Cather

You can also explain why. Does it have something to do with their past, personality, emotions, ect.

@personfullofplotholes language

I haven't made up her sheet yet but Melyssa's is 100% "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'." Not in any romantic sense, but just the general "middle finger to the world at large" aesthetic that song has.

@CasiCasino group

(Long Reply Incoming…)
(Note : A lot of these are Asian songs. I would really recommend listening to them)

Aisen Faltur
Theme Song : Duality — Set It Off
Two main reasons; one, his ability is literally called Duality and two, he has two sides of himself that needs to be taken care of respectively. One side is a nice, the other is a bad and maniacal side.

Nathan Nevaeh
Theme Song : Kaze no Uta — FLOW
Okay, first off, this song is AMAZING. It’s so energetic which explains Nathan almost perfectly. Even though the original version doesn’t have subtitles, you will feel be refreshed listening to this blessed song.
(P.S. vivi’s version is also amazing)

Carlsen Faltur
Theme Song : Haiiro to Ao — Kenshi Yonezu
THIS.SONG.IS.GOLD.
Nostalgia, Hope, Waiting, Changes, all of this explains who Carlsen is as a person so much. He was left alone by someone he truly loves and for some reason, decided to wait instead of letting go. He has hope, sure, that alone wasn’t enough unfortunately.
(Further info will reveal parts of my story, sorry)

Steven Rail
Theme Song : Branded — NateWantsToBattle
Nate is one of those artists who are honestly too underrated. He’s so good! And ‘Branded’ was and still is one of favorite songs ‘til this day. It presents you with so much energy, so many counter feelings and most importantly basically a good song all around. Rainer’s one of those characters whose past involve around him being outcasted. So yes, ‘Branded’ explains his past relatively well.

Rainer Frost
Theme Song : Snowman — Halyosy (KAITO)
First off, Vocaloid songs are considered songs and you can’t change my mind. This song’s rhythm is so upbeat you might think it’s a happy song. Well, not until you read the lyrics. I’ll tell you this: Rainer will play part as the boy in the song and not the snowman. Please listen to this masterpiece, I beg you.
(P.S. zoozbuh’s English version of this song is a must try)

Cronos Flynn
Theme Song : Pandemic — Team O.B.N.N.
Again, another underrated song. This one though, is a banger, I can guarantee you. Though I’ll have to tell you first though, this song is like the voices inside Cronos’ mind singing to him rather than him singing to someone else. It’s so fitting for what kind of person Cronos is.

Damien Everett
Theme Song : Niwaka Ame — Hanatan
Anyone who knows Hanatan will know that she has the voice of a literal angel. This song is not really well known but it is a perfect fit for Damien’s past. Waiting for someone you love to return only to realize that they’re building another relationship without you knowing? Rough times…

Asher Dean
Theme Song : Antidote — Faith Marie
Oh boy, this song is deep af. When we talk about mental illnesses, most people would either show signs of it or just plainly tell people they have them… Asher’s an example of an exception. He’s so disgusted by the thought that if he people knew he was mentally ill, they would call him sick and with the duties of a doctor on his shoulders, he can’t really afford to be a patient of his own mastery.

Lachlan Gardener
Theme Song : DiGiTAL WiNG — Hanatan
Another Hanatan song, they’re all awesome anyways. To be honest, I don’t know how to explain it for this one. It just kinda fits Lachlan’s past with his relationship I guess. Though I’ve got to say, this was the song that got me liking Hanatan in the first place.

Oliver Haste
Theme Song : Romanesque Romancia — Ariabl’eyeS
Before I start, Ariabl’eyeS is an amazing artist. Okay, time to ramble about Oliver. Even though this was meant for a woman warrior or something like that… it’s so fitting for Oliver for some odd reason. Just imagine a dude in a black jacket, summoning thousands of black needles that give people nightmares, fighting in a dusted battlefield against millions of enemies alongside eleven other Knights of his own kind is just… GAH!!!

