Backstory:

Personality:

Name: Aviani "Avi/Crow" Hunter

Age: 16

Sexuality: Doesn't know, nor does she really care much. Is under the distinct impression that no one would ever care about her that way anyway.

Godly Parent: Unclaimed child of Atë, goddess of mischief, evil, and folly. Which is kind of for good reason, obviously. Legacy of another god, though she only carries the blood, no abilities.

Cabin: Cabin 11, Hermes.

Weapon: Pséftis. An older looking revolver with celestial bronze bullets. Turns into a bronze charm of a little tribal looking crow. Also has multiple knives, though her favorite is always strapped to the ankle opposite her anklet, a gift from someone a while ago.

Powers: Can cause people to have delusions that lead to a downfall of varying degree, from just failing a test to losing sight of their entire goal. Can see what would cause that to happen to someone. Can also manipulate people into believing lies that will fuck up their plans. Seduction of sorts, more towards men. Bring rise to the evil within someone.

Hair color/length/style: Dyed a lighter bright pink. It falls to about just below her shoulder blades when straighter, but alternates between different levels of waviness that end in curly, shortening it. Innocent looking, disarmingly so.

Eye color: Color changing, usually a sort of rainbow look to them. Glow a color specific to the emotion she's controlling, and turn white when she's causing delusions.

Height: 5' exactly and hates it being mentioned.

Skin tone: Naturally bronzed, that darkens in the summer sun exposure.

Build: Tiny. A lithe figure with slender curves, she's got the build and muscles of a dancer, which are useful in a fight or on a quest.

Scars/Identifying marks: Cut through her right eyebrow, set of wicked looking claw mark scars on her left side, missing the tip of her right pinky finger. Various other scars as well. Has a small crescent moon with three stars tattooed just behind her right ear. Crow wings on each collarbone, outstretched like preparing for flight without the bird itself.

Usual clothing: Her CHB shirt is often either tied up to expose her midriff(shoulders cut off to make it a tank top), or cropped. Also wears a black tank top on occasion, especially while questing. Prefers not to wear jackets, because of how constricting they are, but will wear the lighter 'bomber' style jackets, if they're in black, or have designs. Jean shorts, often blackwash and no shoes if possible. If she has to, flip flops. An anklet with bright colorful feathers and beads, and her crow charm. Likes wearing a lot of shiny jewelry, most of it 'borrowed'. Basically, she dresses a lot like a hipster, with her own personal twists.

Backstory: tbd(surprise as well)

Personality: Mischievous, fits in well with her cabin mates. Is just a bit too willing to take things too far though, which can be scary. Manipulator. Very good at seducing people into mental traps, and doesn’t seem to see anything wrong with it until she’s alone. Incredibly self conscious underneath a lot of confidence, and really just wishes people could find some good in her, even though she’s not sure there is any. Touch starved as hell and cried the one time a Demeter kid gave her a hug for saving his cat. Has an underlying soft side she shows almost no one, using her intuition and good observing skills to help others, as long as they don't find out.

Other: Can't hear out of her left ear. Dancer. Has a particular affinity for fire and a soft spot for stars.

@ElderGod-Carrots

Name: Eira Myles

Age: 17

Sexuality: bi-sexual, leans towards females

Godly Parent: Erebus, God of Darkness

Cabin: Cabin 15, Hermes? idkkk

Weapon: Celtic dress sword. Basically a short sword only thinner and lighter and sharper. It has a oak handle with gold accents at the top and the scabbard is made of a very dark leather. It has gold accents as well, the top of the scabbard is a lighter brown leather and has very fine details embroidered, if you look close enough there are old Celtic symbols. Turns into a bracelet with the Celtic symbols engraved into the silver.

Powers: Eira has the ability to manipulate darkness and shadows. This includes creating figures and weapons, she can also very easily blend into any shadow near by. Powers tend to be stronger during dusk and night, for obvious reasons. On the rare occasion, she can use the shadows to jump small distances, but only on very rare occasions.

Hair color/length/style: Her hair is midnight black and falls to just above her bum. It tends to be straight most of the time, though generally when she wakes up it has a few waves. She wears it down generally, if not it's half up half down with the upper half having three small braids on the top.

Eye color: her eyes are a very deep, dark and enchanting blue. It's a strange colour, sometimes it looks like the eye has undertones of purple, other times undertones of black. They're very beautiful, and something she is the most complimented on.

Height: She's around 5'6, maybe slightly taller.

Skin tone: Pasty pale white. Honestly she could rival Snow White in the skin tone department and she never tans.

Build: She's not… tiny but she is skinny, fit would be the right word. Slightly curvy. (slim thicccc) Strong muscled even though one wouldn't know it. Definitely works out more then she should but still.

