Man, this is so great, I'm loving it. I'm starting understanding my characters a bit more, too.

https://www.notebook.ai/documents/112896 - Super WIP, messy and full of errors.

i find it really is a good exercise for that! i think because it helps to clarify how your characters might be viewed by an audience. i love what you have so far, i'm always down for a ragtag bunch of misfits

hey thanks. But I'm trying to invert it, actually. For outside people they looks like misfits and weirdos, but actually are professionals. Save for the two teenagers who are dragged into trouble for reasons

Ya know, if you two idiots arguing and telling you crap like "I'm the shepherd of the stars!" or "I'm the biggest genius in the world!" you'll think they're just that, idiots. Until the day they defeat your evil army of evilness without effort.

Pretty much, although I'm sure you're a good enough writer to make them have to put some effort into it. "Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass" might be another apropos trope.

Oooh thanks, I'm gonna check this trope!

i don't think i've mentioned this here yet (which surprises me lol) but cast calculus is a great page to start with as a jumping-off point, especially if you have an ensemble cast. and i don't mean that for just this exercise! in general, it's a fantastic tool for brainstorming and better understanding character dynamics, and figuring out how to make them work.

OH MY, THANK YOU! I'm planning using different groups for my story, it will help a lot! I have a team of seven villains and its being hard do develop them all