Connor Lewis
Theme Song : Kegare naki Bara Juuji — Ariabl’eyeS
Give me one good, one really good reason why you don’t like this song other than you don’t understand it. Because this song is the closest to my definition of perfect. It’s channeling defeat and triumph of war in one song and the artist(s) blended them in so well. Connor’s the kind of person who would gladly sacrifice himself for a greater cause, a martyr for that matter. So this song, I can already see him singing this at war.

Joseph Benjamin
Theme Song : The Reason I Wanted To Die — Nakashima Mika
Lastly, let’s end this series of characters in the best way ever. This song is so f—king good!!! It’s sad, it’s hopeful, it’s defeat, it’s triumph, it’s emotional, it’s life, it’s everything you can ask for in a song. I don’t think I’ll have to say more than this. Though of course, I like this one a little less than Kegare naki Bara Juuji.

The Knights of The Labyrinth
Lastly, these characters are part of a group of characters of mine named Knights of the Labyrinth. And with that, the Knights of the Labyrinth do have a theme for the whole group of characters which is…

Theme Song : 追憶の薔薇 — Ariabl’eyeS

This is by far, the song that describes my story’s aesthetics the best. Do yourself a favor and listen to this song.

( @Swim_is_descendent_of_Crinan_the_Thane, you might wanna read this for context and quality content)

@Yamatsu

Yamatsukami
Theme Song: When We Fall – Streetlight Manifesto
It's all about sticking up for yourself and your friends when the whole world is out to get you, especially when the whole world believes that they can do whatever they want to you.

Aqua
Theme Song: I'll Face Myself – Persona 4
This poor boy's gone through some shit, and the introspective nature matches his feelings of palling around with Yama despite his own internal battle surrounding the war he was dragged into.

Sharla Kaiser
Theme Song: Mirror Mirror – Jeff & Casey Lee Williams
The song is about the loneliness of the singer which matches Sharla's feelings of being an outcast within her family and her need to find approval from the father that she always feared.

Guinevere
Theme Song: Got Your Six – Five Finger Death Punch
This song kicks so much ass, which works well with a kickass woman like Guinevere. She decided to leave her family to live with the dragon she loved and supports him and her son with everything she's got. She's also one of the physically strongest people in my story, which helps a lot.

Gawain
Theme Song: Mean Green Mother From Outer Space – Levi Stubbs (Little Shop of Horrors)
Granted, the song is about a giant carnivorous plant, but no one tends to mess with a carnivorous 20-foot-tall dragon, do they? This is basically whenever he gets into a fight, as he's one of the most powerful dragons despite being a runt.

All of them together
Theme Song: Messing With the Best – Miracle of Sound
Pretty self-explanatory from the title alone.

Cather

My plan worked! I siphoned some great songs off you guys. If you have Spotifys I suspect we get similar recommendations. Also glad I’m not the only one envisioning their characters when listening to music… I have no idea what normal people think about.

Deleted user

Ifera: Bloom on my own by onlyevva (prod. garret). The song is basically the theme song for heartbroken sadists, and that's exactly what she is.
Maaleshiira: Star Shopping by Lil Peep. The whole 'I love you' vibe of the song describes his mentality. He's madly in love with someone and he can't stop thinking about them and would do anything for them (even die for them heheheh)
Kalevi: Gnarly Bastard by xxxtentacion. The whole vibe of the song is aggressive and angry. And, well. She's both of those things
My main character, Elise: King (Chediak remix) by xxxtentacion. This song doesn't have any intelligible lyrics except screams of pain but I don't know. It just suits her and her past. (It's actually a hella good song-) It kind of sets you on edge, and the screams are just really cool sounding?? I can't explain it lol

@Torpion language

Amber: Fight Song by Rachel Plattern (They lyrics, voice and beat of the song pretty much sum her up)
Dominik: Zero by Imagine Dragons (It actually matches his personality fairly well :0)
Cole: Waving Through a Window (Dear Evan Hansen) or It's Gonna Be Okay by Piano Guys
Karia: Shatter Me (Lindsay Sterling) Idk, it just kinda matches up with her lol
Kash: oLD tOWn roAD

hhhhhh I like this prompt lol 😂

@Torpion language

OH I FORGOT

Kimber: Trampoline (I forgot the artist, but it's a clean pop song that's edgy and catchy and kinda haunting)
Kelai: More Than You Know (Actually, I'm still trying to find a song that fits him, but this is the best I can find rn 😂)