Scars/Identifying marks: Has many, many scars, most littered on her chest and her back, some on her arms. She has one right through her eye, very much making her look a lot like an evil villain from a movie, maybe Scar from the Lion King. Also has one on the left side of her face connecting from the side of her mouth to the cheek, think the Joker but only on one side. She has large, swirl like tattoo's running along her upper body and down her arms, they extend down her back to form a three mountain peak, above the peak is the Celtic symbol Triquetra, used as a rune of protection. Not that you'd know, she always has them covered.

Usual clothing: Wears pretty much exclusively black. Black biker jeans and leggings, a black leather jacket over her shirt. Black leather converse or trainers, sometimes sandals depending on the task at hand. She wears a silver bracelet on her left hand, a small gem the colour of her eyes attached. She always wear a necklace of the same design, never removes them.

Backstory: Once Eira was born, her dad vanished, surprise surprise, leaving just her and her mum for a while. She was abused from a very young age, her mother taking out her anger on the child. Her step dad did the same, as well as some… nonce behaviour… Anyway, she never classified them as her parents, didn't even want to come to the camp since it associated with her dad, another thing she didn't want. Figured out she liked females from a young age, had trouble accepting it but now she's chill with it.

Personality: Comes off as very aggressive and closed off. Very much a warrior, willing to get into a fight as soon as she can. Tends to spend a lot of her time alone, which she enjoys. Doesn't speak too much mainly because she spends a lot of time alone although she is willing. Hates sharing any personal information, hates talking about herself. Suffers from depression, something she has had for a long time. Used to be a self harmer, although she tries not to fall into bad habits anymore. Once you've got underneath all of those, she is very much a softie. Has a lot of care for the Earth, and once she's attached to people, a lot of care for them as well. Will protect you at any cost, including dying or harming herself for you. Doesn't find a lot of things funny but when she does, she has a lovely laugh and smile.

Other: She loves gardening, finds it very relaxing although she'd never tell anyone that. Is actually an amazing singer/songwriter and can play piano.

Phew that took too long, sorry I had to go out and then went to the gym oof but her she is, hope she's semi decent

@croccin-champagne

Fjfhd I love her so much? She is babey. It's kinda funny how opposite Avi she is tbh

I'll get a starter up some time after o get home from my after school club, unless you want to start us off, which is also welcome!

@ElderGod-Carrots

Why tank you, I actual love her too and yeah I have no clue how to start so I’ll wait for you lol (ps, made a slight adjustment to the identifying marks bit because I came up with another idea when in bed last night reee)

@croccin-champagne

The prophecy came at night, in the middle of the campfire sing-along.

Avi never sang along with the camp songs, preferring instead to do her nails, or chat with whichever campers she was sitting next to. Most of them didn't trust her, but some of them would at least listen and sometimes talk back. None of them would get too close, though. She was a bad luck charm, to the already-superstitious demigods. That's because everyone who quests with you dies. Or, at the least, went missing. Though, the two times that had happened were caused by reasons no one else could know..

It was as she was discussing the merits of owning ducks that the Oracle's voice carried through the music, over the chatter and singing clearly. Avi, who had been sitting down in the front row, was on her feet as soon as Rachel began to speak, moving quickly to catch the redhead as she collapsed.

"As soon as the moon turns blue, a broken man shall cause the fall."

The campers all fell silent, listening as she continued to give the prophecy while Avi held her up. Line after line, the amphitheater was silent, minus the sound of the fire and the Oracle's voice, giving the usual vague prophecy.

Vague right up until the Oracle mentioned the children of war, folly, and darkness. A mess of a mixture, and explosive. Especially considering the only 'child of peace' at camp was…

@ElderGod-Carrots

Eira never liked the campfire sing-a-longs. In fact she hated them. Normally, she liked singing, she was good at it, but she never sang in front of other people.

She's stuck to the shadows, a place where she knew she was welcomed. Even though she had been at the camp for a very long time, you'd think she'd feel welcomed here. But no, she didn't, but she stayed for reasons unknown for her.

When the prophecy started, she stepped forward slightly, heading to the front of the crowd with confusion written all over her features. Why couldn't these things explain what they needed clearly and not in some weird metaphors and vague descriptions.

Out of all the demigods here in the camp, of course she had to be one of the three mentioned, and her eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Why her? Why those three? Why now? It made no sense but then again, prophecies never did.

@croccin-champagne

Avi adjusted her hold on Rachel, shifting the girl so that she could support her with an arm around her waist. That allowed her to look out and survey the confused and wary campers, eyes picking out Eira easily, based on the disgruntled look on her face.

"A child of war, a child of folly, and a child of darkness." She said, voice carrying easily and silencing the murmurs. It was a talent of hers, commanding attention even when she didn't want it. Possibly the price of what her mother had given her. "Ares or Athena, me, and darkness is fairly obvious. So how about it? The moon ain't blue yet, but time's-a-tickin'."

