(K that's fine)
August was expecting his first venture into the wild area to be a peaceful retreat from the bustle of Motostoke. He’d go out into the gently swaying grass and maybe even catch himself a new team member to train with, if he was lucky.
He was not expecting to be chased around by a pokemon that looked strong enough to take on the entirety of Galar and win.
“Togetic!” he exclaimed, holding fast to the Zigzagoon in his arms and glancing at the fairy/flying type pokemon fluttering by his side. “Use charm and follow up with fairy wind!”
The pokemon obliged, hovering just out of range of the angry Bisharp. Said Bisharp faltered as the moves took effect, giving August just enough time to call back Togetic with a grateful “Thanks!” and sprint off in a different direction.
Taking advantage of the enemy pokemon’s distraction, he hightailed it around a rock, hoping it would go away if he was no longer in sight. The only thing he didn’t take into account was crashing into a…person?
Oh thank Arceus it’s not another angry pokemon.
Nick saw August throw the stone at someone. He'd smile and laugh. Suddenly a wild pokemon jumped out of the bushes and he was forced to fight. He sent out his Alolin Richu. "Richu! Use Spark!" Richu used spark and knocked out the pokemon. "Aw i needed a Rattatada!" He'd Get Richu back into his Pokeball and walk on. He was trying to get A rattatata for his little sister but he always knocked it out. He sighed, not giving up.
Marina looked around the spot she was standing in. It was peaceful enough, and she could use a break. "Alright, guys, let's stop here for now," she said, looking at her Pokemon. Litwick and Klink were walking and floating next to her, and Rufflet was perched on her shoulder. "We'll rest up for a bit, then check out that lake. Sound good to you?" Her Pokemon chirruped in response. Rufflet flew down off of Marina's shoulder, and the Trainer took off her backpack and started rummaging through it, looking for something.
That is, until someone came crashing into her, bowling her over and sending her backpack and its contents flying.
(Can I join? I know some things about Pokémon, but definitely not all.)
Nick also sat down next to her but looked down. He let out his Richu and smile. "Ya did good today Richu. Too bad I can't let executor out..But Zubat!" He'd let out Zubat. Zubat would zoom away. "Oh come on!" He'd get up and he'd try to get his Zubat. Zubat would lower down and land on his arm. "Zubat..No.." His Zubat always scared him like that. Zubat let out a small screech, like a laugh. "Laugh all you want Zu…" He'd go to sit down on the bench again.
(@ShyDark_Angel if you think you'd be able to participate in an rp that follows the gym route of pokemon sword/shield, i don't mind!) (also, i don't mean to be rude, mosis, but i have to admit, i'm having trouble following. august never threw a stone at anyone, and i find it odd that nick would just sit next to someone that had been knocked over by a stranger. and…where'd the bench come from? perhaps i'm misunderstanding?)

"I'm so sorry!" August exclaimed to the girl, picking himself up off the ground and habitually glancing over Zigzagoon to make sure he wasn't hurt when he fell. He turned his head, sighing in relief when he spotted Togetic out of the corner of his eye sitting on the backpack he was wearing.
The fairy/flying pokemon trilled worriedly, and August's face fell. Trying not to panic, he turned his gaze to the sky, only to let out an even louder sigh of relief at the sight of his Rookidee making his way towards him. The flying pokemon landed on his knitted cap, chirping in what he gathered was annoyance.
August winced and apologized to her for not keeping better track of her, but Rookidee seemed to have already forgiven him in favor of taking off again and circling the other trainer curiously.
"Right, um…can I help you pick those up?" he asked awkwardly, gesturing with a nod towards the spilled contents of her bag.
(Im sorry i cant think straight. )
(no you're fine, i was just curious. i'm not trying to get on you or anything. heaven knows i'm the least observant person in the world lol)
(I know I'm just not in the RP zone today…)
(Y'know what…nvm. I haven't even finished watching Indigo League… So I probably wouldn't know what I'm doing. Imma just watch for now. 😅)
(you don't need to force yourself to respond, mosis! it's fine if you want to respond now, but don't feel obligated to, either! and shy, if it's any consolation, i'd be more than willing to rp with you sometime in the future.)
(Aw, thx!)
(Wow and I've already started calling Marie by the wrong name lmao, I'll go back and fix my previous post in a minute)
Marie brushed herself off. "Ouch…" Litwick and Klink rushed over to make sure that their Trainer wasn't hurt, but Rufflet went on the offensive immediately, getting ready to attack the stranger. "Wha–Rufflet! No, don't do that!" she shouted. Rufflet stopped, hesitated, then went back to Marie. "Sorry about him, he's kind of aggressive," Marina apologized. "And I'd appreciate the help. Oh! Are you okay?" she asked. Probably should have asked that first, she thought.
(lmao, i've done that so many times—don't worry about it. although, you did happen to call her 'marina' again the third time :D ).
Zigzagoon bared his teeth in response to Rufflet's threat, but stopped when August bopped him on the nose. " 'S okay, Zig," he murmured to the pokemon, devoting his attention to Rookidee, who'd startled back with ruffled feathers. Seeing she was fine, he looked back to Marie.
"I'm fine," he assured her. "Sorry about that… A really strong Bisharp was after me, and my team didn't stand a chance. I wasn't looking where I was going in my hurry to get away. Actually…" he trailed off, stiffening when he realized he'd never checked to see if the Bisharp had left.
"Hey Rook, do you mind checking if that Bisharp is still there?" he asked his Rookidee sheepishly.
Rookidee chirped in affirmative and disappeared for a few moments, only to return with a shake of her head and a relaxed demeanor.
"Well, I guess he's gone," he thought aloud. He crouched near the mess he'd made and began handing the stuff back to Marie.