@Leshierian

I have around fourteen characters. they don't all have songs though..
I also have songs for places…

Elio: Rain by Cavetown. I don't really remember why… She likes the rain though.. and it's kinda like her protection. While the rest of her and everyone's world falls apart.

Haven: Solider, poet, king by Oh Hellos. He is a fantasy nerd, I imagine him trying to lift a big sword and Failing. I think the poet would be his best friend, Robyn.

Jairo: No children by Mountain goats. he doesn't have a wife.. he's fourteen. It just symbolizes his relationship with Micah.

Micah: Sweet tooth by Scott Helman. I guess, it's because Micah doesn't really exist the same as most people.. So, Micah can never get enough of this world.. I guess..

Neo: (There are three songs) I promise I'm trying by cavetown. this song is because of Neo's condition. And it's about how Albin always used to help Neo. I'm not a saint by Billy Raffoul. the beginning is more figurative. This one is, I think about how Neo is an outcast and Albin was too, and how Albin was the only one who would/could listen. You're somebody else by Flora Cash. this one is because Albin changed, A lot. And how Neo felt betrayed.

Spencer: Bullet by Hollywood Undead. This is Spencer's mindset most of the time. Minus the alcohol and drugs. She's constantly on the edge of life. She's tried and been caught so many times.

That's all I have right now…

@Reblod flag

ahh theme songs
I can't be bothered to explain all of them but we can assume that they're all there for a reason. I think listening to these songs you can get a good idea about the character or at least a part of them. Anyway have some songs

@hyunjins-eyemole

Luciana- You should see me in a crown by Billie Eilish she’s the antagonist and all she cares about is herself even though she’s own an orphanage. The orphanage is her kingdom of slaves.
Lydia Rose- Boy in the Bubble by Alec Benjamin She was basically abandoned by her parents because they never cared for her or her sis Emmi. She always took care of Emmi even though her parents died when Emmi was 3 months.
Adalaine- Waves by Dean Lewis or I’m a Mess by Bebe Rehxa or Older by Sasha Sloan (she’s is my precious and I can’t pick one song.) although the story is from Lydia, Emmi and Willows point of view also, Adalaine is the protagonist and she was raised in an abusive household where her father left and her mother was constantly drunk. Her mother physically and verbally abused Laine leaving her with both physical and mental scars but she never shows them
Emmi- Little Girl by Faith Marie She is the happiest little orphan ever. She is happy go lucky even when life pushes her down and although she may cry. She gets back up again.
Willow- Broken by Lovely the Band She is like Emmi as she is always happy, but she saw her mom die and that left a hole in her. She always is kind and loves everyone.
Lily- Home by Machine Gun Kelly, Ambassador, Bebe Rexha (this could ALSO work for Adalaine. im sorry I can’t pick!) She is a side character of that, but she was adopted before the story began and lots of flash backs include her as she grows up in the orphanage.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

I've finally gotten around to figuring mine out!
.

Hinata Hayashi: Otome Kaibou, DECO*27

Daniel Hayashi: Disappearance of Hatsune Miku -DEAD END-, cosMo

Michi Hayashi: Never Lost Word, Jin

Shadow Master: Ghost Rule, DECO*27

@hyunjins-eyemole

Evanna- Demons by Imagine Dragons or O.D.D. By Hey Violet She is the protagonist of the story although she is a super villain and all her older siblings are superheroes. She has the power of air. Yeah.
Halle- What a Girl is by Dove Cameron She is an 18 year old perfect superhero who is the eldest daughter of a family of superheroes. Basically Miss Perfect. Telekinetic and other brain powers.
Wyatt- Thunder by Imagine Dragons He is super powerful and has lightning powers and fire powers therefore Thunder seems appropriate.
Cayden- One call away by Charlie Puth He cares about Evanna a lot as they are the closest siblings in age, but he cares about his powers in super strength a little more. He is obsessed with Superman and it is his idol.

