any ideas open for creatures for a post apocalyptic i normaly have 5 category,s radiated,deformed,genetic(hybrid),evolved,and mental mutations
radiated=radiated animal. deform=deformed beast. evolved=upgraded creature. genetic=hybrid creature. mental=intelligent or other mental mutation ability creatures.
To really get the terror factor with a predator in a post apocalyptic setting, I usually try to combine a well known predator with a animal that has a specific niche. For example a lynx with a piranha’s teeth. Or a feathered wolf with wings.

Quick disclaimer that 'evolved' may not always mean 'improved'–at least not in a way one might expect. It really depends on what kind of post-apocalypse you're writing about, and how long it's been since the apocalyptic event. The last three categories on your list will take a healthy amount of time to develop in any world, like at least a century depending on how fast the species multiplies and adapts to its surroundings. A notable exception: if humans intervene to speed things up, such as through selective breeding or genetic modification.
