Sora bounded down the corridors. He stopped outside the door to 1-A and stopped. The door was closed. "Bloody paws." He muttered to himself and teleported inside. He appeared at the front of the class and gave a whine when he noticed them all staring at him. He contemplated putting his head low but decided against it and lifted it high and strutted between desks to an empty seat next to a student with a bird head. 'how odd' Sora thought, 'not that I can talk'. He struggled to get on the chair, falling off twice and deciding it was better for him to sit next to the table instead.
Kat smiles politely, staring at the dog before returning her gaze to the couple in front of her.
“My name is Kat, it’s a pleasure!”
She sends a nod to Bakugou
“I heard you did very well on the entrance exam.”
Looking back to Itsumi, she smiles “A tough guy, huh? They’re all softies, the lot of them. Do you know anyone else here?”
"Yeah, actually! The person with half red half white hair, that's Shoto" She waved at Shoto.
Shoto looked at Itsumi, and gave a small wave back.
"The person sitting in front of you, that's broccoli boy, aka Deku. There's more people here that I know, but we can get to meet people later, with this being said, want to be friends?" Itsumi says before looking at the dog, then back at Bakugou.
The girls face burned red.
“F-Friends? Of course!”
Fanning her face to calm her cherry hue, she introduced herself to ‘Deku’ and ‘Shoto’ Deku acted the same way as her (flustered and anxious) while shoto seemed more quiet and serious. Pulling out a small notebook she began to doodle.
“So, Itsumi, why did you want to be a hero?”
Sora rolled his eyes and huffed out a sigh. He trotted over the the girls and Bakugou. "You guys do realise I can see you looking at me from across the room, right? I'm a dog, not blind."
Kat smiled awkwardly.
“i’m sorry, it’s just…” she glanced away and scratched the back of her neck.
”dogs are so cute…” she covered her face after saying it.
Despite her name, Kat much preferred dogs over felines.
Sora widened his eyes for a second. "That's… Nice actually." He said, looking slightly shocked.
Covering her face with her hands and inhaling to a three count, she smiled.
“No problem! I don’t see how anyone could be mean to you.”
From the front of the room, a noticeable shuffling could be heard. Kat turned her attention to the sound and her eyes widened. There, on the floor at the front of the classroom, was a man in a yellow sleeping bag, slurping what looked to be an apple sauce pack. Kat stared, tilting her head.
”What the hell?”
Sora snorted, "You'd be surprised."
When he saw the man at the front, he lowered his head and quickly padded back to his seat.
The homeless man stayed in his sleeping bag for a minute, the entire class silent. He then slowly sat up, removing himself from his yellow cocoon.
“Welcome to the hero course. If you’re looking to socialize, I advise you to leave now. If you aren’t going to take this seriously, I don’t want you in 1-A.”
Nobody moved.
“Alright. Get your gym uniforms on and head to the arena. Hurry up.”
Kat raised her hand, a puzzled look on her face.
“Sensei, what is it we are doing, exactly?”
He shot her a deadpan expression, sighing.
“Quirk apprehension tests.”
From somewhere behind Kat, she heard someone snort.
“Apprehension tests? Easy.”
Aizawa glared at the student.
“Easy? Alright, fine. If it’s so easy, then i’ll expel whoever comes in last place. Now
hurry up, we don’t have all day.”
Kat shivered and looked over at Sora and Itsumi. She could see Deku looking rather shaken up from her peripheral vision. Grabbing her uniform and quickly changing, she met up with her canine classmate.
“Do you think he was being serious?” Her nervousness evident as she toyed with her necklace.
"Eh, probably not. He does have a record but I'm not quiet sure." Sora did the dog version of a shrug.
Still staring at the door in which their home room teacher had exited, Kat nodded.
“Yeah.”
She shook her head and turned to Sora, her bubbly smile back in its normal spot.
“Anyway, we’d better get going, huh?” She jabbed her thumb towards the door. Before they could leave, a girl who looked slightly similar to Kat stopped her.
“Hi, sorry to bother you, but do you know where the arena is?”
Kat laughed and explained it to the girl, who said her name was Uraraka Ochako.
Kat, Izumi, Sora, Bakugou, and Uraraka made their way to the arena.
When they arrived, Sora's eyes fell immediatly on the metal ball. "You expect me to throw that?"
Aizawa’s blank expression never seemed to falter.
“Yes. I expect all of you to throw it. You’re allowed to use your quirks as you please.”
He looked at Bakugou, pointing to Kat after.
“You first. Then you.”
Sora stood with his mouth open. "Sensei, I don't have hands."
Kat thought for a moment before raising her hand.
“Sensei! Could I throw the ball to Sora, and he could hit it with his tail?”
The disheveled man just sighed, agitation showing on his face.
“Sure, just hurry up.”
Bakugou threw the ball, his explosion giving him a score of 705.3. Kat was up.
Winding her arm back, she threw the ball. Using her sludginess, Kat gave the ball an extra boost. Her final score was 623.6.
Aizawa beckoned Sora forward, "Just get it over with."
Sora nodded, he turned to Kat and said, "I have an idea, throw it over me."
Kat gave a determined nod and held the ball in her hand. Reeling back for the second time that day, she tossed the ball to Sora.
Sora took a bit of a start and leaped, catching the ball in his mouth in midair. He fell into and roll and as his body flicked up, he used his head to fling the ball forwards. 284.9. Not bad, for him anyway.
Kat jumped up, shouting praise to her friend. As the rest of the class finished throwing the ball, Aizawa pointed at a little track area.
“Racing…” Kat shivered. Having a quirk that made her a liquid wasn’t very good for running.
"Yes!" Sora muttered. Four legs and a teleportation quirk definitely helped with being fast.
Aizawa paired Kat with a short boy that had purple hair. He gave her strange looks.
While her time wasn’t amazing, she still beat the crude purple haired boy. Up next was Sora and a boy named Kaminari.
As soon as the starting sound went, Sora disappeared. He reappeared over the finish line. 1 second. He padded over to Kat. "Wasn't even my best," He bragged, shaking his legs out and watching Kaminari fall over shortly after finishing.
Kat marveled, little stars in her eyes.
“That was amazing! How does your quirk work? Do you have two? Are you a mutated dog or a mutated person? Can you…” she trailed off, her face bringing with cherry red embarrassment. “Sorry! I’m being intrusive! Forgive me!” she bowed.
Sora looked rather alarmed. "I don't know! Oh god, am I really a dog?!" He actually hadn't thought much about it before.