@personfullofplotholes language

I replied to this ages ago but in working on some characters for another story thought of some more good ones:

Brock Arlus- "I Love You" by Woodkid, specifically about his brother Damien, but also about his mom and just his general sort of feelings

Brian Cole- "Take Me Anywhere" by NateWantsToBattle, about his life of constant moving and not fitting in and dreaming (this song also fits Brock extremely well, which works since Brock and Brian are extremely close)

Damien Arlus- "The Haunting" by Set It Off, but it's more like the singer is singing about him than the other way around. This song is about Damien from the POV of both everyone who's genuinely loved him and the people who manipulate and use and twist him until he's irrecoverably evil. "Phantom" by NateWantsToBattle also works for him, in regards to his true nature beneath the pleasant persona he puts on constantly.

@Your_Local_Scrivener

Stardew Avalon
Imagine if Cyrano de Bergerac (the Edmond Rostand character) was confident in himself and a Watsonian figure, and you've got Stardew Avalon. Flamboyant, hotheaded, possessed of a certain je ne sais quoi and plenty of panache, Stardew tends to steal the spotlight even when she plays the dutiful doctor.

Song: One Woman Army by Porcelain Black

Like Cyrano and Watson, she has a military history, and once was a drill officer. Now she's (mostly) left that life behind, and occupies her time with being a companion to her brother Foxglove and being a companion to tourists seeking out the best of the magical world, with a few adventures and flings of her own on the side.

Adeline Blackwood
Ah, the femme fatale. Beautiful, cold as ice, seductive. That's Adeline Blackwood. But she's not going to lose her heart to the detective/spy at the end. She likes the money and the desolation on their faces when she takes it from them.

Song: 6 Inch by Beyonce

She works for the money and sees no reason to stop. She also fights for Honey, who she found abandoned one day and decided to raise as her own sister.

Chiaroscuro Canterwell, AKA Marofiro
The Moriarty of the Overlands, with his fingers in every pie. Once upon a time, he was a judge's son, given his odd name because of his father's nickname (due to his father dealing with the worst criminals). People expected him to do great things!
On the side of justice. Perhaps someone should have told him that.

Song: Emperor's New Clothes by Panic! At the Disco
He rules with a hand of titanium in a velvet glove (quite literally; one hand was chopped off for thievery, and he just shrugged and made a new one). No one knows if the figure sitting on the throne really is Marofiro, or just one of his impersonators. He doesn't play games often – you're more likely to find a knife in your throat if he wants you disposed of, instead of testing how smart his opponent really is.
I chose this song because one of his impersonators tries to kill him off and take the throne for herself, but he ends up taking back the crown and killing her for her betrayal. It's also a good idea of his life and habits in general.

(I tried to whittle it down a bit. I just really like this world of characters, and so I have an entire playlist devoted to their relationships and personalities and such. So, I made just one song per person, and an introduction to them. Sorry if this was really difficult/complicated. I love music and writing.)

@hyunjins-eyemole

Tayla- Sweet but Psycho by Ava Max She seems like the sweet best friend to put the main character back on her nice path but plot twist! Tayla is evil and is the main characters partner in crime.

@Mojack group

I'll be back here again, but here are some of my characters.

Khsandri - The Violence
This was a song that felt like her immediately; especially the parts about one minute and 30 seconds in. Khsandri is a spirit in one of my universes, and this song in general just feels like the theme song of my world's version of the "spirit plane."

Zheil - Burn Slow
A lot of the theme songs I pick just feel like my character, since I generally listen to songs without any lyrics in them. Zheil is no expectation. For me, it kind of gives off the idea of destruction or something - maybe from the title, too. Zheil is a kaiju, so she/they does/do a lot of that. It also gives me the undertone of something gone wrong, and Zheil's backstory does have to do with something along those lines. In general this could apply to a few, not all, but a few of my charries. Zheil also does a bit of 'slow burning' and by that I'll leave up for someone to decide.

