so, I need a bit of help coming up with monsters for my character to see. they aren't really monster monsters, more like dead people/sown together people in a way. Humans with a twist, like a doctor that's a tapestry of sown together body parts. They've mainly been based off of my sleep paralysis hallucinations, but some of them are too personal to write down, or they just freak me out too much, and I still need one or two more but I'm having troubles coming up with anything that hasn't been done to death. If any of y'all need me to give you an idea of what I'm talking about just let me know and I'll give y'all an example of one of the existing people/monster things.
First of all these monsters sound super freaky and overall amazing! My only question is what role do they have in your story? Are they the bad guys or just one of many creature that exist within your world?
Well, both kinda. My main character, Eve, sees them almost everywhere, especially one which I refer to as the boy in the wall, he's probably the main "monster". She pretty much hallucinates them, and at the beginning they never really interact with her, just kind of hide in corners and stare at her, sometimes they sit at the foot of her bed. They're just these horrid "monsters" from her dreams that follow her around in reality. They never actually harm her, but they terrify her due to the way they look and stare.
That's such an interesting concept! Anyways, I couldn't find something that matches your idea super well but I found two websites that have some creepy and unusual monsters so I'll link them here. (hopefully they work)
I wound both of these links have a good mix of classic and obscure monsters (so its not completly monsters that are overused in books like Greek/Roman along with Norse) that could spice it up since there isn't exactly a real life version of your monster that I know of. I would just read through these and maybe they can inspire some ideas.
You might want to check out the series 'Unwind'. It really matched your description of the monsters. In the series, parents can choose to send their kids to unwound which is basically they get taken apart. In one of the books, someone takes a bunch of unwound children parts and use them to create a real person (kind of like how you said they seemed stiched together)