@ElderGod-Carrots

Eira slipped a hand into her pocket, glancing around before her eyes landed back on Avi and Rachel, "We don't exactly have a choice, do we?" She shrugged a shoulder, taking a few steps closer to the two other females, still obviously pissed that she was one of the chosen three, "Guess we'd better get going. But where too? A desert?"

@croccin-champagne

Avi furrowed her brows slightly, continuing to survey the campers as she thought. The prophecy had struck something all too familiar. “Arizona.” She finally said, hating the taste of the word in her mouth, the memories it drew up. “The locals refer to the sunset there as the sky filling with fire, and there’s…a legend I heard once. It’s the closest fit. Now we just need-“

“Me.” A voice said, startling Avi. As soon as she laid eyes on the boy in cargo pants with a shield strapped to his back, she shook her head, opening her mouth to say something. He cut her off. “Don’t even, Crow. That curse shit is bullshit, and I’m your friend. I’m coming with. Anyway,” The dark skinned boy turned to Eris, saluting her. “Call me Cain.”

@ElderGod-Carrots

Eira nodded once back in return, tilting her head slightly as she gave Cain a once over, “Eira. Too bad we couldn’t have been introduced under different circumstances.” She looked back to Avi, “To Arizona, then. Well we should pack a bag and get going, the quicker we get there the better.”

She sighed. Looks like they were all in for a road trip. And a long one at that. The quicker they got this prophecy crap over with the better, they quicker they could get back and things coils go back to the way they should be.

@croccin-champagne

"I don't have anything to pack, just a bag to grab." Avi said, motioning a blonde boy over. He didn't speak a word, didn't even look her in the eyes as he took on carrying Rachel, hauling her over to the rows of benches. A handful of tanned kids–all carrying the same almost glow–gathered around to make sure she was okay. "And, of course, some friends to say goodbye to." Hermes kids. The only ones at camp who, in general, tolerated and even liked her. Mainly because their councilor had threatened the whole cabin, back when she had first shown up.

"Do we want to go with each other to each stop, or split and meet back up at the Big House? Someone has to tell Chiron where we're going, so.." Cain chimed in, causing Avi to make a face. Every memory involving the Big House, for her, was tainted with grief or the sting of disappointment aimed at her.

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Well hi :) long time no see)

"I'd rather not be dragged around having to listen to unnecessary conversation between you and your friends." Being apart of a prophecy was one thing, having to deal with talking to people was another, listening to someone saying some sappy goodbye was crossing a line. Or maybe that was just her and the fact that she hated people.

"We split up. I grab my things, you grab yours and do whatever the Hell you need to and we meet at the Big House in ten, maybe fifteen." The quicker they set off the better. Eira didn't know how much time they had and getting started as soon as possible was the wise thing to do.

@croccin-champagne

((hey! sorry for the long wait, my brain sometimes shuts down on roleplays and it can take a bit to ever be able to respond again. sounds kinda stupid but that's my dumbass brain for you lmao))

"Works for me." Avi said, patting Cain's shoulder as he forced a dramatically sad expression. "A handful of drachma says I'll beat both of you there." Cain opened his mouth to respond, but she was already turning to Eira, eyes a shifting amalgamation of browns and golds. "Bring everything you'd normally bring on a quest, of course. And as much money as you possibly can, but keep that on you. Everybody always under-preps with cash. And something that's sentimental. See you in ten." With that, she turned, shoeless feet making their way away from the other two.

"You two are gonna get along great." Cain joked, shaking his head. "Anyway, best of luck packing. Though, aren't you two in the same cabin? Don' see why she bothered leaving like that…" He trailed off, muttering to himself and staring off at nothing with a thoughtful expression. Probably a perfect time for Eira to slip away.

@ElderGod-Carrots

(It's all good man, happens to the best of us. Nice to see you again though, hope you're doin okay <3)

Eira couldn't help but roll her eyes, her usual, signature frown etched into her features. This quest was going to be a nightmare, she could already feel it. She was going to make a comment to Avi, however she was already gone by the time she had opened her mouth. Fantastic. Eira didn't bother telling Cain that her cabin was a couple down from Avi's but found it pointless. His muttering gave her the opportunity to slip into the shades and disappear back to her safe haven.

She wasn't an idiot, and in her time at the camp she'd gone on multiple different quests leaving her with a good idea of what to pack and bring. Money, yes. A weapon, not that she went anywhere without it. Water, spare food, the usual. She didn't exactly have anything sentimental to bring, apart from her necklace and bracelet however she didn't take those off to begin with.

