“Ouch. Can’t you like…carry a pillow or something with you and teleport onto it?” Connor asked curiously
"My mom could," he admitted with a wry grin. "It's hard enough to like…carry my clothes with me. Let alone an object."
Inima frowned, "SO you could teleport and become naked?"
"Get your head out of the gutter, Inima," he said with a laugh. "I mean, I haven't since I first started, but…it's possible."
Inima was confused, gutter? What did that mean? She shrugged it off, "I'm just saying if it's that big of a risk maybe you should practice."
Tasper noticed the confusion in her face. Oh right. Was that just an American expression? He decided to move on. "It's not anymore, not really. The tighter the clothes, the easier it is. I don't really think about it anymore. Every once in a while I'll still leave a shoe behind, but otherwise, I'm good."
“Oh god, imagine if you teleported on a job and showed up with no clothes,” Connor laughed. “You’d be called the naked hero.”
Inima wondered how that would work. Why looser clothes worked worse than the tighter ones? She shook her head wondering why the boy was laughing at the idea of being naked. There were plenty of heroes, and villains, that worked with little to no clothing.
"Yeah, it'd be funny," Tasper agreed with a smile. "I don't think I caught your name," he said to Connor, lifting an eyebrow. "I'm Tasper."
“Connor,” they replied. “What’s your quirk, by the way? I kind of just assumed it was teleporting, which is totally rad, but is there like…other stuff to it?”
Jordan stands, and walks alittle way away from the group
"My mom calls it chasing because of how…fast it is, I guess? And it's such an advantage in a close range scenario –closer to super speed than to teleportation." He looked up, trying to think of how to explain it.
“Well, it’s still pretty cool. But if it’s more like super speed, maybe try staying close to the ground? That way you don’t break anything when you move,” Connor suggested
Tasper nodded. "Yeah. I just don't want to get expelled on the first day, so I jumped a little too high." He shrugged. "I probably won't do it again."
Inima shrugged, "It's not like he can actually expel someone. Can he?"
“Yeah, but you went forty-something feet. That’s like, my distance times three,” Connor laughed. “You could probably be great at rescue missions and stuff just by using that to hop to and from burning buildings and stuff.”
Tasper's face heated up a bit. He couldn't help but smile. "I…yeah, that's my hope. Saving people." And destroying the league of villains, he thought darkly.
"So you want to be a rescue hero," Inima said, "That's cool."
“Well hey, that’s pretty great,” Connor said, flashing him a wide smile. “My quirk is more suited for combat, but I’m aiming for both that and search and rescue stuff.”
"I just don't want the league of villains hurting anyone else," he said. "I'll do anything to keep that from happening. Saving lives is the most important thing."
“Yeah, but we can’t really do anything as students. I can’t exactly go full sized and squish them all without a permit,” Connor joked
Inima bit her lip and moved a hand to her arm. The league. Of course students were going to talk and know about it. It's pretty well known.
Tasper noticed Inima looking uncomfortable. He glanced at her. "You okay?" he asked flatly.
Inima attempted to push down her discomfort, "Yeah. I just dislike the league that's all."
“I dunno. I personally thought they were kinda cool at first because I always like the villains, but after I found out my mom was with the league I noped right on out of that,” Connor said