Empirean - Rebel Right Now
Double meanings here. First, the title. 'Rebel Right Now.' Empirean is from a species of kaiju known to be destroyers, without mercy whatsoever. Empirean is a change from that (and as much as he loves his mother and likewise, he does things his mother may not approve.) He's kind of a rebel against the stereotype of his species. The song itself starts out kind of calm, and towards the end, reaches the climax. Empirean usually prefers not to act out violently at first, and it generally takes a lot to make him fight (before his eye injury, at least.) That's kind of how I feel.

Divebomb - Firebender
He has two, but I couldn't find the other one, so you'll need to settle for this. A shorter sample, but fast paced - just like Divebomb. It also sounds like an action song, which fits into Divebomb's scenario quite well. In the story, Divebomb demonstrates fast planning during his air chase scene.

Apex - From The Ashes
Not something I'd think of when thinking big murderous creatures but hold on lemme explain. Apex..he's clearly scary. He's not something you'd want to see when you look outside at night. But he's a bit different from his other species, in the way that he is an older version of them and he's also had his freedom out in the wilds already. Something about this just says 'freedom' to me. He most likely won't attempt to harm people either, he's more curious in anything. He also does 'rise from the ashes' at one point, so there's that. Which imo, 'from the ashes' doesn't have to be in a literal sense, it could be a change from something, which is what I mean.

Ateris - My World
It's definitely up with my more disturbing characters, for reasons I won't explain unless someone really wants to know. But as apart of Ateris' story, it was an arena fighter..sort of. Most creatures didn't take enjoyment in it, but Ateris did, and I feel it could represent apart of Ateris' 'arena' fighting backstory. The ending, where it suddenly cut off could represent Ateris' fall from grace, which leads to Ateris cursed to a life of permanent pain; immortality and life on earth (though the latter was at random, it could've been any planet)

Like I said, I have a lot of characters, and I will be back with more themes.

@DreadPirateRoberts group

I'm still working on theme songs for my other characters, so I'll be back, but here's one:
"Prototyp" by Eisbrecher
This is Reinhard's theme song because of his love for mechanical engineering and generally inventing all sorts of bizarre weaponry.

@Beck_Wells

Jay and Leo (my main pairing) are fit pretty well by the first part of "Like Lightning" by Snow Patrol
What if this storm ends?
And I don't see you
As you are now
Ever again
The perfect halo
Of gold hair and lightning
Sets you off against
The planet's last dance
Just for a minute
The silver forked sky
Lit you up like a star
That I will follow
Now it's found us
Like I have found you
I don't want to run
Just overwhelm me
What if this storm ends?
And leaves us nothing
Except a memory
A distant echo

I want to see you
As you are now
Every single day
That I am living
Painted in flames
All peeling thunder
Be the lightning in me
That strikes relentless

Okay so uhm my thing is about the end of the world and Jay and Leo are kind of emotional support for each other cause they've both been screwed over by life, also Jay was tempted to join the antagonists for personal reasons. "What if the storm ends (what if the war ends) And I don't see you as you are now ever again (and you change so much that I don't know you anymore)
The rest is just creepy accurate for what they go through, I swear I didn't hear this song until I'd already created them
Anyways, long post, sorry!

