Yo. Ask me about my AUs. I… want to use some. Specifically, I have an AU where Nureyev settles down with Juno on Mars and assists in being gay and solving crime because I Want Shit To Go Down. Also Trans Nureyev for the win lol. I am trans and I support this message.
Rules are no smut, gore violence and swearing are fine, and have fun!
We probably won’t need templates but if we do I’ll provide one.
I kinda knew you would like this idea if I’m being honest-
So… wanna begin?
Or do you want to talk plot first?
Cool! So, the plot I had in mind is shown above, because I want Peter to just. Immediately go “Ramses sus” but mainly from like, jealousy because I tend to characterize pre-Man In Glass Peter as really overprotective and a bit possessive because character flaws are fun to work on. Also, it would give Nureyev a better point to be in contact with Buddy and Vespa in the case of season three, as well as establish more trust and like, have him not be dealing with debt as it was never brought up in earlier seasons and I doubt it would have existed then lol. Another point is that Nureyev, while less observant than Juno, would likely be just as good of a detective due to his skills as a thief. You want to catch a thief, you need to think like one, you know? I’d probably be sticking to the main plot of season two because this AU is effectively a rewrite and I’m not that clever when it comes to mysteries, unfortunately. Although, Valles Vicky might show up again in this because I love her and she deserves the world.
If you have any ideas for plot points or character arcs, lemme know! I want to make this fun!
If you wanna be! I do lean towards Nureyev since I borderline kin him (the honor of actually kinning goes to Rita and Jet) and I can characterize him better lol.
(Bro I kin Nureyev but I can't write him for shit lol)
So, how do you want to start?
I know, I just have like, zero ideas lmao.
Ahhh maybe some domestic bliss? Idk I just think something soft and fluffy would be nice and we can get to the angst later.
I’m assuming I’m starting because my brain is slow today and anyways, let us go. One minute, and the starter will be up!
Nureyev was busy in the kitchen, trying and failing to cook breakfast. He was pretty sure the fire alarm was beeping, but he couldn’t hear it over the oven’s incessant droning from it’s own built in fire alar- okay. So every fire alarm in the house must be going off on him right now. Dammit.
He’d just wanted to surprise Juno, the lady needed a break from doing all of the cooking (takeout was expensive in Hyperion, it was cheaper to cook even if it was time-consuming), and Peter just wanted to do something special for him. But he was failing, and he never failed. So why this, then?
Juno stumbled out of the bedroom, obviously still half asleep from the way he slurred his words. "What's wrong?" He mumbled, rubbing his eye with the back of one hand. "'S loud." He paused for a minute, leaning against the wall and wrinkling his nose. "And smells bad." Juno remarked, a bit more awake as he watched smoke pour from the oven.
“Juno, I apologize, I didn’t mean for everything to turn out so terribly and I- I was trying to cook for you, but I burned the food. I wasn’t paying close enough attention, I’m sorry. This was supposed to be a cheesecake, but obviously I failed. Why do they call it a cheesecake if no cheese is involved?” Peter rambled, flustered and embarrassed and too comfortable around Juno to put up his calm, cool persona.
Juno sighed. "Just sit down Nureyev. It's fine." He blinked away the last remains of sleep as he strided over to the oven and pulled out what he now knew was supposed to be a cheesecake. "It's called cheesecake because there's cream cheese in it." He answered absentmindedly, reaching around to shut off the oven alarm.
Peter put on some oven mitts and disposed of the mess he had made, then sat, crossing one leg over the other as he leaned back on the chair. Was he losing his touch? Usually he mastered anything he put his mind to, but this…. this was impossible. He should just give up, routinely steal enough money to dine finely, that sort of thing. Except Juno didn’t approve of him stealing, so he’d probably have to do what he dreaded most: pick up a job. Especially with how Juno hadn’t taken a case in months, now.
(Honestly, the Nureyev Can’t Cook headcanon is one of my favorites. It combines humor with mild angst and honestly makes sense to me. He gets around a lot, he’d probably not have the time to learn to cook properly. Then, take Juno, whose cooking is probably decent because most of Hyperion is rather poor so he’d have to do a lot of work to support his family, you know? So like. The contrast lol.)
