Not sure if this is a condition but I have two characters sharing a body and I wanted to know what sort of benefits and downsides to sharing a body. If you have any questions please ask!!

It's difficult. I've had to deal with it in the past.
I have quite a few of these things down. I'm just looking for more.
Alright.

I've never written this situation, but logically speaking I think a downside would be (depending on how the minds of the two characters are connected) memory. I imagine the characters' memories or opinions would start to mix after a while…
That would make sense. Two would eventually become one.
There's a mental illness similar to that of this condition. It's known as MPD or DID, Multiple personality disorder and Dissociative identity disorder.
I have multiple characters with this in my various projects and have studied quite a bit on it. I am aware that the shared body thing you are doing isn't DID or MPD, but the side effects will help you a lot to correctly write this.
Here are some helpful sites on this disorder:

I hope this helps, may you have happy writing!
There is a YouTube channel called DissocaDID that really helps educate people about DID. There is also one called Jeremy: An Alternate Perspective. This channel shoes day to day life with DID
