@WaffleWizard

Just curious.
Most of mine end up being boys because I find it easier to make them different from myself and my sister/bff.
Though a lot of my villains are girls. Mostly because I've met a lot of mean girls. I should probably stop making every villain a girl.
What about you guys?

I also have way more guys than girls, to the point where I'm really rusty and inexperienced when it comes to developing female characters. I really need to work on that XD
I don't have many major female villains, either. adds to list of plans for future stories

@Lunar_Eclipse

Lets see…
Looking at my characters from stories….
I have one more male than female.
Rp characters tooonnss more males than females.

@corbinheb3

most of my characters are guys and I like it that way, but i'm a gorl and have n o c l u e what goes on inside a guys head, lol.

Yeah right. I might portray my male characters completely wrong, who knows. But at least I have fun writing it. :)

I have a fairly even balance, but I may have more men than women, if anything. I also have a character who is nonbinary, and I'd like to add other characters who aren't cis, but we'll see.

I mean honestly I'd love to have tons of cool girl OCs but……every time I try to make a girl character, I get worried that she'll be judged as stereotypical (even if I explicitly try to make her break stereotypes). I realized recently that this insecurity stems from the most fundamental aspect of misogyny out there: Women are judged and questioned literally no matter what they do. So, yeah, I'm trying not to worry about it as much XD

@HighPockets group

Why does everyone have so many male characters. Why not instead have legions of badarse female warriors?

Because a character's gender doesn't determine their badassery? I have an equal balance, but probably more girls altogether, and I have soft girls, tough girls, soft boys, and tough boys.

Idk why, but I have a really hard time writing female characters. Probably because I have the constant thought that she might somehow be a Mary Sue or somehow a bad character. I can also never seem to get in the heads of female characters quite like I can with my guys, even though I am a woman.

Yeah right. Either they're to perfect or I over compensate and make all of my female characters really obnoxious.

@jantz

pretty balanced. I don't think one gender is dominant over the other in terms of power or strength. granted, they both have their perks and flaws.
Also (off topic)
A powerful character doesn't make it a good one
A super powerful male character with no personality isn't a good character
A super powerful female character with no personality isn't a good character

I'd personally rather read about the weak character with loads of personality

Most of my characters are males, but I’ve recently started getting back to creating females too. Then there’s just characters that aren’t really anything.

I try to balance it out but I think I might have more guys

@Dragoncita group

I have more male charries than I do females
I prefer playing males over females, but I can do females as well

As I will quote my one friend from long ago:
'I don't like playing female characters very much they are to…. Meh and guys are just like WA-BAM! punched in the face.'

@Your_Local_Scrivener

I write more males in my want-to-publish story, but there are female characters who know what they want and who they are, and in my private works there's about an equal mix, with more females being in narrating roles. In my private work there's all sorts across orientation, and I'm considering trying to experiment with an intersex character and other nonbinary people.

Ok, I have mostly females because I'm female and it's easier for me too write because I know what it's like to be female rather than male. But I do have a few gender fluid and non-binary characters. Yeah…. I really need more male characters….

AbbyAlways

I never write male characters in any kind of main position, I had one as a love interest once. I've had tons of gender non-conforming characters so I'm okay I guess?
