Some people think he's stuck up because of this, but really he's just incredibly socially awkward and kinda scared of people. He's highly logical and intelligent, and often struggles to understand when people are being irrational and emotional. He doesn't really understand emotions (his own or anyone else's), but can sometimes give good life advice if someone just needs a logical opinion. If you're close to him, he shows himself to be a pretty sweet nerd who is fiercely loyal to his friends and will help in any way you can.

Scipio sat in the library in silence, reading some textbook with his cat at his side and snake wrapped around his shoulders. He seemed very calm at the moment. He enjoyed studying, surprisingly enough, and sometimes just read his textbooks because he thought they were fascinating. Hogwarts: A History was one of his personal favorites, of course. He knew so much more about the school than his fellow students simply because he had read the book several times.
