I love this thread, so I'm back with new characters from my fantasy universe!

Who do you think will be the favourite character?
Probably Brent. People stan a chaotic bisexual.

Who will be the least favourite character?
I'd hope Roger's parents are absolutely despised, considering that they're intentionally horrible people! In terms of like the protagonists I literally have no idea. Unfortunately maybe Ember? I really hope people wouldn't find her bluntness annoying, but eh you never know. Or idk maybe they'd find Roger a bit bland, considering that his personality doesn't exactly fit into a lot of the classic tropes and stuff. (I feel like the amount of thought I put into Roger's character is definitely gonna be overshadowed by the Chaotic™ characters lmaoo)

Who is gonna be shipped together the most?
Brent and Roger are like the main canon pairing and I feel like they're a couple fans will like! I mean it's the classic outgoing vs reserved dynamic, and I think they have a lot of cute moments, so I hope people will like them haha.

Who do you NOT want shipped together?
Any of the teenagers being shipped with any of the adults, obviously. (I really hope this wouldn't have to be said, but uhh people are weird.) Or people ignoring characters' sexualities to ship them in straight pairings. like come on everyone's gay in some way go read any other fantasy book. if i see anyone trying to ship roger with a woman i'll cry

What (canon) pairing do you think they’ll gloss over the most?
There aren't really that many couples considering that a majority of the main cast are teenagers (and I'm done with books where EVERY teenage character is paired off at the end!! I wanted to write something where that doesn't happen!) So maybe Viola and Sage, since they're more secondary characters?

Who’s sexual orientation is going to be ignored the most?
God knows people love to ignore the aces. This one unfortunately definitely goes to Brent: he's the chaotic, good-looking bi character who flirts with everyone under the sun, so people are 100% going to ignore him being ace. Heather's also demi and with her being not one of the main three, it isn't talked about as much as other's identities so I feel like people will also gloss over that.

Who do you think will be simped over the most?
Brent for sure. Literally a given.

Who do you think is going to have the coolest fanart?
Brent and Roger,,, the PARALLELS,, there are literally so many cool creative things you could do with art of these two

Which character’s fanfics are you most excited to see?
Definitely Roger, he's my beloved child and he's got some epic backstory fic potential. I'd love to see fics exploring the parallels between Ember, Roger and Brent as well.

What fanfictions tropes do you think will be the most common?
lmao I wouldn't be surprised if it was a coffee shop AU considering roger's love of tea

What AUs do you think will be most popular?
oops i answered that one already. tbh i can see a modern au or a superhero au as well!

Which character do you think might be reduced to the “hyper meme god” archetype despite being really deep and having much more to their character?
Wraith and Heather, no question. (We don't talk about the fact that they pretty much are only this at the moment because I am yet to properly develop their characters lmao)

What character are you excited to see people cosplay?
I'd love to see Heather cosplay because she's just got such a cool design and I love seeing people in knight costumes! Also Sage, I love her aesthetic so much, like people could really be super creative with sewing their own dresses and doing embroidery for that cosplay!

Who do you think people might relate to just a lil bit too much
oh dear god all three of the main cast have the potential, we've got Roger (parents who won't accept you, constantly playing a part in order to fit in), Brent (never really knowing who you are outside of being the Gifted Kid, constantly having to please everyone), and Ember (being isolated from your peers for your differences, not fitting in anywhere)…

Who do you think is going to have the most Villain Aus?
Roger or Brent for sure (for very different reasons! like you've got the 'what if the amazing hero switches sides, or the potential of having the destruction wizard go haywire)

What would be considered a cringy OC in your universe? Like if someone created their own original character what is the one that’s going to make you roll your eyes the most?
tbh I don't think many things would make me roll my eyes that much! maybe creating an oc to ship with one of the paired-up people in the main cast?

Kol is a walking ball of sunshine so probably him.

I feel like a lot of people won't like Charlis because he's like. intentionally a little boring because he was raised to be The Ideal Son^TM of his family.

Any of the clones with each other but specifically AJ and KC. Also Reap and Rora–she is like 14, do not pass go, directly to jail.

What (canon) pairing do you think they’ll gloss over the most?
Reeta and Jez, probably.

