Well, Pacific Rim was favorite for me, so if you haven't seen it, here's the plot:
Long ago, legions of monstrous creatures called Kaiju arose from the sea, bringing with them all-consuming war. To fight the Kaiju, mankind developed giant robots called Jaegers, designed to be piloted by two humans locked together in a neural bridge. However, even the Jaegers are not enough to defeat the Kaiju, and humanity is on the verge of defeat. Mankind's last hope now lies with a washed-up ex-pilot, an untested trainee and an old, obsolete Jaeger.
A couple of day's ago I came across a $500,000 sister movie of PR called Atlantic Rim. It was so bad I feel like I need to do this, or that bullshit will never get out of my head.
I'm partial to jumping straight into the roleplay, just 'cause character templates take a lotta work.
This sexy piece of machine would be the Jaeger our characters would control
I absolutely hate you for using the word sexy to refer to a machine but I really can't say it's not
It looks like a badass wifi router and I love it
So, do you want me to start?
Since I barely know much about this(I'm gonna try and find the movie tonight) yes pleeeaaase
THis is what it looks like on the inside
This is what they're about to fight
"God damn, that is one ugly motherfucker," Duncan mumbled as they approached the forest.
Alabama 11 was hanging from 5 transport helicopters, as stiff as a barrel as they waited to approach landing distance. This was a very weird occurrence. Kaiju typically don't venture 1 mile or so past the coast, yet here this big ass motherfucker was, 50 miles inland, stopping through a forest. It towered over even Ol' Al, who was a full 340 feet tall. He had to crane his neck to see it's head out of the cockpit, or what Duncan called 'my Wifi router.'
"That is one big ass Category 4," he said into the communication button in his helmet.
"Yeah, we may have underestimated it," said CO Brooks, their squad leader. "You think you can handle it?"
Duncan turned to his new partner, seeing what she thought.
(Bump soda with a side of fries)
((Sorry! I just spent the past almost-ten-minutes searching name sites for a decent name. Gimmeeeee a sec))
"'Course we can handle 'im." Cassandra said, shooting Duncan a wild grin. "This fucker ain't no match for the dream team." She joked, strands of bright pink hair somehow falling in her face, despite her helmet.
He nodded, then switched channels to the helicopters.
"We're close enough, boys, you can drop her."
"Roger."
Snap! snap! Snap! was the only thing they could hear as the lines that held the massive robot in the air all disconnected, dropping them a final 25 feet to the ground. The noise of them fattening 7 trees beneath their feet alerted the Kaiju, who reared its ugly head up at Ol' Al.
"Any names for this thing?" Duncan asked as the controls fit themselves over his arms an legs.
(So basically the two of them share this robot's brainspace and control it together. They're connected neurologically, so they both make the same movements at the same time and share the same thoughts)
((Alright alright alright. You might have to kinda bear with me, or at least help me out lmao))
"Titán." Cassie said without hesitation, wrinkling her nose. "Just means Titan, but it fits, dontcha think? This fuck is huge." She desperately wanted to flip the Kaiju off in response to what she called a 'dirty look'.
"Put your helmet on and get in the controls," he said, a hand hovering over the button that would merge their brains together to control the giant robot.
(They can speak separately, but movements and thoughts are shared. Plus, if the robot gets damaged, they feel pain as if they're the robot)
"Sir yes sir." She quipped, shoving her helmet back on. She waited for the controls to fit themselves on her limbs, then looked over at Duncan. "Rock'n'roll, buckaroo!"
He tapped the button, and both of their bodies lurched as their thoughts float through each other's head. Ever memory, every feeling, every….well, everything.Duncan was the first to recover, and looked up at the Kaiju.
"You ready to go, hotshot?' he asked, grinning despite himself.
"Always." Cassie shot back, still getting over the feeling of the merge. She was perfectly fine keeping her secrets just that, secrets, but there was a greater good here. A greater thrill, too.
In sync, they pounded Alabama's fists together, a form of a challenge that was universal through all species. The Titan roared in response, clawing at the ground with his front claws like a bull.
"Brace for impact!" Duncan shouted as it charged at them, it's glowing blue tongue flying around wildly as its jaw opened up and down in a rapid fashion.
"Woo-hoo!" Was the closest thing to a reply from Cassie, as she planted her feet wider to brace Alabama. Maybe she was a bit too into the danger, but it meant she was willing to go out and do this, so hey.
BOOM! The sound of creaking metal and the feeling of the wind getting knocked out greeted both of them as Alabama was sent flying almost 700 feet away, landing on its back with a thump. The beast pounced onto them, and out of instinct they both raised their arms and gripped Titan's neck. This was Al's bread and butter, 'cause it's hands were essentially LEGO claws with upwards of ten thousand tons of grip force. Its air flow was cut off damn near immediately as they rolled around so Alabama was on top, throttling the massive Kaiju. But it had a trick up its sleeve. It was pretty simple, actually; it just head-butted Al directly in the front of the wifi router, sending a sharp jut of pain down their noses.
((I'm living for your descriptions lmao))
"This would be the perfect time for a switchblade." Cassie grumbled, eyes watering from the impact. A plan. They needed a plan, right? What could they use to their advantage… "Hey Duncan! Y'ever used a shiv before?"
"No," he raid his face crinkled up from the pain. "But I know what your thinking. Yeah, let's do it."
(Using a tree, right?)
((Fuck yeah. I'm so glad you can read my mind, it's great.))
Prison came in handy from time to time, like it did now. "Another thing t' add to your resume." She quipped, as they reached for a tree.
