"Yeah. Deal with it. It'll be quick." he grabs the bow instead of the sniper and starts to drag her down the hall back to the control panel.
"Yeah. Deal with it. It'll be quick." he grabs the bow instead of the sniper and starts to drag her down the hall back to the control panel.
She closed her eyes and stumbled along, clutching her stomach. "Your sniper," she sputtered.
"Leave it." He barks, "It doesn't matter." He helps her into the room
Kate winced and didn't argue. "Is it empty?"
"What? No. There is ruble everywhere. The computers I used are shut of.. too."
"Of people, moron," she coughed. "And I kind of need the computers."
He nods, helping her over to the tech, "Yeah. This room is vacant. I think. I'm sure."
Kate seethed and pressed her hand against her wound. Soon it was covered in her blood. "Okay, okay…" she muttered, observing what she had to work with.
Jackson keeps holding her up.
With her not-bloody hand, she began to work. Her eyes darted around and her fingers flew around, flipping switches and typing.
Jackson looks around, "Hurry up."
"I'm trying! This technology isn't what I'm used to," she replied. "And it's hard to do this with one hand."
He nods. His head on a swivel
She began to breathe hard. "Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God…"
"No pressure."
"Shuttup!"
She flicked a switch and light on the panel turned on. She laughed with relief. "I think it's working!"
"Thank god!" Jackson loads an arrow
"I'm going to use an old S.H.I.E.L.D. code to contact them. It's old, and they might not accept it, but it's worth a shot," she explained, typing quickly. A wave of lightheadedness struck her as she lost more and more blood.
Jackson nods, "Just try your best, ok?"
She didn't speak, just nodded. If anything, she would make sure that Jackson was still alive when S.H.I.E.L.D. came. She typed the algorithm and flipped several switches. The color of the panel changed. She sighed – it was sent. No sooner had she sent it than she passed out.
Jackson drops everything and catches her head before she hit the ground, "Kate?!"
No response. Her face was pale.
"Shit." He applies pressure to her stomach wound, "Kate?"
(At S.H.I.E.L.D.)
Maria Hill approached Nick Fury. "Sir?"
"Yes, Hill?" He looked up from his work.
"We just received a distress signal from the Swiss Alps. It's an old code, but it checks out with our systems. Should we send out a party to check?" Her voice was edged with urgency, unable to stop thinking about Kate and Jackson.
Nick narrowed his eye slightly. "If this is their way of trying to pull one over on me, it's a meager attempt. No, don't send a party."
Maria pressed her lips together. "But, sir, what if–"
"Hill, that's an order. It would be a waste of manpower," Nick insisted.
"Yes, sir," Maria replied, turning and leaving his office. Her eyes squinted in worry, and she rushed back to her office to make a phone call.
(In the HYDRA base)
The light on the panel turned from green to blue – telling anyone who knew what it meant that the message had been received.
With the sudden application of pressure, Kate's eyelid fluttered abruptly. "J-Jackson?"
Jackson looks up at the computer then back down ,"I'm here. It's ok. You're going to be ok."