Who’s sexual orientation is going to be ignored the most?
Jez is ace and as we all know, people love to ignore canon ace characters, especially since she's also a Zeltron and therefore an attractive alien woman and the Rule 34 people go nuts for them. There's a few other characters are are ace-spec, aro-spec, or alloromantic asexual too.

Who do you think will be simped over the most?
Mirjem….no elaboration. Although I think Reap will have some fans because angst.

Who do you think is going to have the coolest fanart?
Ooh all of the art would be cool but I've gotta try and narrow it down, ugh. Lana and Bianca in their Nabooian royalty outfits and Ania and Mirana in their Jedi robes/in battle would be cool though. Also Mirjem bc xe have the most drip. There's two specific moments that I can picture that are visually so good for fanart but I'm still hammering out the kinks so I don't want to be more specific than saying one involves the crystals of Ilum and one involves very bloody revenge.

Which character’s fanfics are you most excited to see?
Mirjem is a relatively minor character compared to some others but xe have an absolutely insane backstory that's mentioned mostly in passing. Basically xe straight up invented a royal family to be from and is living a life of luxury by conning people into thinking xe's a descendant of a royal line and happen to be charismatic enough to get away with it. Pre-story Mirjem fics would be nuts and I am so here for them. Also, pre-story Ania fics.

What fanfictions tropes do you think will be the most common?
Jez and Reeta murdering slavers and freeing trafficking victims from the hutts and other scumbags. Role reversal with Charlis and Athena where he was the one forced to join the ISB and broken down mentally. Fics way down the line about the surviving cast during the time of Rogue One and further/earlier than the story starts with Ace at the First Battle of Geonosis.

What AUs do you think will be most popular?
"What if Aleks and Mirjem swapped roles and he was the one to fake as royalty while xe stayed a street rat?", "What if Kol evaded Order 66 and it was Mirana who was unaccounted for?", "What if Reap's chip had worked?", "What if Bianca was the queen and Lana was the handmaiden?". Also people torturing Ace by making him kill Ania in Order 66 and then writing angst fics about him dealing with the aftermath.

Which character do you think might be reduced to the “hyper meme god” archetype despite being really deep and having much more to their character?
STRIKER. He intentionally positions himself as the hyper meme god type of guy as a small way to buck against the restraints put on him in his role as a clone trooper born and bred for combat, but he does genuinely care about his brothers and the war effort and the bombing run sequence alone shows that he's not just "haha funny prank guy".

What character are you excited to see people cosplay?
Ania and Mirjem.

Who do you think is going to have the most Villain Aus?
I think what makes it fun is that anyone could have a compelling villain AU. i.e. I don't want to name anyone in particular bc I am still thinking of new ways to torment my OCs and a fall to the dark side is a good one.

What would be considered a cringy OC in your universe? Like if someone created their own original character what is the one that’s going to make you roll your eyes the most?
They are my Star Wars OCs and they include Jedi who avoided Order 66, Nabooian royalty, deeply traumatized clone troopers, colorful gay aliens, and Corellian con artists. I cannot call anyone else's OCs cringe.

Who do you think will be the favourite character?
Maybe Khirim? He is a pompous rich guy who turns out to have a soft spot and undergoes a character arc, so I think that's appealing. But I did make him sort of annoying at the beginning, so that might either appeal to people or drive them away. Or maybe Sarus, since he's the main character I tried to make him personable. I put a lot of love in those two and they are the most featured characters, so I think they'd be favorites.

Who will be the least favourite character?
I try to write the characters in this story with nuance, even if they do certain actions I hope the reader will still see where they come from. For example, Azana does a lot of morally questionable stuff, but I hope she isn't just hated on. I think she's really interesting, and I hope that people like her despite her personality and actions! But I don't know if that will come across for everyone, so maybe Azana then? Halisia, Dayane, and Elionnel are also strong candidates. I feel like morally gray women get a lot more hate whereas morally gray men are fan favorites. And this book has a lot of morally gray women, so I hope they don't get unfairly hated on a bunch. Not that there isn't a lot of reasons to dislike them, but I hope they're just viewed fairly and there's still positive interest in them. But I like all my major characters and I want readers to connect with them too, so my hope is that the least favorite character is just some random side character lol

Who is gonna be shipped together the most? (They could be in a relationship or not, just predict)
Probably Khirim and Sarus. They spend a lot of time together.

