I just added a few characters to my story and now I feel like I have too many main ones.

Same I have four mains but they get joined by tons of side characters every so often. I'm working through making profiles for them but it's gonna take ages

I would ask him what he would think of you making some adjustments. Say you like the character and just want to try some new stuff out but keep it in character.

I have one character up now but he's not even finished yet oops. I plan on having a lot more since i'm working on a short story collection but I'm so excited to get them all put up. (spoiler alert: all my characters are little critters and bugs found in home gardens)

I may have many characters, but I cannot share them to just anyone, for I fear that they will be taken and misused. But I will reveal that my characters are not born humans (in actuality they are dragons and beasts taking on human forms), and half of them have powers devastating to mortals. All my characters are works in progress.

Ah, so I have Delta, the abandoned/rejected heir who was raised in a temple where she learned to use shifting (magic). She's basically that one well-meaning, goofy, possibly destructive kid you know and love if they also could produce fire or make a canyon whenever they wanted. She usually uses shifting (based in kenpo, other martial arts, and ballet/contemporary dance) when fighting but is also skilled with her staff (which she normally uses as a pogo stick). She accidentally broke into Fylo's house as a kid when having too much with said shifting.
Fylo is the child of two of the villagers (there is a temple on the top of a mountain, and the town is on the sides of the mountain over the water, below the temple) and wants to be a bookbinder, as the son of a papermaker and a leatherworker. He's a nerd and a bit stubborn about being right, but is also pretty pacifistic and uses shifting primarily for healing, contrasting to Delta's feistier powers. They've been best friends ever since she accidentally sledded down the mountain into his house.
Karma is the runaway child of two higher-class folks in the capital city where Delta and Fylo travel to in order for Delta to confront the royal family. Karma meets them by robbing Fylo in an alleyway after Delta gets separated from him, then feeling bad and leaving him without hurting him at all. She's a bit cynical due to her upper-class background and feels that life is better on the streets where she isn't constricted, if not by much. She's street smart, a fast talker, and a great liar (all defensive mechanisms from her time both in the palaces and on the streets). She also has kleptomaniac tendencies, and is well-trained in using double broadswords. Because shifting was banned in the capital, she knew nothing of it until Delta chased her on some rooftops making moves that otherwise would've been physically impossible.
I know I kinda went nuts, sorry about that. I just haven't gotten to talk about these three with anyone much.

oooh where to start! the problem is that I keep addding books and adding characters so now I have 5 books in various stages of completion and about 40 characters. But i'll tell you about some of my favorites!

  1. Alga

    The first character I created! She lives a lone in an old cabin, making in selling herbal remedies for the people in her tiny village
  2. Oakannah

    A young girl living in a big city who gets romantically involved with her boss who is a witch
  3. Terus

    Alga's daughter. She's very angry, and not very developed but I'm excited to see where she goes.
