"Sounds fun, I'm surprised my dad never mentioned it before." Though the more he thought about it, Alaine got the feeling that his dad had spoken about it before, he just hadn't paid any attention. "Could we go there at some point? I'd like to see what it's about and I don't actually know where it is."
Like a date? Talia immediately thought, but pushed it from her mind. "Yeah, of course. I'd love to. Everyone there is so nice and kind, I really think you'd love it. Especially the owner, Xavier. He's absolutely amazing."
"Cool." He smiled, a little surprised she agreed to his offer. "So when are you free?"
I wonder if she thinks this is a date. It isn't, but I can't read minds. I hope Tikki will be okay with going to a music place, I don't want to hurt her ears.
"Most days. Like, basically every day. I don't do much. Just homework, strumming, hanging with my dad. Not a lot."
Léna grinned at Talia's reply.
Naeva read it over her shoulder and smiled as well. "I'm looking forward to being with her."
"I am too," Léna replied.
"How does tomorrow sound? I can pick you up at around 5, at yours, if you like?" Alaine inwardly cringed. It sounded like he was asking her on a date, and he didn't want her getting the wrong idea.
Talia smiled slightly, if not a little awkwardly. "Uh, not many people know where I actually live. My dad and I don't live in the mansion, my aunts do." She brushed a few blonde strands of hair put of her face.
Adela nodded with a bright smile on her face, "That would be good! Gracias!"

"I know, you head in the opposite direction when you leave school." He paused before quickly adding. "I haven't been stalking you, it's just something I noticed."
Well done, now she thinks you're a creep.
Talia gave another awkward smile. "Yeah… Sometimes I do stay in the mansion, but it's when I'm doing stuff with my aunts. I used to live in it, but when mum died, dad and I moved into a cosy apartment."
"That's nice?" He didn't really know how to respond to hearing her mother had passed away. There were a few things about Talia that Alaine didn't know, and only having one parent was one of them. "Do you prefer the apartment?"
"Well, the thing is that I don't really know. My mum did when I was really young, so dad's kinda just always been the parent. And I guess in away, the fact that we love in a humble apartment is why I want to make a name for myself. You know, unlike how Chloe was when she was our age."
"I assume you mean Chloe Bourgeois?" He let out a chuckle that caught the attention of some of the other students. He quietly apologised and turned back to Talia. "I heard she had a daughter, do you think she's as stuck up as her mom?"
"Yeah I mean Chloe Bourgeois. But Elina is honestly the nicest girl you'll ever meet. I consider her my little sister. We grew up together, you know cause dad and Chloe are so close."
"I see, that's unfortunate. You've had to put up with Chloe your entire life so far, I almost feel bad for you."
The bell rang for the end of class, the start of break, and Alaine shoved his work inside his bag so quickly he probably ripped a couple of papers. He turned to Talia and popped one of his earphones in. "You got anyone to hang with?"
She shook her head as she packed up her stuff. "I never really do. I got so sick of people only wanting to be my friend because of my dad that I up and leave when they sit down. People kinda got the memo, so I guess people who really want to be my friend are persistent enough to deal with me."