@mialourdes_alice group

Adira - Who are you really? By Mikky Ekko
Rory - Only Angel by Harry Styles
Blaire - Mystery of Love by Sufjan Stevens
Caroline - Sweet Creature by Harry Styles
Charlie - Be My Baby by The Ronettes
Eli - Everybody Talks by Neon Trees
Finn - Are you bored yet? By Wallows
Jess - Left Hand Free by alt-j
Wren - Come a little closer by Cage The Elephant

@NotSoBeautifulDiseaster group

Note most of these are Vocaloid songs, plus some are really obscure, so they're in Japanese

Sophie- Pizzicato Drops by toa

Ah, I remember listening to this in 8th grade, good times, well not really, anyways
The song does have a light, airy tone contrasting the sad lyrics with themes of basically a toxic relationship, hell I didn’t even know this was sad song until yesterday. The song is basically about the singer in a toxic relationship with some girl, while the girl isn’t intentionally malicious, she is only in the relationship for the concept of having a partner
It relates to Sophie’s backstory, well not a romantic way like in the song, cause I fell she both relates to the narrator and the girl in the song, Since her friend mostly saw her as interesting because her mother is the photographer of some newspaper and she only saw them as spotlight and signs of status (well granted if they focus on each other personalities they probably each other as shallow) which technically that what friendship is shallow

Sweet, sweet drops, bursting open with a sparkle
They won't fit inside such a small pocket
They overflow, fall to the ground, are stepped on
Become colors, shine again, and then they're gone

What she wants isn't me, but sweet, sweet, sweet feeling

Alt songs: First Train and Kafka- n buna, Portrait Glassred Drew - mothy

Michael- People Allergy by Kairiki Bear

First I think that Kairiki Bears songs a perfect fit for Michael, they like him cute and depressing The tone sounds helpless and pessimistic constantly being in pain as cited in the lyrics

Injury, Injury, Injury, These pains are contorting
And
Everywhere, Everywhere, that I stare even more misery, Another tragedy that can begin
My interpretation of it the song the narrator is a bullied person with social anxiety, as stated “‘cause people are the worst, I put myself first” which basically is Michael in nutshell

It’s seem basically sum up Michael perfectly, like in these three lines for example,

“B-B-Betrayed me to mockery under an obvious fallacy(Backstory) Because I can’t put >these pains on hold, my hearts soak them up becoming cold(Personality), E-E-Even if >my swollen heart was beaten enough to split apart (Backstory), I’d still suffer just like >always, with a >new wound everyday (Character)

Lucas- Eat me by OSTER PROJECTS
So in this song is basically about the singers dating around to feel love (I think)

Everyone wants a story.
Everyone has a sweet sweet dream.
It's a tale with an ending
that it overflows from your lips

Matthew- About Me by Chouchou-P

First the beat of this song(for the arranged version at least) is really jazzy and glimmering, I guess I match Matthew’s positive and mature nature, It seems like the narrator is leaving someone behind, I guess some these lyrics relate to Matthew

Now, it is starting to rain
I feel you drop tears
And my heart become heavy
What's this world coming to?
There's nothing that can be done
I couldn't careless

I can't get my mind off you
I'm such an idiot
Same as usual
You made me feel so better
It brings back memories
It's things about you

Maybe I'm afraid I'm not as tender guy as you think
Looking your eyes, and I say "love you" with fake smile
I don't know what to do
Please tell me what should I do
Just feel so sad inside, but I kiss you
Kiss you…

Jax- Brain Revolution Girl by Materu

I guess this perfectly sums up Jax’s and his father’s relation Jax hates his father and his abusive attitude, his father for some reason sees his abuse as keep them in check so he can love them, Jax wants to have a normal relationship with his father but his father idiocy keeps getting in the way

Your excuses just keep on coming
It’s turned out unbecoming
Ah!
And what is that? And what
is that? And what is that?!
You still think you
can pull of this act?
Okay, fine, I will admit,
my life is full of shit
I just wanted to be honest, but it
Feels like my head is about to split
You seem inhuman to me, so
why not stop your breathing?
Running through your
ideals as if you’re free
Mr. Anonymous, I have pity
It seems that I’ve become deaf,
your noise I simply cannot hear

Charlie Only Radiant DNA by Zutto mayonakade īnoni

First the song has a pretty calm, relaxing beat
So basically the song is about the narrator conforming to society and feeling empty as a result

Even if I fit myself into a box, I would just be abandoning
my self-esteem to the dimly-lit morning
which basically sums his back story and even his current personality since even now he's trying to at least blend in the crowd and fit in this apathetic world
