Lydia spun, swinging before Blair had the chance to steady himself.
Lydia spun, swinging before Blair had the chance to steady himself.
Blair fell backward, doing a roll to steady himself as he jumped up, knocking the feet out from under Lydia.
Trenton looked back at the mirror, displeased with the grouchy expression that always rested on his face. He attempted to mimic the carefree, cocky smirk Blair had given him this morning, but he couldn’t quite pull it off without looking like it caused him physical pain. He tried this a few more times, frowning after even finger guns failed to improve it, before strutting outside the Aphrodite cabin.
Lydia landed on her butt, cursing. She swung a fake swing from where she sat, and while Blair was distracted, swung for real.
It gave him a small nick on his leg. "Well shit, that hurts." He said, an emotionless smile on his face. "Can we use powers?" He asked her, a plan growing in his mind.
“No!” Lydia said, hoping to keep secret the fact that her only power was the power of idiocy.
"A shame." Blair said, kicking himself up and balancing on a rock. "Do you know who my godly parent is?"
No sign of Lydia… Trent’s eyes narrowed with concern as he scanned his surroundings. He immediately thought of the forest, but wasn’t so sure he should go into the woods defenseless. Monsters were known to prowl around there and he didn’t have his rapier to protect him this time. Then again I did run in front of a gun today. Why not test the fates twice? He started heading towards the forest, trying to keep his cool.
“No…..” Lydia said, getting up subtly, hoping to knock Blair over.
"It's Dionysus." He said, clasping a hand around her upper arm and surging part of his power into her. "God of insanity."
Lydia’s eyes widened. She then said, “My mother is Nemesis. Goddess of Retribution and Revenge. We’re good opponents.”
“Lydia?” Trenton was now walking through the woods, a bit anxious at being defenseless and alone. “Lydia? Are you close by?!” He yelled again, feeling a bit anxious. Maybe they left? Or maybe I’m in the wrong part of the forest? Gods, what if something happened to her?
Lydia heard Trent calling for her, and, looking Blair in the eyes, said, “I’m right here, Trent.”
"The little bird flies away from its nest and gets eaten by the monster we call insanity." He muttered, saying the phrase to complete the little action. The action being getting Lydia stuck in a trance of insanity for about half an hour. "Night night little birdie said the monster."
Well shit, I too to long to write it out//
(It still works)
“Lydia!” Trenton followed the sound of her voice, extremely relieved. “I was unsure if you had returned to camp or—“ He froze in place when he saw Blair holding Lydia. The two of them had obviously been fighting. Gods, this is all my fault! “…Blair?” He called out, his confidence dwindling.
Lydia had gone numb, staring into space.
"Yes?" Blair asked, releasing his hold on Lydia's leg. He showed no emotion on the fact that Trenton thought they were battling it out to the death.
Lydia stayed standing, although she felt as though she had gone back in time, back to Brooklyn.
Trenton looked a bit affronted, trying to compose himself. Be charming. You know you have to be charming to get through to people. Being aggressive never works. He repeated this like a mantra in his head, trying not to snap. “Would you mind explaining what is going on?” He asked politely, through gritted teeth.
"We were sparing, I used my 'Special Move' on her," Blair explained, using hand quotes. Even when saying this, the scar on his face made him look sinister and evil.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Trenton forced any bitterness out of his voice. However, the boy’s hands were shaking with a mix of anger and fear. “Lydia? I trust you’re okay?” He asked, worried about how silent she had gotten.
"It means that we were training, I used my power on her and sent her into an insanity trance." Blair said, he wasn't the best at explaining things.
Lydia stood silently. In her mind, she was seeing terrifying images, of her brother dying, of her foster parents, of too many things.
