Nora raised her eyebrows as well. "Not all of them. You've also met Skye."
Nora raised her eyebrows as well. "Not all of them. You've also met Skye."
“Yeah. She wasn't so bad.” he agreed, still smirking playfully. “But I thought she wasn't actually a Siren. That she just looks like one.”
"She was also a Siren," Nora explained. "Zuse had a… fondness for eye candy."
“That I knew.” Cor couldn't help but chuckle as he went back to working on Nora’s helmet. He was fairly certain that Zuse’s reputation was well known all across the Grid.
"Zuse didn't care very much about your personality," Nora mused, "as long as you were good-looking."
“He probably tried to pass it off as a “business” choice.” he shrugged, not approving of Zuse’s actions but knew there was nothing he could do to change that fact.
"I don't think he ever tried to pass it off, really," Nora said honestly. "Gem found the best-looking Sirens… and offered to hire them."
Cor frowned a little at that, giving a small hum of acknowledgment. He tried to keep focused on fixing Nora’s helmet as he switched to the small detail tool but… “Well, she definitely found what she was looking for when she found you. Most beautiful Siren ever written.” he said without thinking.
Nora's light lines flushed the same pink as her hair, and she opened and closed her mouth several times. The comment had completely caught her off guard: she was… beautiful? She'd never heard that… hot, yes, sexy, quite a few times. But beautiful, never.
"Y-you really think so?" she asked, the words tumbling out of her mouth faster than she could hold them in.
Cor’s lines burned a deep rich pink that could almost be mistaken for red once he finally realized what he had said. He closed his eyes and gently set down the tools, burying his face in his hands.
At hearing her surprised question, he took his hands away slowly and looked over at her as he managed to nod slowly. “Of course I do.” he answered softly. There were so many ways that he could tell her how he believed that… He just didn't know where to start.
Nora looked at him, unsure of what to believe. His light lines were pink… if that wasn't an indicator… nothing was.
"I…" She opened her mouth, then closed it, then opened it again. She was entirely unsure of what to say. She had never felt this way before.
"Thank you," she finally said. She wasn't sure if that was right, but it fit, somehow, to her.
“What for?” he asked as his lines calmed down a little. “I… I’m just telling the truth.” he said gently, wondering why she was acting like it was the first time she’d heard someone call her that.
Nora's lines flushed pink again. Telling the truth? Was she beautiful? Cubes, where was Bit to intervene when she needed it?
"I… you are? Really?" she asked, hesitant.
“Yeah.” he nodded. “I mean… How are you not?” he asked as he straightened up and took a couple of steps towards her.
Nora's processes seemed to have slowed down immensely as she stared into those electric eyes.
"I… I don't… am I really beautiful?" she asked.
Cor couldn't help but smirk faintly at the unintentional effect he was apparently having on her. Though he would be lying if he said that Nora didn't have a unique effect on him as well. “Absolutely.” he said softly, gently lifting her chin with his finger. “You are the most beautiful program I have ever seen. I’m honestly still surprised that I get to spend so much time with you.”
Nora's light lines pulsed a deep pink. Beautiful.
She put her hands on his shoulders, tentative, slow. Beautiful. He says I'm beautiful.
Looked into his eyes. Beautiful.
Cor smiled sincerely and gently wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close as he met her gaze. He didn't want to be anywhere else right now. He just wanted to be with her.
Nora stared into his eyes and tilted her head towards his, gently, slowly.
Cor’s lines flashed a soft pink at her advance but smiled tenderly as he leaned in to meet it.
Their lips met. It was a few moments before Nora remembered to breathe, softly, in and out, in and out. Her hands, without her realising it, had made their way into his hair. Stars, it was so soft.
Cor hummed softly, his eyes closing as she ran her fingers through his hair. How he loved that feeling. He gently pulled her closer, running one hand up to cup the back of her head.
Nora swayed towards him, her chest pressing against his. He was warm and solid and comforting. Stars, how she loved that.
Cor smiled against her mouth as he let the kiss last as long as it could. The way they fit together was more intoxicating than End of Line’s strongest energy. She felt soft against him but he knew better than to underestimate what she was capable of.
Nora felt his smile with her lips and couldn't help but smile as well. Part of her felt like she was drunk, but her mind was oddly clear.
