Oh no, the passion and inspiration is alive and well; my problem is that I have so many ideas that I just keep hopping from one project to the next! 99.9% of them are Spn, the .1 is the DBZ story….
I actually didn't get any hate on any of my projects…. On wattpad I asked one of the admins if there was an easier way to get more traffic to my stuff. I had been using tags, commenting on things that I was reading, etc. No help whatsoever; they replied with something among the lines of "keep doing what you've been doing"…. Which, to me, was equivalent to telling me to screw off. The lack of views and comments on something that I worked so hard on left me severely depressed and disheartened (until I rekindled myself with an idea or two).
Basically the same thing happened on DA…. I had submitted a scanned drawing of mine to a group, and got the response of "the picture is of poor quality. Retake the photo with a better camera, and we might accept your submission."
I went on to point out that it was scanned, and even said that not everyone can afford a high-end professional camera. While I can and do understand that it's their right to reject submissions, it is not okay to assume that everyone has access to equipment capable of taking "quality photos." Sadly that one person ruined DA for me, but I have been debating on returning to that site!
Aaaaaaaand that was much longer than I thought it would be…………
Ah, those are also problems of which I relate to! I write on Wattpad – though I've considered quitting a lot throughout the past year and a half – but for 136 followers, no one reads my books and it makes me feel like my efforts are going unnoticed. My girlfriend, who has like eight followers, gets more reads per part than I do. I would leave if it weren't for my few friends and running role plays there. I put a lot of effort into my fanfics making sure each chapter is long and is free of spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors, as well as properly paragraphed.
Then with having a lot of different ideas, that's also an issue of mine! I have ADHD, so my attention span is everywhere. Once I turned a strange BTS and Phoenix Wright sort of fanfic (please don't question where that idea came from, because I don't know myself) into pure gayness. Then I stopped writing it because that was not meant to happen, and I got more idea. I've had multiple ideas throughout multiple fandoms as well and many incomplete stories due to my wacky attention span and multiple ideas.
To resolve that? I don't know myself, but I write while listening to music, which helps me focus on writing. The writing itself comes easy since I get into character quickly, but I still have a lot of ideas. That's also why I had a short story book. It was where I could test out my other ideas and focus on a main fanfic. Oh, and I also made a page to keep track of ideas to come back to later!
I hope that some of this helps!