@croccin-champagne

((i'm doing alright! went through some rough patches, a lot of shit has happened in the past like, half a year and boy could i tell some stories. but after it all, everything is a lot better! how are you doing? also a quick note on the sentimental item thing, avi uses them when on quests to help her know where people are. it takes a lot more energy, especially long distance, but when things happen and people get separated…she doesn't really care))

The Hermes cabin was, as usual, a bustle of activity. The campfire's end had been sudden, and the prophecy gave an excuse for campers to slip off to go hang out with friends or head back to cabins and workstations. Which was why as soon as Avi stepped into cabin 11, she was greeted with a round of cheering.

"Alright, alright. I get it, ha ha, curse-girl is once again sent on a quest." Avi said, adding a faked note of disgruntled resentment to her voice. "So, where's the list of things I'm supposed to grab on my way back? We all know that's the only reason you're so excited." She received muttering from that, huffing a laugh as she headed to her bunk to grab her bag. While so many campers still slept on the floor–it happened, when gods had literally no clue they'd had a kid, or from a year full of Hermes traveling a lot–more bunks were use-able. Older campers still had first dibs, and Avi may have scared off a camper or two for her own.

"Right here, darlin'." A voice called from behind her, and a boy with curly brown hair and eyes that said 'watch your wallet' slung an arm around her shoulders. "It's been updated, don't worry. And we've got the cash stash for you too."

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Gotcha :) and yeah same same, going through a little bit of a rough patch having lost a few friends, moved schools and currently going through a break up but things should start looking up soon, hopefully)

Eira's cabin was quiet, just how she liked it. It usually was, the people she was bunked with were older campers, just like her, who had been at the camp for quite sometime. They weren't friends but they were all civil with each other and got along well when they wanted.

However she didn't stop for conversation. Sure, her and couple of the guys in the cabin discussed what the prophecy might mean for a few moments while she packed, double and then triple checking she had more money then she needed but that was about it. It didn't take her long, mainly because there was no point in staying for longer then needed when she didn't have to say goodbye to anyone, really.

She slung her bag over her shoulder, hoisting it up and making sure she had her bracelets on before heading to the meeting point. Eira just hoped Avi didn't take too long.

@croccin-champagne

((with that many things all at once, things are bound to look up eventually, if not very soon!))

By the time Avi was finally 'allowed' to leave her cabin, she was already fishing for that handful of drachma, just in case. Though she had the leg up of being a bit closer than Eira was, cabin wise, her bunkmates were still an incredibly chatty bunch, even if some of them weren't fond of Avi.

Still barefoot, with a pair of cheap flip flops tied to her bag using a cord, she jogged her way there, soaking in the wind from her movement and imagining for a second she was standing at the beach, enjoying a cool summer day. And then she was there, before Cain but just after Eira.

"Well, shit, looks like I owe you." Avi said, pulling the small handful of coins from her pocket and offering them to the other girl as she came to a full stop. Only to bounce on the balls of her feet. The sun was going down, and her eyes were focused on the sky, as opposed to her companion. Watching for the stars to peak out.

@ElderGod-Carrots

(Ahhh, yes indded)

Eira sighed, shaking her head, "Keep it. At least until we get back from whatever this quest really is." She didn't care for dumb bets like that. They were a waste of time and a distraction. She had enough money at this point. Hopefully it would last the trip with Avi and Cain putting in whatever they had as well. If she was being honest she had forgotten about the bet a mere minute or two after Avi had dashed off, more focused on the task at hand then anything else.

"Why do you think Arizona is the right place to go?" She asked, crossing her arms across her chest. Out of all the states, all the places that were practically deserts, why did Avi think Arizona was the place to start? It had nagged at her from the moment she had said it.

@croccin-champagne

"Magic." Avi said simply, tucking away the money and keeping her eyes on the sky. "You know when you just….get this gut feeling about something? Like, somewhere, some part of you just knows that one thing connects to another, even if you want to pretend it doesn't?" She asked, her voice soft. Right now, there was no trace of her brazen nonchalance, or even that bitchiness to put people off. She just sounded tired. Resigned, maybe wary.

"There's this legend, that I was raised on. Other gods, spirits and deities. Other myths. And I think…I think something's happening, with that. There. The sky-"

"Hey! Sorry, I was dragged into an arm wrestling match." Cain called out, as he made his way up the hill to them, unaware of cutting Avi off. She didn't seem to mind, one hand playing with her hair. "I swear, it don't matter how many times I say 'y'all, I have to go, like now', nobody fuckin' listens in that cabin. Anyway, we ready to send a sacrifice in to let Chiron know we're shipping out?"

@ElderGod-Carrots

Eira listened, for once. Sure, Avi seemed like a dumbass who did things for the fun of it and thought about her actions later, she seemed sure of what she was saying this time. Like she knew. Her tone made Eira trust her on her decision, if only slightly, it was still something.

She was going to reply when Cain cut her off. Was going to make a comment on the point but found it useless so she dropped the issue. On the matter of who was going to go in… "I say Avi and I go," She shrugged, "Two is better then one in this instance, anyway."
