds promising “ kokichi said softly
The doctor nodded in response. "Yep. He likely won't be awake until a few hours from now at the soonest, so it'll still be a little while, but as things stand, he should end up making a full recovery. It'll take a while, yes, but he should come back from this."
“Can we see him? Even if he isn't awakee?”
"If you want to, but it's almost four in the morning, so technically you're not really supposed to. However, I can't stop you if you want to go see him," he responded. "As long as both of you are quiet, things will be fine."
Kokichi nodded and guided shuichi to see korekiyo
Shuichi followed Kokichi to Korekiyo's room, not saying anything since he was pretty tired by then. While the confirmation that his lover would likely make a full recovery did prevent him from worrying more, all of the worry from before had completely exhausted him.
Korekiyo was still on life support, he seemed pretty weak by this point
Shuichi sighed softly as he sat near his lover's side. The sight of someone he cared so much about barely clinging onto life was incredibly saddening. Even with how exhausted he was by then, it was clear that he was pretty upset, still worried about things.
“He's strong, hell make it..”
(Might have been working on an animatic! I kept getting distracted, though. Lol)
Shuichi nodded in response, but he was still worried about it all. He was aware of the fact that Korekiyo would likely be fine, but he couldn't help but worry about him anyway. It was only natural for him to do so, even when he was completely exhausted.
Kokichi sighed, hugging Shuichi again. He did something brave and kissed the side of Shuichi's head
Shuichi was a bit surprised by the kiss. It was certainly a strange way to be comforted, considering the current situation, but he didn't exactly mind it all that much. He wasn't entirely sure how he was supposed to respond to the event, though, so he sat there in silence for a moment. Besides, he was rather tired from before, so he wasn't in the mood to say all that much to begin with.
" you should rest Shu.."
Shuichi shook his head. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to relax in the current situation. Exhausted or not, he wasn't sure if he would really be able to sleep with how much there was going on in his mind., He was still worried about Korekiyo, and he was trying to figure out why Kokichi kissed him. It did calm him down a bit, but it was a bit confusing.