Nick looked at them both. He decided to help with the stuff. He put Zubat and Richu on the bench and bent down to grab stuff. "Here. I believe this is yours?" He'd smile Handing it to the girl. He'd realize that Zubat was missing…again. He'd Pick up a few more papers and Smiled again. "Sorry. I have to go find my Zubat. It was a pleasure to help you!" Nick Turned around and said "Richu. Let's go find Zu.." He realized that there was a paper in the air and got it. He'd turn around and hand it to the person on the bench and smile.
August glanced at the other trainer, wondering briefly if he and the girl were acquainted already. Noting his unfamiliarity, however, he dismissed the thought. Another wanderer? he asked himself, curious.
He blinked at his sudden departure and then return as he snagged a flying paper out of the air. The trainer handed the paper to him, and he turned to give it to the girl until he spotted the familiar writing. "Wait, this is…" he trailed off, then suddenly spun to face Togetic.
"Togi, no!" he scolded, slipping his backpack off his shoulders and shutting the pocket that she'd opened when his attention was turned. "If you wanted a berry, you could've just asked," he mumbled in dismay, watching as a good chunk of his items were scattered by the wind. He made a desperate grab and managed to grab a few, quickly stuffing them in his backpack pocket to sort through later.
Zigzagoon wrestled his way out of August's arms and took off after the bundle of receipts and curry recipes that he hadn't managed to grab while his trainer gave an oran berry to the hungry Togetic. He also tossed one to Rookidee and saved another for Zigzagoon, holding a handful in offering to the other two trainers to take for their pokemon.
Turning to Nick before he left again, he asked, "Do you need help finding your Zubat? Rookidee's got experience when it comes to finding lost pokemon," he explained as said pokemon came to rest on his knitted cap again.
Nick looked at August in confusion. He would help a random trainer…? Nick thought. "Oh! Um, really?" He'd scatch the back of his head. "I mean it always happens. My Zubat likes to play like that." But for all I know… He could be miles away. Nick mumbled. "Also, my name's Nick. What's your name?" Nick asked looking at August and Marie. He'd let out an awkward smile.
(Sorry it's short I'm kind of in a rush)
(svkajvbskbv s o r r y)
"Thanks, you guys!" Marie said, putting the last of her items into her bag. She stood back up and slung the bag over her shoulder. "We can help out, too! Right, Rufflet?" The Pokemon squawked and flew onto Marie's shoulder. "Oh! And I'm Marie. Nice to meet you guys!"
(I'll wait for @vibe to answer than ill answer)
(you're totally fine lol—this isn't something to stress over)
August nodded, looking to Marie for confirmation with a small smile. "Of course! It's what I'd hope someone else would do for me," he replied. "Oh, and my name's August! It's nice to meet you two! Even if it is a bit sudden…"
Zigzagoon scampered back over then and deposited the lost papers into his trainer's lap with a proud yap. August rubbed the top of his head fondly and gave him a berry before tucking the papers back into his backpack, being sure to zip it all the way shut so that Togetic couldn't worm her way into his bag again.
He stood and brushed the dirt off his jeans, then looked at Nick. "What kinds of places does Zubat like?" he asked, ushering Togetic, who was edging closer and closer to Rufflet, to stay near him.
Nick Put his finger on his mouth. "Huh. He like Caves and water. I found it in a cave and when I went to the Alola Region, over water, he made a tone of friends. So he likes to go to the water." He'd sigh, scratching the back of his head. He'd walk to the bushes. "C'mon..Rattatada..where are you.." A few seconds later one jumped out of the bushes. Richu is too strong…Will I- Nick thought dropping the Pokeball that Exggcutor was in. He'd pick it up and by accident, let Executor out. "Oh no. Executor! Come back!" Exeggutor refused, wanting to battle. He'd sigh, "Fine. Just this once. Use Dragon Pulse!" He threw a Pokeball and caught it. "Yes finally!" He'd smile, turn around, and say "Let's go!"
(i finished, minus the gallery, august's character page! it's here, in case you want to check it out.)
August pulled up a map of the wild area while Nick wandered into the grass. "Let's see," he mumbled to himself, zooming in on his phone so he could see better. "I think we're in the stony wilderness right now… Yup! The dusty bowl is that way, and Bisharp chased me from over there…so that must be giant's cap! Which means the nearest body of water is in…giant's mirror, with the next closest in dusty bowl, and then bridgefield." He looked up with an eager smile on his face, only for his jaw to drop in complete shock at the towering figure of the alolan exeggutor in front of him.
"Dear Arceus, I've never seen a pokemon that large outside of dynamaxing before," he breathed. "Even then, I've never seen a dynamaxed pokemon in person. Only ever on TV…I mean, I haven't registered for the gym trials yet. What does it eat? Are alolan exeggutors even grass types?" He continued to ramble absentmindedly, unconsciously starting to pull at his lower lip with his thumb.
Rookidee squawked, startling him out of his thoughts. He yanked his hand away from his mouth and sighed disappointedly at himself, before quickly remembering what he was doing before.
"Oh yeah! Um, Rook, would you mind searching for Zubat over in dusty bowl? I'll meet you in giant's mirror." The pokemon chirped in confirmation and took off, leaving him to turn to the other two trainers, his face slightly flushed in embarrassment after being caught rambling.
Togetic floated over to his head, sitting on his cap since Rookidee was no longer there to claim to spot, while Zigagoon circled him until he picked him up.
"Um, Togetic isn't the best long-distance flyer, so unless you want to send Rufflet, Marie or if one of you has another flying-type, we'll have to walk to check the other locations…" he explained, trailing off uncertainty towards the end.
