Hachi nodded weakly. “Y-Yeah…I just need a minute…”
Hachi nodded weakly. “Y-Yeah…I just need a minute…”
"I just thought I'd make sure. I know you'll be okay, though."
Hachi nodded again.
Sun-mi went back to eating after that.
Hachi continued eating again.
The meal was finished in silence. There wasn't much to be said.
“So…”
"Soo…did you enjoy the food?"
Hachi nodded. “It was nice…thank you…”
Sun-mi smiled a bit. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. Also, no need to thank me. I'll be sure to bring you back here sometime."
Hachi laughed lightly. “I’d like that…”
"I'm really glad you liked it here. It's my favorite restaurant."
“I can see why,” Hachi laughed again.
Sun-mi laughed as well. "I'm glad you agree with me. Anyways, is there anything else you want to do?"
Hachi hummed in thought. “Well…there is one thing, but…”
Sun-mi looked at him, wondering what he was implying. "If I may ask, what are you implying?"
“It’s something kind of…important to me. Only my closest friends have ever done this with me…and I’d like you to be part of that list,” Hachi sighed, looking away.
"Well, I'm open to whatever, you know." She smiled as she looked at him. "I'd love to do whatever you're thinking of, so don't worry about if I'm not going to want to."
Hachi smiled a tiny bit. “Thank you…it’s…well…” he took a deep breath. “Every so often, I go to visit my mom’s grave…tell her everything that happened since the last visit,” he laughed sadly. “I can even imagine her responses…”
"I'm sure she's proud of you, if that's anything to go off of." While the conversation was getting sadder, she continued to smile. "I'm sure she'd be happy to know that you found another friend, and she'd love to meet this friend. I'll definitely let her, too."
Hachi nodded, smiling sadly. “I think she’d like that,” he gave another weak laugh.
Sun-mi nodded. "I'm sure she would. We can go there whenever you're ready."
Hachi nodded. “We can go now…” he smiled shakily.
Sun-mi took his hand. "If that's the case, then let's go."
Hachi nodded, leading the way.
