My story has a race of humanoids that has the ability to speak to the dead and transform into a demonic cat. I'm basing them off of nekomatas from Japanese mythology. Like, they has two tails. But I kind of want to make a cross between a demon and cat in appearance.
In a lot of visual media, demons have unnaturally coloured eyes (like red, orange, black), bat-type wings and horns. You could create a cat-type creature with horns and red or black eyes, and possibly larger fangs (think saber-tooth tiger).
This would make it less cat-like, but you could make the front two legs like bat wings and create a sort of cat-bat-demon-wyvern thing.
I just imagine a cat with glowing eyes that can grow big when it's angry. My dumb brain….

Ooh, put some crazy looking webbed bat wings as their ears. agree with larger fangs, possibly something different with their claws (i just watched Jurrasic Park, so I'm imagining 6in talons haha), and maybe their whiskers could could extremely thin … whiskers that move around (like they are floating in water)
I think I'll keep the saber teeth and 6in claws, maybe the wings are made of pure darkness, maybe the tails are demon tails, they have horns, the eyes glow whatever color their eyes are in human form, and they're 2 times their human form's size, like dragons.