Who do you NOT want shipped together?
I feel kind of mixed on Sarus and Erzai being shipped? I see them more as close friends and platonic found family. But I also want people to be able to interpret my writing how they want, and if they see something there, then whatever! Also wouldn't want any ships where characters have a drastic power imbalance/toxic dynamic.

What (canon) pairing do you think they’ll gloss over the most?
There's really only one canon pairing that's explored in depth, so it's hard to ignore. So I guess one of the random side couples will get glossed over, which I don't mind.

Who’s sexual orientation is going to be ignored the most?
Sarus since he's bi. Bisexuality gets erased a lot of the time.
I'm also worried that Azana's and Dayane's relationship will get discredited. I did write it to be ambiguous whether there was anything romantic going on (or at least I'm trying to, but it gets gayer every time I write more about it). Again, I want people to have their own interpretations, and I don't want the possibility of them being in romantic love to be ignored.

Who do you think will be simped over the most?
I don't know?? Maybe Khirim again? I'm also an artist and I draw my characters and someone told me he was pretty recently so… And the people love a pathetic man. He can be pathetic at times.

Who do you think is going to have the coolest fanart?
I think any fanart of my characters would be super cool! I guess Khirim? I personally really like drawing him! Angsty drawings of Azana chock full of intricate symbolism would go hard though.

Which character’s fanfics are you most excited to see?
Hard to choose because I'd be excited to see fanfics for any character. Maybe Azana, for similar points above? I think there's a lot with her and Dayane that happened years before the story began. Sometimes I'm tempted to write a novella or make a comic about it.

What fanfictions tropes do you think will be the most common?
I really don't know lol. If Sarus/Khirim is the most popular ship, maybe Enemies to Lovers or Hate to Love I guess. And I guess all the tropes that can be associated with that, like Forced Proximity and Fake Dating.

What AUs do you think will be most popular?
I have no idea! Maybe canon divergence, like hypotheticals where a canon event in the story never happened and figuring out how the outcomes of the story would change without that. I always think those are super cool! Also I don't know if this would actually be popular but I love Swap AU's! I've kind of made some up for myself, like swapping Khirim and Sarus where Khirim is banished from his family and has to live on the streets and Sarus feels bad and helps him out, unlike in canon where Sarus impersonates a long lost heir and joins the nobility. Or Halisia and Khirim switch, so Sarus is forced to work with Halisia while Khirim is more antagonistic instead of the other way around.

Which character do you think might be reduced to the “hyper meme god” archetype despite being really deep and having much more to their character?
I don't think any of them? None of them are really close to that archetype. I guess any of the major characters could be reduced to a few of their traits. Like I'm scared Sarus will be treated as just the funny and friendly one or that Azana will be overly villainized.

What character are you excited to see people cosplay?
Again, any of them! Especially since most of the characters are royalty and they dress up in lots of lush, fancy, fantasy clothing so that would be fun to see! Maybe Khirim because I've designed a lot of outfits for him. It would be cool if I saw any of them brought to life.

Who do you think people might relate to just a lil bit too much?
Sarus? Sometimes I write something he does and feel like it hits a little too close to home. Plus he's a commoner surrounded by a bunch of out-of-touch rich people.

Who do you think is going to have the most Villain Aus?
I guess Sarus. Since there's a lot of exploration about power and corruption in the novel, maybe people would imagine Sarus succumbing to greed. Or maybe Khirim if he decided to be worse. But all of the characters are kind of morally gray already, there's no outright villains, so I don't feel like it's the best for Villain AU's.

What would be considered a cringy OC in your universe? Like if someone created their own original character what is the one that’s going to make you roll your eyes the most?
I'd love if people made cringy OC's for my universe. That means I've made it. That's the dream. I guess it would be kind of annoying if people wrote Lleyan into the story, I guess? That wouldn't be really an OC, but if they imagined up the true heir coming back and being a perfect aristocrat and everything, because that would mean they missed the point I was getting at.
