hi! i'm writing a character who's supposed to have insomnia. if there's anyone here that does have it, or knows a lot about it, that could give me some pointers on how to make it more authentic, i would appreciate it a lot. thanks very much, and have a great day/night! :D
I mean a lot of the time it's kinda just lying there, trying to sleep.
I can sometimes be up for hours and not be able to fall asleep.
Sometimes I'm overtired, so even if I feel tired my body won't let me get to sleep.
Obviously, insomnia is different for everyone.
This is only what happens to me, not to someone else.
Sleep is nonexistent
very much so, quite accurate
I got this thing called acute insomnia so it's not all the time, only a few days at a time, it comes and goes
I don't know about you guys but after a certain point I just get hella paranoid- like, I'm an already paranoid bastard but it just tenfolds
I already have psychotic depression but insomnia just makes it worse
I feel so fucking tired all the time, I can't function and my brain is constantly struggling to grasp things
I'll be in such a pissy mood, I snap at everything to the point where it's not funny anymore
Body feels heavy and my head is in a constant fog as I try to complete my daily tasks
In all honesty, sometimes I wish I were dead because it gets that bad
I want sleep so bad but I just cant
I toss and turn and force my eyes to close but my thoughts are always active so it's near impossible
In fact, here I am at 4 am typing this because I've been trying to sleep for over seven hours but I know that's not gonna happen
I do get medication to help me with it but I haven't ordered a refill for it cause things are a lil tough on my end, I don't have enough money for it
I think I have some type of insomnia that only affects me about half of the time, and usually I just can't sleep. I'm not usually paranoid, usually tired, but sleep is a jerk and decides not to work with me. I mean it's 4:27 and I'm up so…
I have a different type of insomnia, where I can get to sleep just fine, but I wake up a lot more during the night than I'm supposed to, so it often disrupts my sleep cycle. I am constantly tired and often end up napping a lot during the day. (I may also have a more serious sleep disorder or something that I still need to consult a doctor about, so idk if this will actually be helpful.)
